BillyHills
Re: Golf: DUBAI DESERT CLASSIC Some great value around with Tiger being here, but very competative. The side markets also offer some value and i'll be choosing a couple from each of the GB/Irish and European ones. Top GB/Irish My two against the field are David Howell at 11/1 and Graeme Storm at 40/1. Howell makes his debut this year, only playing premium tournaments this season due to his back injury, a good decision because he always doe well in the big ones, probrably been using the smaller events to tweak his game so we know he'll be spot on here. A class act on his day should be therabouts in this market. Graeme Storm has started the season very well, has promised so much in the past without really delivering, maybe this year he will break through, big price considering some of the others who are bang out of form. Top European After Marcel Siem pulled out last week, its interesting to see him here so i must follow him at 40/1, convinced this guy will finally be more consistant and follow in Langer's footsteps, Johan Edfors was a revelation last season and continues to improve, a sluggish start this season but showed signs of a return last week and 20/1 is big enough to tempt me in this week ahead of Karlsson who came close to being backed. D.Howell 11/1 Top GB/Ire (1/4 1234) Betfred G.Storm 40/1 Top GB/Ire (1/4 1234) PaddyPower M.Siem 40/1 Top European (1/5 1234) Paddy Power J.Edfors 20/1 Top European (1/5 1234) PaddyPower

He won as he liked last week despite being 2 behind going into final round. He just seems to be a machine at tournaments he has won at before and he won this last year. Ernie Els came close last year but Tiger Woods should have another easy victory, how is he not odds on here!!!!! SportGolf EventDubai Desert Classic SelectionHenrik Stenson To Be In Top 10 Strength10/10 Date04/02/2007 Bookmaker/PriceStan James @ 2.50 (Back) ReasoningHas had top 10 finishes in the last two weeks. A tied 7th last week in Qatar, he made a 7 on a par 5 on sunday so maybe he should have been placed higher. He likes playing in the Far East and if he continues to play like that he is very capable of getting into contention again.
bowles10
Re: Golf: DUBAI DESERT CLASSIC Nick Dougherty showed he has recaptured the same form he showed this time last year, Has finished T6 & T9 last 2 years in this event. Recent form T16, T11 & T2 in last 3 events shows Nick can be up there amongst the top 10 again here. has to be on top of his game now the big boys are lining up however i think he can topple Howell & Casey for top englishman. 1st rd leader - Dougherty 50/1 most firms 1pt Top Englishman - Dougherty 8/1 VcBet 2pts Top 10 finish - Dougherty 9/2 Stan James 5pts Win market - Dougherty 66/1 Betfred 1/4 1st 5 1pt ew
BillyHills
Re: Golf: DUBAI DESERT CLASSIC Eggs in basket spring to mind Bowles! Good luck with it mate. Just an observation on young Dougherty i have. I watched him closely last season as i expected him to shoot to prominence and backed him to do so, i for one couldnt understand why the guy couldnt produce the goods, even Faldo, his mentor rates him very highly. I watched him at close hand at the Belfrey and he just doesnt have that killer instinct that all great players have and need to succeed. He laughs and jokes all the time during his round and just lacks concentration for my money. Once he starts taking the game seriously he will become what he wants, a good start this season and hopefully someone (Mr faldo) has took him to one side and advised him its time to grow up and win some tournaments. I'll watch with interest, he's as good as Luke Donald technically but has nowhwere near the results. Best of luck
Beejayville
Re: Golf: DUBAI DESERT CLASSIC Ross Fisher shot a second straight 65 to stretch his lead to two shots over Ernie Els and five over Tiger Woods as the second round was suspended because of poor weather earlier in the day. Both Fisher and Woods finished there rounds but Els still have four holes left to play. So the big question will be if the 26-year-old will be able to maintain this pace and win.
