Re: Taunton 07/02/08 Hernando Royal 2.20 Taunton (Each Way) I saw this make its flat debut at Pontefract behind Hero Worship and it ran a cracker on heavy ground and it took a while for the penny to drop before the horse picked up nicely. I was sure it would improve and it was then third before winning its 1st race. Similar scenario over hurdles, 8th on its debut on soft ground and RP analysis stated:

Hernando Royal travelled well for a long way, he didn't appear to get home. He'll come on for the experience, and might prove better over shorter.

It ran over 21f that day and then turned out at Fakenham over 20f on good to soft and finished 2nd, 10 lengths behind La Estrella but not disgraced and RP analysis stated:

He led at the seventh and was soon stretching along nicely in front and made a good fist of it with La Estrella until that rival really got the upper hand between the last two hurdles. He looks the sort to improve with experience and can soon go one better in a similar event.

It looks to be going the right way and will have to beat the odds on Nicholls horse Pierrot Lunaire but at 5-6 in a 14 horse race that does not interest me and it was only 2nd in a class 4 novice hurdle despite Nicholls form at the moment. The selection is dropped in trip and is ridden by a 7lb claimer, Graham Lee was on board last time out and goes on the ground. 14-1 with Betfred seems huge to me and i'm definitely on each way.

Re: Taunton 07/02/08 4.20 - Never So Blue Had my doubts when I saw the second fav is such a good course specialist, but remembered Never So Blue beat him by 6 lengths a week ago and off the same weigths will probaby do the same. A quick reappearance is most of the time a tip in itself. Would have won 2 days ago and the fall is not a worry for me. It was just bad luck and the horse is a very good jumper. Looks like trainer thinks the same. 2.25 @ SJ B.O.G.

My bet today consists of three horses from one yard, I will be backing them in an E/W Trixie and they are; Tintinhull 2.20 Karanja 3.20 Double Header 3.50 The 2.20 should be a good race, but if J White gets the run he wants, He might just prove to good to catch.

:welcometo the punters lounge mate, we know what you're backing but we don't know why. We try provide some reasoning with our selections so if others also fancy the same horse they may be swayed with your comments/analysis etc. Good luck with your horses, any reason why you fancy them apart from being from the same yard?

Reasoning	A class 5 race and Celtic Son is a very good horse, who will find these easy to beat. At least he shouldn't be this price. 3rd and 2nd in his last two attempts in better company. Proven on ground, course and distance. Can't see why the fav is that short, really. Timmy knows him well and has a great chance today.

Tintinhul in the 2.20 is having his first run for Tintinhul for V Dartnall, the horse has been laid off for over 300 days, but I know that the hosre will be fit and will get 2m1f, the trainer can work wonders with horses like this one that may have been 'written off', but in my opinion the man is a genius. Karanja in the 3.20 has some very credible form in races better than this although he has been laid off, again I have a feeling he will be fit and ready to go, the price doesnt offer so much value now as he is as short as 5/2 now. Double Header I'm afraid is just making my bet up. But you know what they say good things come in threes. I wish you all luck with your selections.

Re: Taunton 07/02/08 3.50 race Wild tonto has been the subject of a gamble today from 12's to 6's & therefore there must be a word out for that one. Disappointyed last 2 starts & hasnt won off this mark as yet. Sandymac takes a drop in class today after runnig 7th in a decent handicap hurdle at Ascot last time out following 2 nov wins. Looks quite well off at the weights as well today & stands a leading chance. Pipe has 2 in the race & both must be respected with the better price one Saratogne looking well handicapped now. no 5yo has taken this race in last 10 years & horses aged 6+ have won 7 of the last 10. Reasoning	Celtic Son is another class animal running in a poor race and I think he will win. He was narrowly touched off in a Class 3 claiming chase last time behind Cousin Nicky. He used to be a class horse and Timmy Murphy takes the ride. He drops back down to hurdles and this is a poor claiming hurdle. The horse has decent form over hurdles and I can see him coming back to a wee bit of form.

Reasoning	I layed this horse last time when he took a tumble when travelling well. I had no worries about his form that day, I just felt the distance was too short. He steps back up in distance today to 2m 7f and I think this will suit him. The horse is in great form and looks to have the best form of the field. Providing his fall last time hasnt dented his confidence too much, he should win.

Reasoning	Triggernometry actually runs against Never So blue but I still think he looks exceptional value. There looked to be something wrong last time and I think the run can be ignored. The time before that he had run some decent races. Today he takes a drop in grade and I think he could take advantage of it. I also feel as if the step up in trip will help his jumping.

Re: Taunton 07/02/08 4.50 Rich Normand 7.5 pts e.w Form is not inspiring at all but lto in handicap company which is more her level made reasonably eye catching progress at a shorter distance under a very patient ride by todays jock, has been dropped for that effort in the handicap but with 7 pound claimer still on it looks lightly weighted. Trainer had a recent winner too.
