morlspin
Re: WSOP Main Event Featured Table - Hoa Nguyen Eliminated in 34th Place ($285,678) Featured Table Hand #1 - Hoa Nguyen has the button in seat 9, he raises to 160,000, and Lee Childs calls from the big blind. The flop comes , Childs checks, Nguyen bets 225,000, Childs raises to 500,000, and Nguyen goes in the tank. (While Nguyen is quietly thinking, everyone in the Featured Table Arena can hear somebody cheering for themselves during an all-in situation at one of the outer tables.) After about two minutes, Nguyen calls. The turn card is the , Childs bets 450,000, and Nguyen thinks for about a minute before he calls. There is already 2.34 million in the pot. The river card is the , Childs checks, Nguyen moves all in for 1,085,000, and now it's Childs' turn to stop and think. This has been a very slow hand, but understandably so. Childs excitedly shows for two pair, nines and deuces, and he wins the pot. Hoa Nguyen is eliminated in 34th place, earning $285,678. morlspin
Re: WSOP Main Event Scotty Nguyen Color Blind? Scotty Nguyen had a problem with putting the wrong color chip out for his blig blind. There are three denominations of chips and they're all a varation of orange. The 5,000 chips are orange or tangerine as one staff member called it. The 25,000 chips are peach-colored. The 50,000 are salmon-colored. Depending on the lighting in the Amazon Ballroom and underneath the lights of the ESPN feature table, both players and dealers are having a difficult time figuring out what chips are in play. As one player said, he had to physically look at the numbers on the chips to determine what he's betting. Since all the chips are very similar to each other, action has slowed down while players make extra precautions before betting. Dealers are also having a tougher time counting down stacks and bets.
