Nade's console challenge - Failed

Nade

Recommended Posts

Not a conventional challenge - The challenge is to make enough money for a games console (PS3 or XBox360) by April 29th (Release date of GTAIV). This follows on from a post i made in the GTAIV thread in tech and gaming where i said i should have done one as i'm in great form. Basically i've decided to ensure there's still enough money in my pkr account to feel comfortable playing at the 50/1 tables after i withdraw and creating the challenge gives me that extra incentive to keep on improving. Target amount is around $1000. Will play on the 50/1 cash tables, mainly 6 handed and keep daily updates on how it's going with how many hours played and profit/loss made. :hope

Which year are you hoping to complete this by? Unless its 2009 at the earliest, I'm afraid you've failed already mate. :$

Re: Nade's console challenge Ok, who was that giggling at the back? Took 3hrs off to watch the man utd match, got my head sorted and back in the zone ... With good rewards ... This hand kicked it off: The pattern of the hand might be quite familiar to some ... I dedicate this to AlunB :) ;). Table #7148611 - Dandy Don's 1 Starting Hand #360934640 Last Hand #360933685 Game Type: HOLD'EM Limit Type: NO LIMIT Table Type: RING Money Type: REAL MONEY Blinds are now $0.50/$1 Button is at seat 6 Seat 1: mattie19861 - $182.77 Seat 2: love2win - $72.70 Seat 3: brento6 - $75.29 Seat 4: 27Nade - $107.80 Seat 5: Straight77 - $68.60 Seat 6: mutuu - $96 Moving Button to seat 1 love2win posts small blind ($0.50) brento6 posts big blind ($1) Shuffling Deck Dealing Cards Dealing [8s 8h] to 27Nade 27Nade calls $1 Straight77 raises to $4 mutuu calls $4 mattie19861 folds love2win folds brento6 calls $4 27Nade calls $4 Dealing Flop [6d 2c 8d] brento6 checks 27Nade checks Straight77 bets $8 mutuu calls $8 brento6 folds 27Nade calls $8 Dealing Turn [8c] 27Nade checks Straight77 checks mutuu checks Dealing River [Js] 27Nade bets $20 Straight77 folds mutuu raises to $84 (all-in) 27Nade calls $84 27Nade shows [8s 8h] mutuu shows [Jh Ad] Taking Rake of $3 from pot 1 mutuu has Two Pairs: Jacks, 8s 27Nade has Four of a kind: 8s 27Nade wins $205.50 with: Four of a kind: 8s Seat 1: mattie19861 - $182.77 Seat 2: love2win - $72.20 Seat 3: brento6 - $71.29 Seat 4: 27Nade - $217.30 Seat 5: Straight77 - $56.60 Seat 6: mutuu - $0 End Of Hand #360934640 Ok, to be honest i hadn't planned on check calling the flop but remembered about my image being tight and so decided i had to take the chance by calling instead of c/r. If i'd been totally concentrating i'd have bet out at the flop. Feel a bit of a dimwit not implementing the sound advice in the strategy section of betting out, but with a bit of luck this proves that check calling can work ;) On the river i was praying for a diamond thinking they were on flush draw but J came and i ofc have to make a value bet, totally not expecting the all in ! cha ching :dude. That table went dead after stacking too many - left +$160 Next big hand i hit not many hands after getting to the table Table #7152639 - Maida Vale Hall 3 Starting Hand #361032419 Last Hand #361031255 Game Type: HOLD'EM Limit Type: NO LIMIT Table Type: RING Money Type: REAL MONEY Blinds are now $0.50/$1 Button is at seat 5 Seat 1: sallllut - $46.40 Seat 2: DUBBRIAN - $159.50 Seat 4: HCastorp - $126 Seat 5: 27Nade - $101.65 Seat 6: Famine222 - $66.80 Moving Button to seat 6 sallllut posts small blind ($0.50) DUBBRIAN posts big blind ($1) Shuffling Deck Dealing Cards Dealing [Jc Ah] to 27Nade HCastorp folds 27Nade raises to $4 Famine222 calls $4 sallllut folds DUBBRIAN folds Dealing Flop [Qh Jd As] 27Nade bets $4 Famine222 raises to $8 27Nade raises to $24 Famine222 calls $24 Dealing Turn [5s] 27Nade bets $40 Famine222 calls $38.80 (all-in) Returning $1.20 to 27Nade uncalled 27Nade shows [Jc Ah] Famine222 shows [Kh Qd] Dealing River [Ac] Taking Rake of $3 from pot 1 27Nade has Full House, Aces over Jacks 27Nade wins $132.10 with: Full House, Aces over Jacks Seat 1: sallllut - $45.90 Seat 2: DUBBRIAN - $158.50 Seat 4: HCastorp - $126 Seat 5: 27Nade - $166.95 Seat 6: Famine222 - $0 End Of Hand #361032419 I really hated the min raise on the flop, it screamed uber strength in a straight or higher two pair but his call to my re-re-raise signalled i was ahead, but wasn't expecting KQ :loon. Later won this hand against other big stack: Game Type: HOLD'EM Limit Type: NO LIMIT Table Type: RING Money Type: REAL MONEY Blinds are now $0.50/$1 Button is at seat 5 Seat 1: ma69nu - $37.70 Seat 2: DUBBRIAN - $284.70 Seat 3: liosi - $104.75 Seat 5: 27Nade - $163.35 Seat 6: XXTheFoxXX - $61.18 Moving Button to seat 6 ma69nu posts small blind ($0.50) DUBBRIAN posts big blind ($1) Shuffling Deck Dealing Cards Dealing [8s Ts] to 27Nade liosi folds 27Nade calls $1 XXTheFoxXX folds ma69nu raises to $3 DUBBRIAN calls $3 27Nade calls $3 Dealing Flop [7h 8c Td] ma69nu bets $4 DUBBRIAN raises to $8 27Nade raises to $20 ma69nu folds DUBBRIAN calls $20 Dealing Turn [5c] DUBBRIAN checks 27Nade bets $30 DUBBRIAN calls $30 Dealing River [2h] DUBBRIAN checks 27Nade bets $30 liosi: nade has straight. dubbian has a pair or 2 DUBBRIAN folds Taking Rake of $3 from pot 1 27Nade doesn't show 27Nade wins $110 Seat 1: ma69nu - $30.70 Seat 2: DUBBRIAN - $231.70 Seat 3: liosi - $104.75 Seat 5: 27Nade - $220.35 Seat 6: XXTheFoxXX - $61.18 End Of Hand #361054465 Made a stupid limp pre flop when not totally concentrating again and didn't want to call the $2 but reckoned i might as well follow it through with the big stack in the hand i had some good implied odds. Post flop i put them on a pair and open ended draw, tried to get some more on the river with a value bet but they gave up which was annoying as ever but was just happy to win :tongue2. So through adversity and embarrassment i somehow came through the day with $99 profit. :D

Re: Nade's console challenge Ah but you cancelled the challenge already! Can't brag now! I joke, I joke, well done good perserverance. 2 buy ins is f*** all at the end of the day variance wise, I only beat myself up a bit at my own mistakes not the old RNG screwin me.

Come on Nade - you know better than that - how does the software "know" you are doing a challenge?
I e-mailed them to warn them. :lol When you meet your target, the loss at the start will make this all the sweeter. Good luck Nade. :ok

Re: Nade's console challenge Weird day at the tables, totally up and down all day long, swung from $100 down to $150 up, ended up $52 which i'll take. Could have been a lot better if not for 2 terrible calls costing $60 and not getting paid when flopped a set, it turned out opponent had over pair pocket QQ :loon They played it so passively QQ was the last hand i put them on but n/m. Also folded many hands i was v tempted to play and turns out would have won a lot of money. Also thrown in there was some random person berating me for a full hour at a table for being the 'tightest player in the history of poker' Funny thing is that was before i'd even played a hand and left there after some friendly banter $30 up. Basically not a standard day today and played tired tonight and that cost some money, not totally happy but any profit will do. So 2 days gone and +$151

Re: Nade's console challenge - $151 up Haven't played yet today as wasn't feeling well. Just wanted to post up screenshots to prove all wins/losses made since the start of the challenge. No trackers work on pkr so only thing i can use is the cash game history pages which aren't clear but they'll have to do. challenge1ty1.th.jpg challengefx1.th.jpg Profit/Loss columns on the far right.

hahahaha ditto Two things to add, start playing somewhere where tracker works, it will improve your game a lot. And also are you getting rakeback at PKR?

Re: Nade's console challenge - $151 up Gaf - Trust me, start of this year until about 3weeks ago was the worst run of my life or 'short term bad variance' and i'm still here battling away. Reason as i said before that i was uber stressed was because my pride was hurting more than anything, nothing to do with the money, i've lost more than $170 in one hand before, i know that's life ;). Rob - Thinking about playing on FTP in the future which allows trackers. As for rake, yes i have rakeback on pkr - just got $165 worth of rakeback today :nana. This will be going towards the $1000 target but i'm not going to add it to the how much i'm in profit total.

Re: Nade's console challenge - $151 up Very nice day today especially as i felt ill so didn't play too much apart from 1 tourn. Made $200 on one table, plus came 11th for $32 in a freeroll put on for players who've made 50k pkr points in the last month. Was chip leader going into the final 20 but lost half my stack to a 4 outter on the river and got a bit hasty going in with K10o after a min raiser who had AK, but i'll take that result easily as think that was my 3rd MTT since i last played a BPP game and that was ages ago. challenge3jo5.th.jpg So that's $197 in cash profit + the $32 for the tournament = $229. Funny hand from tournament: Table Type: TOURNAMENT Money Type: TOURNAMENT CHIPS Blinds are now $30/$60 Button is at seat 3 Seat 1: thebigstack - $1,340 Seat 2: 27Nade - $2,290 Seat 3: TurkMaGurk - $6,720 Seat 4: TomboNAC - $1,080 Seat 5: JASBiH - $2,260 Seat 6: shumkanator - $2,850 Seat 7: Rikimaru84 - $1,950 Seat 8: magnet1010 - $4,790 Seat 9: Jaam69 - $2,220 Seat 10: harambasa - $1,570 Moving Button to seat 4 JASBiH posts small blind ($30) shumkanator posts big blind ($60) Shuffling Deck Dealing Cards Dealing [Jd Td] to 27Nade Rikimaru84 raises to $120 magnet1010 folds Jaam69 calls $120 harambasa folds thebigstack folds 27Nade calls $120 TurkMaGurk folds TomboNAC folds JASBiH folds shumkanator calls $120 Dealing Flop [8c Qc Qs] shumkanator checks Rikimaru84 bets $120 Jaam69 folds 27Nade raises to $480 shumkanator folds Rikimaru84 calls $480 Dealing Turn [Kc] Rikimaru84 checks 27Nade checks Dealing River [2h] Rikimaru84 bets $180 27Nade raises to $1,690 (all-in) Rikimaru84: /cry Rikimaru84 folds and shows [Ad Ah] 27Nade shows [Jd Td] 27Nade has One Pair: Queens 27Nade wins $1,830 Rikimaru84: omg Seat 1: thebigstack - $1,340 Seat 2: 27Nade - $3,340 Seat 3: TurkMaGurk - $6,720 Seat 4: TomboNAC - $1,080 Seat 5: JASBiH - $2,230 Seat 6: shumkanator - $2,730 Seat 7: Rikimaru84 - $1,170 Seat 8: magnet1010 - $4,790 Seat 9: Jaam69 - $2,100 Seat 10: harambasa - $1,570 End Of Hand #362570124 shumkanator: PWNED Rikimaru84: fuking bluffer Especially great as first time someone has said pwnd when i've won a hand :lol Big cash game hand : Table #7173661 - Bombadil's Starting Hand #362440461 Last Hand #362439878 Game Type: HOLD'EM Limit Type: NO LIMIT Table Type: RING Money Type: REAL MONEY Blinds are now $0.50/$1 Button is at seat 4 Seat 1: brascall - $38.71 Seat 2: Vegaaa - $112.44 Seat 3: 27Nade - $127 Seat 4: ILikeBigBluffs - $166.87 Seat 5: kiezkalle - $20.90 Seat 6: Dickie26 - $140.79 Moving Button to seat 5 Dickie26 posts small blind ($0.50) brascall posts big blind ($1) Shuffling Deck Dealing Cards Dealing [Ah Tc] to 27Nade Vegaaa folds 27Nade raises to $5 ILikeBigBluffs calls $5 kiezkalle folds Dickie26 folds brascall folds Dealing Flop [Th Ts 8d] 27Nade bets $5 ILikeBigBluffs calls $5 Dealing Turn [Ks] 27Nade checks ILikeBigBluffs bets $16 27Nade calls $16 Dealing River [Qs] 27Nade bets $23 ILikeBigBluffs raises to $140.87 (all-in) 27Nade calls $101 (all-in) Returning $39.87 to ILikeBigBluffs uncalled 27Nade shows [Ah Tc] ILikeBigBluffs shows [Kc Qc] Taking Rake of $3 from pot 1 ILikeBigBluffs has Two Pairs: Kings, Queens 27Nade has Three of a Kind: 10s 27Nade wins $252.50 with: Three of a Kind: 10s Seat 1: brascall - $37.71 Seat 2: Vegaaa - $112.44 Seat 3: 27Nade - $252.50 Seat 4: ILikeBigBluffs - $39.87 Seat 5: kiezkalle - $20.90 Seat 6: Dickie26 - $140.29 End Of Hand #362440461 Reason i raise 5bb pre is i raised 4bb the previous hand and so figured if i raise 4bb again people will call me down with crap thinking im making plays so wanted to show extra strength. On the flop i bet out as it disguises hitting the 10 and i always bet out on flops. Check the turn hoping to look weak and i get action, not concerned by the flush draw here with the call on the flop, think i can also discount K10 here as they would have slow played it i feel. Put in a valuation bet on river and get good rewards. Knew they didn't have KK or QQ as they would have re-raised pre flop (aggressive player) Nor K10 as i say they would have checked the turn but Q10 was a possiblity but never folding there against that player. (I'm certain they put me on AK) So 3 days gone: $380 up + rakeback $165 = $545 or $455 from the 'target'. With what i've made thus far i can actually get an xbox + GTAIV but a target's a target and said i'd only withdraw when get to $1000 ;) Planning a big sesh tomorrow :tongue2 :hope

Re: Nade's console challenge - $380 up Between me and you (whoever's reading) let's jusst call it a 'bad day' ;). Still stuck $200 at the moment. Got stacked (again) after hitting set under set :eyes. Got stacked not long before on a different table after hitting 2 pair, opponent had a set :eyes. Lost count but stacked at least 4 times today. Ouch. If i was prone to tilt now i'd have lost $1k easy today i reckon.

Re: Nade's console challenge - $380 up Ohhhhhh such a perfect day ... ------------ -$307 ------------ Just one of those days today where you miss nearly every flop and the ones you do hit end up getting beaten. Looking back through my last few weeks daily progression this result puts me back into the 'norm' of about average $100 up daily whereas yesterdays big profit was a kind of blip on the map. How about that for 2days variance Gaf ;). Is it possible to lead a quiet poker life? My cash game life has always been the same - up and down every day. Anyone have any secrets to just plodding away not getting stacked much or stacking others. Suppose that could be a bit dull though.

You're still well up, and still with a BB/100 that probably isn't far off what you would expect if you were totally crushing these tables - you've not experienced any significant variance in this challenge yet ;)
My cash game life has always been the same - up and down every day.
You show me a player that isn't like that and I'll show you a game that's probably fixed ;)
