Trendsman 2010

Recommended Posts

It has been a profitable 6 months for both threads and the close of 2009 is upon us and this will be the new thread for 2010. Everything will get put in this over the next 12 months, Across the water and trends will merge as one. This year has seen me become more disciplined on my betting and watching others on here grow has been good. I was honored to be honest to be put forward for an PL Oscar this year by the members. To just be nominated against some really good punters on here i have taken on board as a big achievement and a step in the right direction. I would like to thank everyone connected with the PL and on lookers from out side for following my threads in 2009 and lets hope for a better 2010.

Has had only the two runs on the All Weather with both resulting in a fourth and an improve run when running third to Thoughtofstardom in a similar contest when going down by three parts of a length off todays mark of 68, and has good claims here. Stewart William's Bertoliver makes his third appearance here and has improved on every run. Finished fourth last time out over 6f here last time out when going down by three lengths off a mark of 80. The drop back in trip to 5f should suit and William Carson is booked and a 3lb claim needed. Bertoliver : 1pt Win @ 3.9 Betfair Littlemisssunshine : 1pt Win @ 4.6 Betfair

Is coming in to this with out a penalty and could still be ahead of the handicap on All Weather form and has a 6lb pull with the latter this time around and should reverse the form. Capone neverless apart from the run above was beaten two days ago under a 6lb penalty to Imprimis Tagula at Wolverhampton and has to over come another 6lb rise to achieve a victory here. Was a course and distance winner when beating Malapropism back in October and is off a 9lb higher mark today from that run. Carries a 6lb penalty this afternoon and i feel has a bit to find on the weights with the other selection here. Sir Edwin Landseer finished fifth over 5f here back in October when off a mark of 83. We have to go back to Oct of 2006 when Sir Edwin Landseer last run oiver course and distance when finishing fourth to Mutamared in a Class 2 handicap. Off a mark of 79 this afternoon and has slumped heavily in the handicap and has not recorded a win since winning at Nad Al Sheba back in 2008 when winning a 262K race and had Obe Gold beaten that day and despite being nine now has every chance in this. Clive Cox's Den's Gift comes into this off the back of a good second over course and distance to Falcativ and was caught at the shadow of the post that day. Was a winner over course and distance prior to that when beating Halsion Chancer by a head when off a 3lb lower mark, has the abilty to take this race which looks easier than what he has contested. Those days have gone and now rated only 54 he has slumped terribly in the handicap over the last two years. He did win over 6f here back in October when beating Bountiful Bay by one length when off a 1lb higher mark. The jockey Matthew Davies does not have the greatest of records with the horse infact has never got into the winning enclosure on him, but now dropping back to the optimum trip does have claims. Ron Harris's Best One has had ten runs here and just the one win which came over 6f in March of 2008 when beating Punching by one and a half lengths when off a mark of 67. Was last seen over course and distance this month when finishing third to Spinning Bailiwick and just could not get there, so the concern is that is the trip on the sharp side. Lively Outsider Patrick Morris's Colombard has been knocking on the door and always travels well through out his races. stepping back to the optimum trip could suit this Almutawakel gelding and is sure to make the frame again. Forest Dane has been running creditable the last few months and finished a good third behind Fantasy Fighter over course and distance going down by three lengths. He had Elusive Ronnie two and three quarter lengths in front of him that day when conceding 15lb in the weights and gets a 6lb reverse pull here this afternoon. A eye catching booking of Luke Morris here who has had 48 of his mounts here this year either won or placed. Pocket's Pick : 2pt Win @ SP Forest Dane : 1/2pt e/w @ SP

Is attempting Soft conditions for the first time this afternoon but his run at Stratford back in October this year when going down by eleven lengths to Tim Vaughan's Slip would put him in here with a slim each way chance, but the ground is a concern. Martin Harris trains Chaninbar here and if we look back to his run when finishing fourth to Katies Tuitor at Market Rasen back in July on soft ground which was a Listed event he has a big claim here, was only eight lengths behind the winner that day and is 2lb better off on the handicap here. Lively Outsider Simon Burrough's six year old Alasao was disappointing on years re-appearance when finishing tenth to Donpaytheferryman at Fontwell over a quarter mile further than today.Has won over further in these conditions and worse when beating Snake Hips by three and a half lengths here at Taunton.Has won over this trip when winning a 0-105 handicap at Exeter when beating Kilmeena Magic by six lengths under today's pilot Liam Heard, the Jockey is two wins from six mounts and with two placed runs aswell. He should enjoy the tough conditions here and looks over priced at 28/1. Re: Trendsman 2010 Opinion on 13.20 Lingfield (30/12/09) I think it is time to hang up the boots of Sir Edwin Landseer. the horse is just not interested in racing anymore, Obe Gold rightly reversed the Nad Al Sheba form and Charlie Delta well the penalty has done him no favors. Re: Trendsman 2010 Opinion on the 14.15 Taunton (30/12/09) Warren Marston showed toughness to steer Chaninbar home to win and touched as big as 10/1 on the exchange's. Points of View pulled to hard through out the race which done him no favors, and Alasao was badly injured after jumping the fifth and no news on him yet.

Re: Trendsman 2010 Opinion on 15.35 Lingfield (30/12/09) A little disappointed on Den's Gift run today despite finishing second, but a gutsy run by Pegasus Again to hold the victory but the horse to take out of the race is Totally Foccussed who had no were to go for Hayley Turner and he finished the race pulling double. Blue Neptune should be a lot closer this evening to Wanchai Whisper after their encounter back over course and distance in 20 days ago, has the weight to get up here and is already a course and distance winner back in October when beating True Red by two and a half lengths and gained a big advantage from stall 11. Re: Trendsman 2010 Opinion on the 18.50 Kempton (30/12/09) Surprising that Wanchai Whisper has held the form with Blue Neptune but happy that the win was achieved at a better price. but then again Willie Muir books Hayley Turner and not Martin Dwyer for Blue Neptune which should of been a stand out alone. but a winner is a winner and a nice price to boot.

Santa's Son comes from the Whylie and Johnson team who have struck up an amazing partnership he season already. He has not been seen over hurdles since his Irish days with John O'Shea and you have to go back to 2006 when he had a good record for the Irish trainer on ground soft-heavy and i cannot see why he won't show his ability here. Perfect Act comes from the Clive Cox yard and finally got his head infront again since his 4lb rise win at Lingfield when beating New Leyf by two lengths when off level weights it might be a tough task to hold this form with New Leyf now giving 5lb away this afternoon, but the yard seem to be running into a bit of form with Dens Gift being touched off recently and Only A Game having no where to go in his race yesterday when looking all over the winner under today's pilot Adam Kirby, so this win could of given him a kick start, but does not win that much, infact this was his first win since a that October run and only his third win of his career. Resplendent Nova has improved here at Kempton over the past few weeks and now loks like to be knocking on the door. His two fourth's behind Defector and Seek the Fair Land shows his form is gettig better, but the race he won here over course and distance last January when beating a useful type in Totally Foccussed by half a length when off a mark of 81 which is a far superior company than he is achieving to beat here and off a mark of 57 today has to put the Paul Howling runner bang there.
