meatman
Re: Monaco Grand Prix 28th May Great drivers have won this race over the years. Senna was magical around the streets and it takes a very good guy with plenty of experience to take the checkered flag. I'd love to see Schumacher and ferrari win around this very sepcial track this weekend. I don't think hes won here since 2002? but it's vital he beats Alonso. This is always such a great event and will be great viewing for sure. What a feeling it will be, seeing the cars make their way around St Devotte for the first of 78 gruelling laps............................... good luck to all punters :hope
BillyHills
Re: Monaco Grand Prix 28th May Sounds like Fun and Games in Qualifying with MS coming out on top, best price around Evens but the firms are slow at updating!! Been looking at the retirements record for Monaco; The last 10 years the figures for cars not finishings is as follows with last year first; 4,10,6,10,12,11,13,9,12 and 14. The only market at the moment is 14.5 cars to finish, 1 car lower than normal which isnt surprising i suppose after looking at the stats. 1.44 for the Safety Car looks nailed on at Skybet also. will fish around for better prices before placing my bet. Good luck!

Mr Intensity
Re: Monaco Grand Prix 28th May Bluesq have had the balls to put some markets up, so here's my first shot...... SportMotor SportEventMonaco Grand Prix SelectionMCLAREN v Renault (most points) Strength10/10 Date28/05/2006 Bookmaker/PriceBlue Square @ 2.87 (Back) ReasoningThis looks a pretty big price here. Renault start 1st with Alonso and Fisichella 9th against the McLarens of Kimi and Montoya in 3rd and 4th. McLaren have shown much better pace here mainly because the problems with the car are balance at high speeds and the engine, both of which are less noticeable here. Also Kimi is the best driver (IMO) in slow speed corners and Montoya has a way of getting round here very quickly. They never go overly aggressive with the fuel strategy so I expect them to have a decent amount, more than Webber and possibly a bit more than Alonso. Fisi, after being punished, is probably on a siilar fuel load, so it's not as if he's back there strategically waiting for the other guys to come in and pass them. Fisi is going to have real problems, the guys ahead of him are Rosberg, DC and Trulli and they all look like having pretty quick cars. Also guys behind him like Ralf who will probably have more fuel I can see making this a long afternoon for Fisi. Even if we assume Alonso wins, say 2nd and 4th for McLaren would bring 13 points, so Fisi would have to finish 6th to get this to a tie. Obviously a lot more complicated scenarios could and probably will occur, especially as I don't think Alonso winning is a forgone conclusion, but if both McLarens can finish I think they have a great chance in this. Mr Intensity
Re: Monaco Grand Prix 28th May SportMotorsport EventMonaco Grand Prix SelectionTRULLI to finish in the points Strength10/10 Date28/05/2006 Bookmaker/Price>Paddy Power @ 1.90 (Back) ReasoningI think Trulli is a very decent shot to finish in the points here. He's much happier in the revised version of the Toyota; in the last one he really wasn't happy with the front end which was introduced towards the end of last season. He also is very very strong at Monaco and I think this is one race where his pace won't drop off like it usually does! With Schumi and Fisi being dropped back he starts in 6th place and is in a great position to get some decent points. Barrichello is ahead of his, and I think Trulli will have at least the same pace as him and probably a bit more fuel. Behind him there is some action with DC, Rosberg, Fisichella and Ralf, but I can see him holding his own against these guys and he should be on for some solid points. SportMotorsport EventMonaco Grand Prix SelectionWEBBER to finish on the podium Strength10/10 Date28/05/2006 Bookmaker/PriceSportingodds @ 3.25 (Back) ReasoningI expect the McLarens to give Webber a really tough run in this one, and probably beat him, but I have to take this price on the guy starting 2nd at Monaco! Last year a very average Williams managed to finish 2nd and 3rd here and they clearly have got the car hooked up again. Webber is very strong around here, and I think he's on for consecutive podiums at Monaco. People will be saying that he's really light, but I'm not certain that's the case, I think he could be very similar to Alonso for fuel and maybe 2 laps less than the McLarens. I think these 4 will be the pace and should create a decent lead in the first stint. We know 4 into 3 doesn't go, but I'll take my chances at this price. Mr Intensity
Re: Monaco Grand Prix 28th May SportMotorsport EventMonaco Grand Prix SelectionMASSA v Button Strength10/10 Date28/05/2006 Bookmaker/PricePinnacle Sports @ 2.64 (Back) ReasoningBit of a long shot here, but in H2H, I think it's worth a go. Massa dumped his car into the wall in qualifying and starts 21st compared to Buttons 13th which was simply down to a lack of speed. He's been suffering from a lot of understeer and I don't think they'll be able to sort it before the race. Starting 13th I think he'll have problems moving forward. Directly in front of him are Liuzzi and Klien: Liuzzi has tended to run pretty long and will no doubt do so again, and with that V10 he'll be very tough to pass, although he'll probably be pretty slow (which is good!). DC has shown that the Red Bull has some decent speed so Klien will also be tough to pass. Ahead of that is Ralf and Fisi et al and these guys are quicker than Button, so really I can't see him moving up on pace, at least for the first stint. This should give the Ferraris coming from the back something to work with, as Massa will clearly be heavy but should still be able to get past the Super Aguris and the Midlands. Massa has done very well this year and needs to redeem himself after the mistake in qualifying and I expect a solid race. If theres only a couple of cars between them when they stop, this is game on and I fancy my chances with Massa in the much faster car. Edit: This has just been cut from 2.9 to 2.64 while I was typing it out. I'll still take it, but the prce is not so great. Think that will be it. Isn't much around that appeals to me today:unsure :unsure

BillyHills
Re: Monaco Grand Prix 28th May Decided to back under 14.5 finishers with Skybet at 1.72, the stats back this up with only 6 retirements needed, evens at PP but another retirement needed there so i'll go with the reduced odds. Also i reckon a safety car is a near certainty with hardly any run-off places so i'll back that with skybet at 1.44, sounds skinny but still a fair price. Also decided to back Raikkonen E/W for the race rather than a Podium, at 4/1 with Laddies its still almost a bet to nothing and good value for what i see as the only danger to Alonso. Always like going for a bit of a value bet from lower down the grid so i'm going for Button to make the points at 2.25 with VC bet, for me he his still a good driver around here and if there are casulaties he could sneak into the points. Good luck guys, have a feeling the fun and games havnt ended yet, be interesting to see how the Ferrari's approach this now! I reckon Massa will be like a bull in a china shop, i'd like to lay him for a points finish but the price is too high for SPunter.
