Re: GOLF:Players Championship As said before some amazing prices in the outright market but equally good prices in some other markets without all the Americans and Aussies who seem to get in the way! Top European Padraig Harrington 13/2 E/W Corals Harrington loves this place and is rarely too far off the pace. Encouraging current form also so a solid bet this price. EW backers can have 1/4 odds first 4 at Corals so great value. Justin Rose 25/1 E/W Paddy Power Been just outside the big money a few times this season, seems more relaxed about his game which is cutting out that nightmare round he always used to put in. Decent form at the couse also. Jose-Maria Olazabal 28/1 E/W Paddy Power Plugged on again last week for another respectable finish, usually ups his game for the big tournaments and 28/1 is far too big to let go by without a small bet E/W. Top Rest Of The World Stephen Ames 14/1 E/W Paddy Power To be honest i wasnt attracted to this price at first glance, especially with Els,Singh and Goosen in opposition. After a closer inspection its pretty good value. He always plays this course very well with many decent finishes to his name, this season has started slowly but the last couple of weeks has improved steadily as though he's building up to this one. Also the top 3 mentioned have all struggled with their game so far this year even Vijay who has still to win in 2006. Carlos Franco 40/1 E/W Paddy Power I'm convinced this guy is ready to strike at any time, only worth following in his 'purple patch' which looks pretty near to me. Finished well last week and has decent course form without being spectacular, the price is just too big and worth a small bet. Of the Americans Scott Verplank is worth a second look but at only 16/1 for Top USA player i'll give it a miss this time. Best of luck chaps!

Re: GOLF:Players Championship My plays here this week: Ernie Els is not in the form of his life but he's a big game player and well worth a dabble at a huge price each way. 26.0 totesport 1/4 odds 12345 1pt each way on both players who've been in good form earlier on in the season. Mike Weir & Chris DiMarco 67.0 skybet 1/4 odds 12345

Re: GOLF:Players Championship My favourite tour event of the year. Always good viewing around Sawgrass! I'm taking 4 outrights and a couple of Jerry Kelly bets. All the outrights are with Stan James as they are paying 1st 6 each way. 5pts ew L.Donald 18/1 Should really be coming into this as defending champion but unfortunately he threw it away towards the end last year. He has a game perfect for Sawgrass though - straight, hits lots of GIR's and his win 2 weeks ago will have him full of confidence. He must be a major player here. 3pts ew A.Scott 25/1 Champion of 2 years ago and has a decent record around here apart from that, still hasn't set the world alight in the majors but I expect a good run from him here. 3pts ew D.Love III 33/1 2 time champion here and quite often goes well. Was stunning in the final round of 03 when he blitzed the field with a 64. He's in good form this year thanks to a 2nd in the Accenture and he should go close again. 1pt ew F.Couples 100/1 Freddy is also a 2 time winner of this and like Luke Donald can benifit from the course set up and the fact it doesn't necessarily need a long hitter to succeed round here. If he gets a good start he could go well at a big price. 5pts J.Kelly top 10 finish 8/1 Stan James Has good form around here having been in the top 10 3 times in the last 6 years. Another straight hitter and previous form should give him a boost to challenge this week. 10pts J.Kelly to beat S.Cink Evens William Hill Kelly has good form around here whereas Cink has never really been in contention around here. Only 1 of the last 6 years would Cink have won this bet and I have to be with Jerry Kelly here. Good luck to all.

Re: GOLF:Players Championship my bet, bit of a outsider but been in good form recently, i was listening to P. Mickelson's comments this morning on sky sports news about being able to make up for the smaller greens by driving the ball further. These comments put forward im tipping swede Daniel Chopra at 175/1

Re: GOLF:Players Championship Don't have the same interes tin golf as i used to, but can't let the Players Champs go by without chucking some money at it. Bad news for Kevshat I am afraid, the money was down before I read the thread! I went for Davis Love III (40/1) and Jerry Kelly (125/1). Love has won around here before, and although the matchlay is completely different to strokeplay, his runner-up spot in the Accenture at least shows he is still interested, and still capable. Kelly is a more speculative punt, and my reasoning is very similar to Kev's, course form is solid, current form is reasonable.

Re: GOLF:Players Championship Colin Montgomerie to beat Tag Ridings and James Driscoll at 11/8 with Blue Square looks good to me. Coral have Montie at 10/11 while everyone else has him at around 11/8 which is strange! I know hes only just come back but we all now on his day he is one of the best ! and was runners up 10 years ago so might be suited to this competition. Also I heard he got a hole in 1 in his practise round. Ridings and Driscoll have not been playing well and have missed a few cuts recently.

Mate, I warn you well in advance Love III may be leading now but the way my luck is going this week he's bound to throw it away on the 72nd hole!

Must be happy with his showing after the 1st round bowles, a nice -3 69 puts him bang in contention.:clap

Must be happy with his showing after the 1st round bowles' date=' a nice -3 69 puts him bang in contention.:clap[/quote'] yep, excellent after being +1 at the turn cam eback in -4 to finish in a great position. He went in to the week without a game for the last 2 months after suffering a painful neck injury. He was quoted as having no practise as yet, however the price just seemed too big.

Re: GOLF:Players Championship Yep, Jerry Kelly went round in 82 and Davis Love ain't gonna be too far behind him by the looks of it! +6 thru 14 :@ :@ Still he was miles back in 03 and went round in 64 to win so all is not lost if he can finish these last 4 holes without too much more damage. Thankfully for me Adam Scott has put himself in the mix. :hope

Re: GOLF:Players Championship I didn't see any of the golf yesterday, so came home to find how Adam Scott was doing as he was just a shot of the lead after 2 rounds. I scrolled down and down and down before I found him at t50, just the 12 shots off the lead after an 82.... The course was obviousely playing much harder but there were still a few 68's and 69's. I think Tiger & Els are a little to far away to challenge for the win, but any one of about 22 players will have a fair chance of a win. Vj Singh looks the most likely winner just 1 shot of the lead.
