Bowles' Jump season 07/08 - Ended +30% yield

Recommended Posts

This year i intend to follow in Mowgli's example of retaining a list & backing those horses from that list. I will no doubt add a few more into the list during the season. Busy compiling the detailed list now but will hopefully be ready in time for the big meetings ahead. 1st 2 on the list are Tidal Bay J Howard Johnson Snap tie P Hobbs

Re: Bowles' Jump season 07/08 Good luck mate. Will start a jumps specialist thread in the next few weeks after most horses have had a run and are race fit and raring to go. The signals coming from the Kauto camp are don't expect it to win, it needs the run. Must be opposed in my opinion. I'm liking the look of both Ashley Brook and Monets Garden for Sunday. If you fancy a horse really strongly and it doesn't win make sure you check the analysis or see the race to find out why. I'm sure you will have faith in your horses and Snap Tie looks like a definite future winner. My old favourites will be going in my 10 to follow. :ok I'm sure having a list of genuine performers will prove profitable for you.

Re: Bowles' Jump season 07/08

Bet 1 Sunday 28/10 Aintree Old Roan Chase ASHLEY BROOK 7/1 Corals 10pts win With Kauto Star only having its first gallop this week, it may pay to back against it. Only Corals are offering odds at present, but i know faces have already got 10's on Ashley Brook.
Fell when in front 4 out
Bet 2 1.40 Aintree TIDAL BAY 10pts win @ 10/11 Hills One of the best 2m 4f last season with a great effort at Cheltenham & then winning at Aintrree on final start. Gets weight all round today & should make a winning start.
1st @ 4/6 :clap Bets 2 Wins 1 Staked 20pts Returns 19.1pts

Re: Bowles' Jump season 07/08 i am sticking with State of Play as a horse to follow this season. Thrives when fresh as seen in last 2 seasons winning 1st time up. Ran away with the Hennessey last year when it was my ante post tip for the race & then didnt race until the gold cup which was against it in terms of stats etc Trainer knows how to get them ready & has the champ up on board. 3.25 wetherby STATE OF PLAY 10pts win @ 5/2 Ladbrokes

Re: Bowles' Jump season 07/08 State of play was 2nd. today Thurles 2.45 2m 6f chase Forget the past was deemed good enough to take on the best last season in the gold Cup at Cheltenham & finished 10th. Its winning form incl here has mainly been on soft to heavy ground so 1st time up may be vulnerable. Our Ben has a 1st time up record of 1-1-2-4. Has won on any ground & would have won here last season but for a last fence tumble. Is a 3m horse these days & hopefully will finally show that potential in winning some decent race this term as an 8yo. Adamant approach is getting on & would have to be a gallant effort to beat the above 2 today on level weights. Lightonthebroom ran creditably when 15l third to Taranis on Saturday but this too soon to have any chnace of winning here. It does get 10lb off the others & wont be surprised to see it up there in 3rd or 4th. OUR BEN 10pts win @ 5/2 Ladbrokes

Re: Bowles' Jump season 07/08 Our Ben could only manage 3rd. Expect a few bets at Cheltenham over the weekend but only 1 today 3.05 SNAP TIE 10pts win @ 4/1 betfred One of my horses to follow this season & this looks a decent race. This will be a festival winner come March if it takes to the course, will find out at around 3.10 today!

Re: Bowles' Jump season 07/08 another close one with Snap tie let down by its poor jump at the last, still one to follow for the season in my book. today 2.00 Franchoek 10pts win @ 5/4 Betdirect Can follow similar path to Katchit who went on unbeaten through the season & won at both spring festivals. 2.35 Vodka Bleu 5pts ew @ 10/1 Skybet One of my horses from last season & i tipped it up massively in this race when favourite last year. Was 2nd to Exotic Dancer that day & should again be thereabouts.

Re: Bowles' Jump season 07/08 yep a small profit made yesterday, i was annoyed yet again by Vodka Blu's performance & will now scratch that from my horses list. L'Antartique came up on my trends thread to land the money & that horse will no doubt win again. 20pts staked 22.5pts returned today 2.20 VOY PER USTEDES 10pts win @ 10/11 paddy power Hasty prince now a NR & you can still get this price !! A race to watch IMO, Voy per Ustedes is one of my favs (like Mowgli) & this could be the best of the year if fit. 11/10 against handicappers, this looks a snip & it will go in myn thread as its one of my horses to follow over the season. 2.55 LEAD ON 5pts ew @ 8/1 Ladbrokes I have done the trends & Lead On features very heavily (see my trends thread for final 4). Hobbs knows what is needed to win this race taking it with Rooster Booster & Detroit City in recent years. 8/1 is a cracking price IMO.

Re: Bowles' Jump season 07/08 my strategy this year was to just back the big races plus a few decent hadicap races on the way. Not started great but hopefully will pick up. Bet 1 Ashley Brook Fell 7/1 adv (SP 11/2) Bet 2 Tidal Bay 1st 10/11 adv (SP 4/6) Bet 3 State of Play 2nd 5/2 adv (SP 15/8) Bet 4 Our Ben 3rd 5/2 adv (SP 7/4) Bet 5 Snap Tie 2nd 4/1 adv (SP 3/1) Bet 6 Franchoek 1st 5/4 adv (SP 6/5) Bet 7 Vodka Bleu Unpl 10/1 adv (SP 8/1) Bet 8 Voy per Ustedes 2nd 10/11 adv (SP 8/11) Bet 9 Lead on Unpl 8/1 adv (SP 4/1) Only 2 winners to date but 4 placed horses also. Note the 2 handicap races this weekend ended with 2 unplaced horses. What i do notice is that each bet, i have been able to better the SP by taking the Early price !

Re: Bowles' Jump season 07/08 as usual, i only like to back horses in this thread that have a bit of quality about them & again these should give a good account: 3.30 Newcastle KATCHIT 10pts win @ 6/4 Sporting bet 2.05 Newbury INGLIS DREVER 10pts win @ 9/4 Betfred 2.40 Newbury DENMAN 5pts ew @ 5/1 skybet

thought i'd cracked it when the 1st 2 went in & then i realised Katchit was really up against it & it was a false favourite. I still think it ran well & it didnt jump the last fluently but will be better at Cheltenham come March no doubt. Harchibald had its day today. 30pts staked 73.75pts returned Could have been better if i had gone for the win on Denman in this thread but i knew it wouldnt be out of the 1st 3 & the sticky ground kept putting me off.

today over to Ireland 1.40 Fairyhouse SKY'S THE LIMIT 10pts win @ 9/4 Bet365 (BOG) well regarded after winning the 2006 Coral Cup at Cheltenham. Now novice chasing won 1st time up convincingly & should go onto better things. LIkes the ground & trip is ideal
1st @ 9/4 :ok 10pts staked 32.5pts returned

Nice results mate, will you be following Katchit or do you think we have seen the best of it already? Internet went mental on me yesterday so couldn't check results and how everyone had done on here. I'm on Inglis Drever for the World Hurdle, had already backed it and Chief Dan George but can't see Inglis getting beat if it runs at Cheltenham and lumped some more on it.

Re: Bowles' Jump season 07/08 Nice few days mate. I remember saying you had Denman ante-post last Sunday. I cannot believe the price he went off at. I was there at Newbury and I must say, it was one of the most impressive runs I have ever seen. He was in a different league to that lot. I think he surprised Harry Findlay aswell, he was interviewed in the winners enclosure before the race and he even said he had only had a 'small' bet on him... Still up for Tingle Creek day, should be another good race...
