Kirklees - 4.05 Goodwood (WIN NAP) Kirklees is Godolphins 1^st choice and really looks like the one to beat, despite the 3yr old stats being against it. It went from maidens to Group 2 races and has not been disgraced and also was snapped up by Godolphin from Mark Johnstone. It had picked up prize money of £3.886 until Godolphin sent it for an Italian Group 1 and it then won £177.480 from that race. It stepped up to 10f last time out in a class 2 race and travelled like a dream, quickening clear for Dettori and being eased before the line. The form of that race or the Italian Group 1 is nothing special but I can’t see this horse contesting listed races for much longer after this race. It has placed form here in a Group 2, won on good ground, and won over 10f last time out. Highly progressive and worthy favourite but has Illustrious Blue to beat.

Boring but I am napping that too for a 1 pt win and have added some reasons in the daily thread that basically agree with your reasons outlined.

Re: Wednesday NAPS - 26/09/07 4.05 Kirklees (nap) Was impressive lto coming back from a long break, Godolphin first string and recieves a nice weight for his age, Windsor knot is a huge danger on last years form but I believe Kirklees is to classy for this lot and should really be running in group races after this one. At odds against I think it's a great price considering he's a group 1 winner in Italy aswell.

Re: Wednesday NAPS - 26/09/07 I really fancy kirklees too but to break the trend going to jib in NAP - DBEST 3.25 Listowel - Been running really well over jumps recently againast some fair sorts, and now switched to the flat off a lowly mark. If it can translate that form back in this sphere, and no reason why it shouldn't, as the ground and trip should both be fine, then must have a serious chance in this grade today. Likely danger Alpha Jet is rated 22lbs inferior over jumps, but has got to give the selection 5lbs today.

Re: Wednesday NAPS - 26/09/07 Redcar 15:15 It will be hard to beat Bustan in his old form, being far the best horse here, but disappointing his last three starts, and he is'nt well known round here. EFIDIUM is the valuable option who is Course/Distance winner, and will race with reasonable weight(9-3). He was in the place on both last starts in 1m. Neil Brown is a very capable jockey with 21% Winning-Rate for 4yo+ at Redcar this year. (EW) is the pick GL

With jockey/trainer combining for a good winner yesterday at Brighton, and nothing to suggest progression has ended all looks in place for a big run today in wide open affair. 1pt win.

Re: Wednesday NAPS - 26/09/07 Bergonzi 4:40 GOODWOOD Ran well LTO finishing a close third here at Goodwood over just a furlong more than today. This was their best race behind Kahara who looks a decent horse for Cumani. Bergonzi led in this race and looked good but was unable to quicken up in the last 50 yards so maybe todays distance is just what it needs. His last victory was over this distance today at Windsor so this backs up that 1m3f will benefit him. The ground is no problem either with Bergonzi having good places in all types. Trainer Gosden is in excellent form with 7 wins in the last fortnight including his last three with the jockey on the mount today Fortune. WIN NAP please.

Re: Wednesday NAPS - 26/09/07 5.25 - Perth - Irish Raptor. 1PT Win. Horse has developed into a good chaser, ran well in the Topham last time out and horse can produce some good hurdles form here on a 40lb lower mark.

Reasoning

BAAN has'nt won on AW track yet(only once third), but this is far too easy groups than the past. We don't have to forget and ignore that last year he was on a Group3 affairs(won as well). Tonight will have the top jockey on board J Spencer and that might be the key to succes. The selection would'nt have a problem with the distance. Ladbrokes @ 15.00 (Back) Reasoning JAYANJAY was unlucky in his last run, beaten only by 1L and a hd by Anfield Dream, having back of him Nautical (1/2L). Tonight he will race with better weight on his back comparing with the two mentioned horses. He has'nt won yet on AW track, but the he did knocked the door last time. He is a distance winner, racing in the past with pretty good Groups. I think he deserves an EW chance in a good price, now with the canditate Champion on board Seb Sanders. GL
