Stewarts Speed Ratings - A trial project

Recommended Posts

Ok, I'm wanting to test something here which I have been thinking about for a while. Recently, I have been finding myself making a lot more money betting on the racing across in the US. The Us have a completely different view to form than across here in the UK, in that they like to use figures and quantitative data much more than collateral form etc. The figures for each horse are readily available, and I feel my mind interprets these figures much better than it does trying to assess the form in the UK. I feel this is the main reason why I have done better financially betting on the American Racing. Trying to implement these speed figures for UK racing is a much bigger challenge for a number of reasons, however, I have got my hands on some speed figs for UK racing and I am going to see how I get on using these. Contrary to some speed figures users, I am not going to simply take the top rated horse and back it. Instead, I aim to try and interpret these figures - for example if a horse had one outstanding figure - why was it - did it get an easy lead?, was the ground heavy etc. When I have time, I will reason the selections, but this is very much a learning process. Today, for example there are a number of selections, some which I fancy less than others. By analysing the results, I should be able to find out whether it is best just to back those that have a clear advantage on the figures etc. I cant post the full figures up here, but I will post the selections. The mythical start bank will be £200. I will be backing these, but will not be following the selections exactly as they are on this thread as these selections will be combined with my normal betting. Todays analysis to follow. :ok

Re: A new way of betting ? - A trial project Good luck Stewart, always nice to see something a bit different. Saw a site once with free software for ratings in the US, looked quite good but couldnt implement it for the UK, see if I can find it later.
