AFL Football Round 12 (Split Round: June 15 - June 17)

Recommended Posts

Round 12 Cartlon 2.25 Hawthorn 1.65 Kangaroos 1.90 Adelaide 1.90 Bulldogs 1.90 Freemantle 1.90 Geelong 1.09 Brisbane 7.50 Port Adelaide 1.90 Essendon 1.90 Wow. Really even odds here. Obviously another hard round... but I'm going to venture early and say that Freemantle are great odds considering the injuries the bulldogs have suffered. Jeff Farmer doesn't return till next round though does he... because I honestly believe when he returns Freemantle will do the same thing last year and have a huge late charge. And Beejay...gotta love the odds on Hawks :loon Edit: I dont have sticky thread powers :p ... but I'm bored and needed a thread to discuss this round.

Re: AFL Football Round 12 (Split Round: June 15 - June 17) Kangaroos @ $1-90 and Essendon @ $2-00 are value of the highest order. Kangas playing an Adelaide side who are not firing on all cylinders. Kangas won 6 of last 8 and great record against the good sides this season Bombers have won 4 in a row and playing a team bereft of any heart in Port Power. Essendon have a great goal to goal line on Lloyd, Lucas, Hird, Flethcer and Michael, enough to repel Port. If that is not enough, the double Kangas/Bombers will be paying around $3-80. The Bookies are are actuall allowing you to steal $2-80 for every $1 invested on the kangas and Bombers to win. Is it Christmas already? Jeffers, you like a bet son, get on this beauty, unbelievable value. Only danger to this bet winning is perhaps Adelaide firing up and beating the Roos, but you couldn't have that on form. Crows are $2-40 for 1-39 points win, so save your stake on that if any doubt, or save on the Crows/Essendon H2H double at $3-60, or Crows 1-39/Bombers win at $4-80. Either way there is money to be made.

Collingwood: Australian phenomenon who will be back with Swans

Australian phenomenon? You know, the most ironic thing about that statement is that you wrote it in your form ladder post and if you look at the most recent game, the Pies lost to the 15th ranked team in Melbourne (only their second win of the year mind you) :lol :lol :lol

Re: AFL Football Round 12 (Split Round: June 15 - June 17) My thoughts for the round: Hawthorn to defeat Carlton -12.5: $2.10 @ centrebet Kangaroos to defeat Adelaide -5.5: $2.10 @ centrebet Bulldogs to defeat Fremantle -5.5: $2.10 @ centrebet I think these three teams are being ridiculously underrated and should all win comfortably. Hawthorn is twice the team Carlton is, and whilst Carlton are racking up some amazing scores, it is against bullshit opposition. The Hawks have just knocked off West Coast, Port Adelaide and only just went down to a strangling Sydney. Kangaroos... The bookies are a joke. They won 6 in a row, only just lost over in Subiaco to West Coast and then thumped the shit through St Kilda. I'll keep backing the life out of them whilst they keep performing like this. I don't know why bookies are not rating them a chance, but hell this here is charity. Bulldogs v Freo. Bulldogs will destroy them. Training in heat chambers, and that run. Freo are in for a nasty run over the next few weeks, and a friend of mine was making some very logical arguments as to why Chris Connoly will be the first coach sacked ($10 @ sportingbet) this season. Bulldogs win.

Re: AFL Football Round 12 (Split Round: June 15 - June 17) Western Bulldogs - something to watch when doing our assements. A tough road month for them. This will be third travel in four weeks. They do get seven days to Freo's six, although Freo are a 9 x 6 for the fortnight. I also understand that this time of year does produce some dewy conditions. The only form so far this season that could be looked at is Haw v WBD Rd-5 when it rained LQ with Haw kicking 3.2 in loss while dogs kicked 0.7. Dogs are known to need good track but Freo have typically needed good condition also. Looking at the stats (thanks bjv) both use the ball about the same. My view is Freo are the marginal value given the condition could find WBD a little flat but not enough for me to bet on this one, ATM Adelaide - Johncock and Goodwin are in doubt (not saying they won't play). My feeling is books have this correct with 1.96 each of two. Personally not prepared to trust Kangas this week against a crafty opponent. Stanton in doubt and some talk about Fletcher but I think he's OK? P. Burg playing injured IMO? Tredrea a liabilty. Tredrea's 200th but surely Essendon should be tried as underdogs.

Still...I think his last bit of 'inside info' had Franklin not training all last week!! Cross a MASSIVE injury for Dogs...Griffen not so much but will certainly be missed. Hopefully West/Boyd can step up and McMahon can give Griffen's run. Some relatively tough games this week. Already on Hawthorn @ 1.68. Kanga's/Crows...either team under 24.5, effectively paying 1.83! (I think that's huge) and have 3 specific totals in mind for the other 3 games, so hopefully I'll be able to pick up one or two of those. (2 unders and an over) Stanton no hope surely!...Goodwin either.

Daniel Cross is 2nd highest ball winner for the Doggies and he will be missed in their midfield. Heath Scotland having another great year for Carlton. Nathan Foley has been super for Richmond this year in a losing team. Jordan Lewis also having a great year for the Hawks after getting more opportunity Chris Knights from Adelaide is a bit of a surprise but going very well Nigel Lappin after a slow start is again raking in the possessions, quality player. Chad Fletcher after only 4 games is averaging 20+ possys a game New comer Matt Priddis from West Coast is having a great year also, especially in a top team Leigh Montagna is also a surprise player in the top 25 posession getters in the AFL

Re: AFL Football Round 12 (Split Round: June 15 - June 17)

I'd expect to see Carrazzo on that list soon' date=' he's having shedloads of the footy lately...where do you get the stats from BJ? Is it a website or your own spreadsheet? :unsure[/quote'] Stats are from this website i think Jeffers. Carrazzo currently #31 on that list which supprises me, he has been tearing it up in the midfield for weeks getting about 30 touches a game. I think his effiecency of disposal has been good also, he has been the focal point of our revival

Last I knew, he had some minor role at the club. Not sure if that's still the case? Can't see him listed on staff but that wouldn't mean he isn't the official disinformation officer.

Re: AFL Football Round 12 (Split Round: June 15 - June 17) Tonight’s game should be huge between Carlton and Hawthorn. The free scoring Blues will have to overcome a Hawthorn defence that has only conceded 100 points once all season. In contrast the lowest score Carlton have conceded all season is 98 points.

The Hawks odds have lengthened on speculation that Lance Franklin is in doubt for the game. He seemed to train at full tilt yesterday, so we might have to wait until the team sheets come in before tipping the Hawks with confidence. Croad and Boyle will both play with Mitch Thorp on standby for Franklin.

The Blues are still prone to lapses even though they are a high scoring team. The Hawks have managed to eradicate the lapses from their game and perform consistently across the board. The Hawks are very adaptable and they can constrict the game if they need to, but they need to win this game to keep themselves in the top four. The Blues will have their surges at times but the Hawks should be too steady and win narrowly.

The two games on Saturday night are a complete mystery and not even worth discussing.

Score Predictor & My Tips(in Bold) Carlton 101 Hawthorn 96 Kangaroos 93 Adelaide 89 Western Bulldogs 92 Fremantle 90

Suggested Bets

CARLTON Quarter Time Leader HAWTHORN Margin 1-39

Good luck.
