Re: Tennis 31st - 6th

Looking forward to a nice profitable season from you Chris so no pressure!! Are you going to be running any of your Tennis Systems in 2008?
I'm not sure mate - I didn't bother to collect any data in 2007 so not sure how any of them went:$. The "Qualifiers" system was the one that had the most success, and I still think the principles of it apply - ever more so perhaps with the awful scheduling job the ATP has done. My approach for 2008 is going to be much more based on trading and finding angles on matches. It's what I should have been doing for the past few years, as tennis is the ideal sport for it, and I feel is a far better approach than simply pre-match betting. So the stuff I'm going to put up on PL will be more like thoughts and ideas on how a match will go rather than straight tips. Apart from big multiples in the first round of slams, obviously:ok

Re: Tennis 31st - 6th One name which sticks out for me is Marin Cilic, playing in Chennai, he finished the season with a strong St Petersburg Open and looks as though he could be a star in the future. He has a favourable side of the draw = (1st round - Viktor Troicki. Possible 2nd round meeting with - Nicolas Mahut, Possible 3rd round meeting with - Marcos Baghdatis, Possible Semi - Jurgen Melzer, Final probably Rafa Nadal) Although most of these are hard opponents, I think that he will have a fair chance against all of them and will definatly fair well against Marcos Baghdatis if he plays anything like he did last year. At 28/1, there is definate value in backing him E/W As for Adelaide Ernest Gulbis at 40/1 carries a lot of value, E/W he has a great chance of making the final and showed in the latter parts of last year he can be a problem for anyone, even Lleyton Hewitt who he could meet en-route. Ernest Gulbis to win Adelaide International, E/W - 40/1 (E/W 1/2, First 2) and Marin Cilic to win the Chennai open E/W, 28/1 (E/W 1/2, First 2)

Re: Tennis 31st - 6th Not very much value in the matches tbh.

Calleri v Robredo
This is a tricky match for Robredo to start the year, but I think he will cope as he is the more consistent of the two players. Calleri is very inconsistent on the other hand, and youi never know what to expect from him - e.g US Open 2007, sublime 4 set win over Hewitt, then a tame straight sets loss against Monaco. I think that Robredo (Robredo - Best priced 1.50 @ Skybet) can take care of Calleri here. Cilic v Troicki Troicki had a good Umag competition last year where he beat his compatriot Novak Djokovic on the way to a Semi Final appearance, but other than that hje did not make a impression on the main tour. As for Cillic, he started to make some progress and can start the season off well with a moral boosting win here. (Cilic - Best price 1.57 @ Boylesports) Seppi v Santoro Fabrice Santoro is very muchy a veteran, but is always fit to take on anyone. He is still ranked inside the top 50 at the age of 35, and doesn't look to be fading away as of yet. I think he can easily beat 23 year old Seppi, who would prefer to be playing on Clay, but did start to show some hard form in Vienna towards the end of the year. But, I tink Santoro's expierince will be enough to get him over the line. (Santoro - Best priced 1.80 @ Partybets) Johansson v Andreev I think Andreev is a very talented player who can play amazing, but he never really sustain this form and can play absolutly horrible on other days. I never have seen him play too well on hard courts, so I am backing the consistent and expierienced Swede to defeat him here. H2H is 1-0 in favour of Johansson and I think he can improve upon this record tomorrow, reason being the surface more than anything. (Johansson - Best priced 2.32 @ Partybets) Other players to add to the accy's (not worth writing up, too short prices) are: Del Potro @ 1.31 Stepanek @ 1.16 Moya @ 1.25 Youzhny @ 1.16 Tipsaravic @ 1.20 Murray @ 1.28 Tursunov @ 1.16 and Nadal obviously My personal bets would be: Murray x Moya x Cilic x Robredo @ Around 3.7 Longshot - Johansson x Santoro x Moya x Murray x Cilic x Robredo @ Around 15.7

Re: Tennis 31st - 6th I'm not a fan of the first week, for the past few years I've gone at it pretty hard and lost quite a bit. It's a complete minefield this week, absolutely no form to go on and you're completely guessing on fitness levels (unless you've got some info). I'm planning a massive assault on the Australian Open and I'm not going to risk having a shocker and losing 25% of my bankroll in Week 1. I might have a go on some of the matches in Qatar later in the week as it's on TV and I'll be watching all of the coverage. Definately can't be bothered to stay up all night to watch scoreboards in Adelaide and Chennai and I don't want to be playing at a disadvantage.

Ik wil mijn titel hier verdedigen." sporza.be Translation: He says he only played 2 duels last 10months. He is only practising for 2 weeks now. The presssure en the finess in a tennis game is different. I hope i can win some confidence. But I feelgood in Chennai I love the surface.I want to defend my title.

Re: Tennis 31st - 6th KARLOVIC is my outright in Qatar at 10s Stan James. 3 tournament wins last year, his serve just seems to be improving & had good finish to the year a win in sweden & semi in basel & seems to have a nice draw here!! looking at the matches Koubek could be nice value to beat Ljubicic as Koubek beat him in Madrid in October & surely the croatian is low on confidence!! good luck!

Malisse+H.T.Lee+Falla.:hope
Think you might have a few problems with Lee. Mirnyi was excellent here last year and given the wildcard I think he'll be up for defending the points. Lee normally doesn't start the season too well.
