Re: Champions League Group Stage: Matchday 4- Tuesday 4th November What do you guys think about Most scoring half in Barca-Basel game? 1st half - 3.1 2nd half - 1.93 Equal - 3.85 I think there is good value in 3.1. Barca has destroyed their opponents in the first half quite often this season.

Re: Champions League Group Stage: Matchday 4- Tuesday 4th November ive taken chelsea away to roma good odds chelsea have looked good in the premier league thus far this season whereas roma are struggling having lost there last 3 games in serie a, chelsea welcoming bk some of their injured players such as drogba so shud be a good pik at 2.1 to win away from home, ive taken barcelona aswell seeing as they are destroying teams home and away in both the CL and La liga Also picked werder decent home record against pana's disastrous record away, werder doing well in the Bundesliga aswell, giving a heads up aswell to go against inter theyre still winning but having a torrid time and anorthis will be up for the game at home with their fans behind them dnt see any value in a away win here.

Re: Champions League Group Stage: Matchday 4- Tuesday 4th November I think the value of the day is Bordeaux. They are going well now in French Championship, they play better and better and Gourcuff is now a big leader of the team. It is the last chance for Girondins to dream of a qualification against a team who don't have the same results as last year... even if they have made a really good job against Chelsea last week. Against Bordeaux, Cluj must attack in order to get points so their will be many place for Bordeaux and Cavenaghi to score at least... one goal. So, for me, Bordeaux +0,25 (@1,943 Pinnacle) is a real value bet ! Score prediction : 0-1 GL :cheers

Re: Champions League Group Stage: Matchday 4- Tuesday 4th November CFR 1907 Cluj vs. FC Girondins de Bordeaux CFR 1907 Cluj find themselves in second place in Group A behind Chelsea after the first round of fixtures have been completed. Two weeks ago Bordeaux defeated Cluj 1-0 in Bordeaux. It has always been the ambition of CFR Cluj to finish third thereby qualifying for the UEFA Cup which would suit them more at this stage. Didi picked up an injury at the weekend and is unavailable while Eugen Trica will be out serving his suspension. Bordeaux will need to win if they hope to finish in the top two. Matthieu Valverde takes over from Ulrich Ramé after the veteran goalkeeper suffered the recurrence of a groin injury in Saturday's 1-0 loss at AS Nancy-Lorraine. Blanc's main concern is the fitness of central midfielder Fernando who is struggling with a back problem, yet is expected to start. Cluj will try and make amends for that narrow 0-1 defeat two weeks ago at the hands of Bordeaux. If they can repeat their performance when they held Chelsea to a goalless draw here a few weeks ago then they shouldn’t have too many problems here. Bordeaux have yet to make the next round in three previous attempts. A narrow victory for Cluj is possible.

Prediction: Cluj Win @2.33 FC Barcelona vs. FC Basel FC Barcelona have little to worry about in the Champions League, and the new Primera Division leaders should be able to relax ahead of their game with FC Basel. The Swiss stood no chance against the Catalans two weeks ago, when Pep Guardiola's side easily secured a 0-5 victory. Barcelona have been in great form lately, having won all of their last eleven games. Eric Abidal is still out for the Spaniards, while Basel have to do without Scott Chipperfield, who needs surgery. Carlitos might be able to make his return from injury. I expect Barcelona to make some changes however the team they put out should secure an easy enough victory to enable them to put a 2nd string team out for the 2 remaining fixtures after they secure qualification to the next stage tonight!

Prediction: Barcelona -2 HCP @1.91 SV Werder Bremen vs. Panathinaikos Athens Werder Bremen and Panathinaikos could both really use a win if they want to keep a chance of staying alive in the Champions League. Pressure is mostly on Panathinaikos, who have earned only one point in their first three games. That one point came from the 2-2 draw with Bremen two weeks ago. Werder hosted Panathinaikos once before, in the 2005-06 group phase, and won that match 5-1. The Germans, who have been improving their form lately and should be able to win this game, are without midfielder Torsten Frings (suspended). Andreas Ivanschitz picked up an injury in domestic action this week, and won't able to represent the Greeks for this game.

Prediction: Werder Bremen -1 HCP @2.10 AS Roma vs. Chelsea FC AS Roma’s coach Luciano Spalletti is fighting to hold onto his job with the side from the capital city of Italy. Facing a rampant Chelsea won’t make his survival any easier. Roma's inspirational captain Francesco Totti is a doubt for Tuesday after he missed the Juventus match because of pain in the knee he had surgery on last season. Italy midfielder Alberto Aquilani also looks set to miss out again with the thigh problem he sustained in the 1-0 defeat at Stamford Bridge two weeks ago. Chelsea have seven points from their three matches and are three points ahead of Cluj. Nicolas Anelka is expected to be in the starting line up with Didier Drogba likely to warm the bench. All of Ashley Cole, Ricardo Carvalho, Michael Essien and Michael Ballack will also miss the trip to Rome. Since their creditable 0-1 loss at Stamford Bridge two weeks ago Roma have shown very little to suggest that they are going to be able to keep Chelsea at bay. The result should go the way of the form team Chelsea by as many as three goals.

Predictions: Chelsea Win @2.10 Chelsea -2 HCP @10.00 Anytime Goalscorer - F Lampard @3.25 Liverpool FC vs. Atletico Madrid Good news for Liverpool is the fact that star striker Fernando Torres could be set to make his return after injury. Surprisingly Liverpool have a poor home record against Spanish sides. They have not won any of their last five home matches against Spanish teams. In fact they have not scored in the last four! They will still be smarting after their unbeaten Premier run this season went out of the window when Tottenham Hotspur came from behind to snatch a 2-1 win in injury time. While former Atletico Madrid player Torres could be in the starting line up for Liverpool, Javier Aguirre will be back for Atletico Madrid. He made his return on Saturday and scored both of their goals in their 2-0 victory against Real Mallorca. Goalkeeper Gregory Coupet has recovered from injury, but defenders Tomas Ujfalusi and Giourkas Seitaridis have been ruled out. Liverpool have been the more consistent and they could sneak home by the odd goal.

Re: Champions League Group Stage: Matchday 4- Tuesday 4th November Sporting CP Lisbon vs. FC Shakhtar Donetsk A win over Shakhtar Donetsk would be a big step in the right direction for Sporting Lisbon, but the Ukranians won't give up easily in Portugal. If Shakhtar manage a win themselves they would share the second place with Lisbon and could even have a head-to-head advantage. Two weeks ago, Sporting ended up beating their opponents with a single goal from Liedson in the 76th minute. It is uncertain whether Sporting boss Bento sticks with Derley, who was sent off in the side's league win over Rio Ave on Saturday.

Prediction: Draw @3.40 Anorthosis Famagusta FC vs. FC Internazionale With a win over Anorthosis Famagusta, Internazionale would be practically certain of making it to the next round in the Champions League. The Cypriots meanwhile, could really use a surprise result if they want to defend their second place. Inter were slightly stronger two weeks ago, and won 1-0 thanks to a goal from Adriano. This time though, Anarthosis play at home and that might give them the advantage they need to trouble the Italians. The home side do have some injuries to deal with. Dellas, Theodotou, Nikolay, Voskarides and Skopelitis are all out. Inter coach Mourinho has a fair share of injury worries as well, with Figo, Cambiasso and Chivu among those sidelined for this game.

Prediction: Draw @3.75 Olympique de Marseille vs. PSV Eindhoven Which ever side loses here will be as good as having been eliminated from the competition with three matches still to go. PSV have not enjoyed their best start to the season and are lying fourth in the Eredivisie. Coach Huub Stevens will have to do without defender Jan Kromkamp whop picked up a groin strain at Tuesday’s training session. Peruvian teenager Reimond Manco who plays in the midfield has been struck down by a virus. However midfielder Mike Zonneveld may make a welcome return. Olympique de Marseille remain unbeaten in Ligue 1 and will be boosted by a 3-1 win at Valenciennes on Sunday. They will be at full strength for this vital match. Don’t expect too many fireworks in this match. A draw may be the outcome of this vital match for both sides.

Re: Champions League Group Stage: Matchday 4- Tuesday 4th November I've gone for CFR to win tonight. This is the biggest chance a Romanian team ever had to qualify for the last 16 in CL. CFR impressed everybody by winning in Rome and drawing with Chelsea and only an own goal from Cadu made them lose the game with Bordeaux last round, a game CFR would'nt have lost not in a million years judjing by the way it was played. IMO GK Rame is a big blow for Bordeaux and the lack of experience of Valverde will be a plus for CFR. After an impressive 4-0 win,Bordeaux lost away last round 1-0 and the morale of the team should be lower. CFR will miss AM Trica who got the red card and striker Didi injured a week ago. With a win tonight CFR has 80% chances to reach the last 16, the stadium is sold out and Bordeaux will have a very tough task not to win, but even to score as a mistake like that of Cadu can't happen again. With Kone in great form, and with the croud behind them i can see CFR winning tonight with at least one goal difference. CFR odds 2.42 @ betfair 10 pts

Re: Champions League Group Stage: Matchday 4- Tuesday 4th November Anorthosis v Inter both teams in bad shape, i understand you can not compare teams in terms of quality, but indeed they look bad Anorthosis lost heavily to Omonia two weeks ago 0-4, which was the largest defeat in last four-five years for the team from famagusta In addition, they can not beat even the weak teams of our league, suffering a lot in the creative part of the game. Star players Dellas and Savio are both out, BUT have to mention that both of them were underperforming lately, and ketsbaia was in big trouble fighting with above players, so i am not sure if they are really injured, or just ketsbaia decided to leave them out for the today's match Inter as i saw them in previous clash, struggling a lot, not convincing me at all Mourinho said yesterday, that Inter will play for the win, because this team always play for victory.... however, he added that to collect four points from the two games against anorthosis, is not bad result!:eek i expect very defensive tactics by ketsbaia, while Mourinho will not push things if result is 0-0 or something at 70th minute.. Pick : Under 2.5 goal @1.9 betfair p.s full stadium-GSP Nicosia- 20k cypriots to support anorthosis and 500 italians for inter good luck :ok

Re: Champions League Group Stage: Matchday 4- Tuesday 4th November Chelsea -1.5 Roma are struggling for some form as they have lost their last 5 games in all competitons as they were beaten by Juve 2-0 on the weekend. To compound their problems, Totti and Aquillani look like they will miss the game. Cheslea come into this game with very good form after their 5-0 thrashng of Sunderland and have yet to concede a goal in this tournament. A win here should give them enough points to qualify for the next stage and with Roma looking very vulnerable, Chelsea are a good chance to beat them by at least a couple of goals Werder Bremen - Panathinaikos over 2.5 Both teams need to win this game to have a chance to get to the next stage and both will be happy with wins they acheived in their respective competitions on the weekend. They had a 2-2 draw two weeks ago and Panathinaikos have gone over in both of thier away games in this competition. They are both attacking teams by nature and their respective defences are not the best, so you would expect for some goals to be scored here. Liverpool Liverpool have an excellent home record in this competition and despite losing to Tottenham on the weekend, they should have won quite easily with the chances they missed. If Torres plays against his old club, look to him to put those kind of chances into the back of the net. Liverpool drew with Athletico Madrid but had the chances once again to beat them and it was only a defensive mix up that allowed Athletico the opportunity to score. Look to Liverpool to be more lethal in front of goals to go to the top of the group with a win here, especially if Torres plays.

Re: Champions League Group Stage: Matchday 4- Tuesday 4th November I'm from Romania and I know a lot from here, Cfr is favorite, they have two important miss players, Trica, the captain and Didi a great forward but is not a big problem for Cluj because they have over 18 good players that can play in first team, I know how cfr play, my best bets here r cfr to win to nil, or to receive no goal, under also possible, will be very hard for bordeaux to make something in Cluj, so GL all.

Re: Champions League Group Stage: Matchday 4- Tuesday 4th November Its true and I'll say it again. The English top 4 teams are the bollox..They go out to win every game in Europe, home or away. They aint scared of anyone or any team. They wana qualify as quick as poss and get the job done to get back to the League. English teams have raised the Bar. Liverpool had the better of A.Madrid in my opinion in the last game could have won there and being a very consistant team like they are, should get the result they need at home after losing to spurs at the weekend aswell afetr dominating should get the job done. Chelsea with nearly a full squad again, bang on form Team against a team like Roma who are on the worst form possible, Chelsea should win this game easily I feel but this is Football, Last match was only 1-0 but Chelsea had alot of injuries at the time, but this time round should be able to hit Roma harder if things go right. Rome were a good team and strong last year, but this year I dont think they can compete with English top teams with al there problems at the moment. Chelsea should have the confidence to go anywhere and win I feel especially with how they are playing and I dont think ROma will be oto much. They will go there to win, but a Draw is highly possible. Inter milan shoudl f_cking whipp their opponents, but I dont trust them, and never have with away games, They are sh_t in Europe and I dont rate them to get far in this tournemant and even under Mourinho I dont trust em to get a result away to a cack team like this.. So no bet..

Re: Champions League Group Stage: Matchday 4- Tuesday 4th November Roma - Chelsea: [email protected] (totesport) 10/10 Roma has exhibited poor form in most games played thus far. Chelsea has played convincing and effective football in most games. Chelsea is the better team at the moment, but I don't think they are going to risk a whole lot today and would be happy to walk away with a point from Rome. I don't think Roma is palying well enough to challenge Chelsea and they won't be destroyed by the draw either. Liverpool - Atletico Madrid: [email protected] (VC bet) 10/10 I think both teams will show a defensive face since a draw is really a great result for both of them and keeps them in first and second place of the group with two games remaining after this one and at least two points ahead of either Marseille or Eindhoven. I think we'll see a slow 0-0 or 1-1 stalemate. Cluj - Bordeaux: [email protected] (coral) 10/10 I think the 1-0 Bordeaux win a couple of weeks ago reveals how the game will be played. It will be tight! Cluj can keep itself in second place or near second place with a draw (or a win), depending on what happens in the Roma-Chelsea game, so I don't think they will press too much. Bordeaux have not been convincing in their away matches and I don't think they can pull off anything more than a draw, which actually keeps them in the running. Good luck :hope

Drogba might be back and will be hungry for goals. Cant see anything else but Chelsea win

Re: Champions League Group Stage: Matchday 4- Tuesday 4th November Alright fellas, another (hopefully) exciting night of European football is on the way. From a betting perspective I am not fully confident on betting on any game tonight so small to medium stakes for this evening. I think I am going to go with the following: Liverpool v Athletico Madrid - LIVERPOOL win at 1.57 There have been some special European nights at Anfield over the years as I am sure all the PL Liverpool fans will agree. They stadium creates an atmosphere that is hard to match in Europe ( with the obvious exceptions :tongue2 ). I think Liverpool, in front of a full house, will go for it tonight. If Torres plays from the start I expect the big fella to be trying his best to score against his old freinds and employers. Liverpool have been performing well this season at home, even beating current European Champs Man Utd at home earlier this season. Athletico Madrid sit 6th in La Liga after a fairly positive start to their domestic campaign, they are no mugs and with Aguero up front they always pose a threat. All in all I believe Liverpool to be too strong with the Spaniards and therefore I am taking them as part of a Double/Treble. Barcelona V Basil - BARCELONA -2.0 at 1.40 AS has been stated before Barcelona have been able to beat anyone this year, Basil do not offer great opposition. Barca have the ability and skill to absolutly demolish Basil at the Nou Camp, they even demolished them in Switzerland 15 days ago (0-5). Barca are unlikely to rest players tonight but I feel even if they did and youngsters such as Bojan played, they would still be able to beat Basil comfortably. Roma V Chelski - CHELSKI win at 2.10 Roma have had a horrendous start to the season and find themselves in 17th position of seria a. They sit third in group A of the Champions League with 3 points from 3 games, losing away to Roma and at home to CL rookies Cluj on matchday 1. Given this start to their European campaign many may feel tonights encounter with Chelsea is a MUST win, however it can be also argued that the management and players would possibly prefer a win at the weekend when they go toe to toe with relegation opponants Bologna. I am not for a minute suggesting the Italians will rest players tonight but I feel they may have one eye on recapturing their domestic form before they can worry about competing in Europes hardest comeptition. Chelsea have talent all throughout their team, yes tonight they will miss Cole, Carvalho, Ballack and Essein but they have players such as Bridge, Ivanovic, Deco, J Cole, Drogba, Anelka, Terry etc etc to fill these positions. I think the manager will want three points tonight to solidify their position within group A. Roma go into this game off the back of 5 straight defeats in all competitions. Chelsea win for me :ok Gl all

AS Roma vs. Chelsea FC AS Roma’s coach Luciano Spalletti (...)
The only thing which makes me worry is that every weak strk is going to end one day. If/when Rossi, Mexes and Panucci wake up and play as real leaders, others from the team could follow them. Anyway, I also see value in odds, so good luck mate.

Why would Chelsea be happy with a draw against a Roma side with no form at all, imagine Roma wins and Bordeaux wins as well then it gets pretty tight in the top, I think Scolari will try to take advantage of the fact that they can gain 3 points, Roma hasnt played well even at home, Anelka is in form. Of course Chelsea would prefer to win and essentially wrap up promotion to the 16 CL teams....but in order to do so they have to open up the game a bit and press for a goal/s which might leave their defense vulnerable. Despite Roma's current problems they are playing at home and certainly have enough quality to do damage and then Chelsea might get zero points instead of one point that would still leave them in first place. Chelsea is the better team now, but at this stage of the CL groups I think a bit of strategy will affect how teams play.:ok

Re: Champions League Group Stage: Matchday 4- Tuesday 4th November 20:45 The Champions League Werder B.(-1.5) – Panathinaikos PICK Home Stake 10/10 Odds 1.98 UNIBET Table 1. Inter 3 2 1 0 7 2.Anorthosis 3 1 1 1 4 3.Werder 3 0 3 0 3 4.Panathinaikos 3 0 1 2 1 Werder is 3rd and Pao is 4th. Anorthosis play against Inter and it is hard match fot them. So Werder if win can be 2nd. This is important for them but and for Pao. They need to get some points if they want 2nd or 3rd place. But I think this is Home Win. Werder is stronger and they play in front of their fans. They played very good against Hertha and won 5-1. Diego was excellent and he scored one goal. Werder always play ofensive and they will play offensive and today. Pao is bad and when Werder scores they will open and looking for goal and Werder will create chances from counter-attacks. Werder use their chances well and they will destroy Pao. Pizarro and Diego will be key players tonight in Werder bog victory over Pao. GL

Re: Champions League Group Stage: Matchday 4- Tuesday 4th November general consesus seems to be that chelsea should win i dont agree with daks that they will settle for a point, i dnt think they will go out but i think that for 75 minutes they will go for a goal. Werder bremen seem a good bet at home to they look strong and organised and will be desperate to beat pana and have a chance of qualifiying. many times i have underestimated sporting lisbon with the win away at shaktar and liedson hitting top form i cant seem them losing this match. Barcelona odds on nailed on favourites for today its just a matter of how many goals will they score? take bojan and xavi to get a goal today and 4/5-0

Re: Champions League Group Stage: Matchday 4- Tuesday 4th November Sitting here thinking what I could do with tonights games, To me all the favourites look strong favourites imo. Im going to back all favourites -1 on the handicap and will see what kind of profit or loss we come out with. This may seem a bit silly to some but I can see a few teams winning by two goals or more tonight. If we get some of the 'bigger prices' it won't take many games to make a profit. We shall see anyway. :ok Anorthosis v Inter - Inter -1 @ 8/5 Bet365 Barca v Basel - Barca -1 @ 2/5 Stan James CFR Cluj v Bordeaux - CFR Cluj -1 @ 4/1 Bet365 Liverpool v Atletico Madrid - Liverpool -1 @ 15/8 Bet365 Marseille v PSV Eindhoven - Marseille -1 @ 13/5 Bet365 Roma v Chelsea - Chelsea -1 @ 10/3 Bet365 Sporting Lisbon v Shakhtar Donetsk - Sporting Lisbon -1 @ 23/10 Bet365 Werder Bremen v Panathinaikos - Werder Bremen @ 11/10 Betfred :hope
