Youssef
Re: UEFA Cup Winner - 2007/8 The question is not "who's going to win it?". The question is "who's going to lose in the final to Bayern?".
gerrie26681
Re: UEFA Cup Winner - 2007/8 For me Atletico Madrid scream at value at 15/1. Bayern Munich have looked awesome so far tho and with a quality squad of 18 players, I think they will win the UEFA Cup unless some big name enters from the Champions League. drawback05
Re: UEFA Cup Winner - 2007/8 Dear all, you may get a bit of value now, but until you know who drops in from the CL you are betting blind in a big way. With the English clubs owning the CL semis, you can bet some handy Spanish and Italian clubs may well fall into this competition at the latter stages. I know Bayern want this, but surely of primary concern to them this year is qualifying for next year's CL. They are doing well now, and if that lasts they may well go a long way on this, just not with my money at the prohibitive odds offered above. I just can't see any point in investing now in what is really an unfair market from the bookies perspective.

Danjel_20
Re: UEFA Cup Winner - 2007/8 Bit of a hard one to call with the inevitable champions league drop outs but from that list its hard to look past Bayern if they want to win it, top signings over the summer and won't appreciate being out of the spotlight for long, could be a big season for them with Podolski in his second season and the excellent Ribery and Toni they should have decent organisation as most german teams do and at last a bit of flair going forward. nastro 1888
Re: UEFA Cup Winner - 2007/8 Spartak Moscow must be in with a shout - even with 10 men against us on wed night they passed the ball at pace with ease - they have 2 cracking wingers who they give the ball to at every opportunity and brazilian wellinton upfront along with puleychenko ( spellling :loon ) are 2 lightening-quick front men. champions league drop-outs in december must be considered and as posted above, from a betting perspective, it could be pretty foolish to go with a team now - when the likes of lyon, lazio Benfica etc.. could be in the mix come christmas. Rob the I ty
Re: UEFA Cup Winner - 2007/8 Fiorentina have excellent value @21. Strong strike force of Mutu, Pazzini and Lupoli, even Vieri could make an impact. They have quality throughout the side and if they are out of CL contention late in the year the UEFA CUp may be their main focus.
Rockman
Re: UEFA Cup Winner - 2007/8 I have already taken bayern. The only thing that can stop bayern is themselves only. This team can even win the cl,i don't think there is no reason why not back bayern @5.50 which is good value.
rossoneri83
Re: UEFA Cup Winner - 2007/8 I agree with Rockman. The Bayern plays very well now. If they would play all season like now, they win cup.

impressivegol
Re: UEFA Cup Winner - 2007/8 anyone at all fancy Villareal??? Arugably hottest team in Europe over the past few months behind Bayern. Unless Real or some English Giant drop in the latter stages to take the pitch vs them they should be favored in almost every match
2hcb
Re: UEFA Cup Winner - 2007/8 impressivegol - Villareal certainly wouldn't be a bad bet. Are they likely to make UEFA a priority? They still have a few of the players that got them inches away from a CL final 2 years ago, so would seem value. However I'm not sure how wise it is to bet on anyone before we know who drops out post CL groups.

goodolegill
Re: UEFA Cup Winner - 2007/8 I know this is a shot in the dark but ive backed AEK Athens at 80/1 + 70/1 with a view to trade, they will definitely get out of their group will fiorentina + Villareal, i believe that AEK have a very decent side and are a good shout to get to the semi's with Rivaldo & co. chiqo
Re: UEFA Cup Winner - 2007/8 I don´t see a team that is better than Bayern in UEFA Cup. Ribery,Toni,Klose,Lahm,Kahn, van Bommel,.... they have also a chance to win the Champs League if they would be involved imo. Bayern to win the Cup :ok

jamieludlow
Re: UEFA Cup Winner - 2007/8 I reckon Everton have a chance and have great odds at 29/1 They have some good players like Yakubu, Johnson, Lescott, Yobo and they play well together. Got to be worth a small punt. Maybe a fiver or something.

Djslutmonkey
Re: UEFA Cup Winner - 2007/8 Bayern are prohibitively short imo at 4/1, despite being worthy favourites. But Leverkusen; they are available at 33/1, yet are merely 6 points behind behind Bayern in the Bundesliga. Is there a good reason for the huge discrepancy in odds, or is it simply because of Bayern being the big draw for punters, and therefore bookies are covering their asses? Anglophile
Re: UEFA Cup Winner - 2007/8 I struggle to see the value in Bayern Munich that a lot of my fellow punters see, they are a cracking side but they are by no means invincible(they have won 10/17 matches in the Bundesliga this year) Werder Bremen on the other hand is seriously undervalued by the odds compilers. Although recent results don't speak well they can be amazing on their day, they got plenty of players that have stepped up to the challenge after losing the influential Klose. 1 point ew on Werder Bremen @ 16/1 Stan James Although Helsingborg didn't impress in the Swedish league they did manage to make an impression in the UEFA cup winning 3-2 at Galatasaray and beating Herenveen 5-1 at home. Top scorer Omotoyossi looks likely to leave the club but they are in negotiations to buy the best striker in Sweden at the moment Johan Oremo. It also looks like Henrik Larsson might play one last season for them(i think he will do it as the promise of UEFA cup football is enticing to him) 0.25 point on Helsingborg @ 339/1 Betfair Marseille is also seriously under estimated by the market as they got a cracking team, they've had alot of bad results this year but they can play good football and i think they'll be able to beat Spartak. If they manage to get their act together they might even be able to go as far as winning the competition. 1 point on Marseille @ 54/1 Betfair I've also got 0.25 point on Galatasaray on Betfair at 129/1, the odds are simply too big for Gala in Europe. All bets on betfair will be traded at some stage, if and when i do i will advise here. Also if id had to choose between the English teams id back Everton at 12/1, can't see any value in Spurs at 9/1. Falbrav
Re: UEFA Cup Winner - 2007/8 Tottenham will do for me, as they're now getting their defense sorted out, and have done well so far considering! Getting stronger all the time and with class players in each department, I can see them getting to the semi finals at least, then maybe we can lay off a bit, as if all goes well they should be very short in price. The 11/1 currently looks value to me.

DJ
Re: UEFA Cup Winner - 2007/8 PSV next for Spurs which will definitely not be easy! Especially seeing as likely King and Hutton will be missing from the back 4. I think it is safest to rule King out of most team selections, that way happier when he does play and gives any backing Spurs bets that much more chance! I think Spurs can win the Uefa Cup and the team have showed the character and spirit is there, however, I feel the price is about right. There are a lot of strong teams left and any team who wins the whole competition will have a task on their hands just to get to the final.
