TazaD
Re: AFL Football - Round 16 (July 20th - 22nd) Sorry Ash... ...was 1.90 @ both Global and Betstar. Anyone think the umpires have well and truly thrown a "Welcome back Benny" party??!!
Ashtee
Re: AFL Football - Round 16 (July 20th - 22nd) They were taking 1.80 the over at Betfair. Frenzied punters chasing the hunch. Thanks for the lead in, mate.
Beejayville
Re: AFL Football - Round 16 (July 20th - 22nd) Think the same thing happened to Collingwood last week against Geelong Taza...The perceived pressure led to making many bad decisions, somewhat like the Dogs did. Gilbee was a big loss for them too as you said. Maybe the Dogs will learn from the loss to Geelong as Collingwood will have to, incase they play them again later in the season. I am not sure if Geelong can improve much more. All their prime movers and shakers are playing at almost 100%, they can only go backwards in my opinion, or stay the same. Most of the teams in the eight besides Geelong have injury concerns, so they are all likely to improve with players coming back. Dogs are really missing Cross, and to a lesser extent Griffin. Take the Geelong game out and the Dogs form is highly commendable with the players they have out. As for the Pies...Travis Cloke stepped up again yesterday as a focal point in the hardest position on the ground Centre Half Forward, and he was dominant. Considering he is only 20yo, he is going to be a gun player in the coming years...Not sure how many inside 50's the Pies had, but they said on tv that they had 22 marks inside 50, much better than last week. As for Cousins...Didn't see the game but 38 possessions is a fair return for his first game of the season...Eagles had some prome movers back in their team also and you can see what a difference it makes, especially when Sydney lost Hall and Kennelly. Guest
Re: AFL Football - Round 16 (July 20th - 22nd) CARLTON. What can you say? Ashtee
Re: AFL Football - Round 16 (July 20th - 22nd) The best thing about it COR is we may see an inflated price for the Brisbane game next week.

BURNTUA CRISP
Re: AFL Football - Round 16 (July 20th - 22nd) - Denis Pagan is in his final 48 hours as coach. Pagan sacked! Caretaker coach to be announced at 2pm. Contenders include Craig Bradley and Brett Ratten. I hope that useless Stephen Kernahan joins Pagan and leaves as well. He has presided over the worst period in the club's history yet never seems to come under the scrutiny that his subordinates do. He oversees the football department and to say the club has gone backwards in the last 3 years is stating the obvious and a direct reflection on him. TazaD
Re: AFL Football - Round 16 (July 20th - 22nd) And the funniest stat of the week goes to....:drums.... (I swear this is true!!)...CARLTON!!!...For their BEST defensive effort of the year!!! :rollin I kid you all not...a shot only every 1.84 entries. :ok (Previous best was 1.83 @ West Coast!) Ashtee
Re: AFL Football - Round 16 (July 20th - 22nd) Tell me about it Taza! :@ I had Port and Geelong lined up for high score and WBD at 21.00 for low score. I didn't laugh one bit. At this point I won't be interested but prior to the sacking (and I was expecting it) I had the game priced 10/1. I now make it 7/

I knew the Blues would lose, we never beat Brisbane and especially not up at the GABBA but i though id head to it anyway cause id never seen the ground and thought maybe the Blues may even get close. The first half was bad, we trailed by 29 points at half time and were starting to come good late in the half, but that second half was perhaps the worst half of football ive seen by any team in any league and ive seen hundreds of footy matches over my time. The club should be ashamed, i wouldnt of cared if they lost by about 50 or something if at least they had showed a bit of heart, but there is no emotion or anything there. Only just found out Pagan got sacked too (its all Rugby up there), a couple of years too late if ya ask me. Any idea who will take over? Ive heard Braddles and Ratten mentioned.. About time, should have happened about 6 weeks ago when I brought it up :eek I've not seen any of the last few games (thank god :lol) but maybe a change in coach will bring about a change in direction for Carlton. :hope:unsure Going to get the channel over here that shows the AFL so I can get back into the swing of it :nana
