Re: Anyone seen this from partypoker?? I've been playing quite a bit at Party Poker recently and noticed this in their t's and c's just a couple of days ago. I had $15 deposited in my Party Poker account as a 'bonus' and didn't realise I had to play 150 raked hands to keep it. I think once I've either got my balance to the minimum wihdrawal limit or blown the lot then I'm going to close my account. This is the only poker site I've come across that charges fees for inactivity. If they want to keep my custom and encourage me to play there then they're going to have to remove this clause.

Re: Anyone seen this from partypoker??

Yeah, I read that Dr Pauly over at the Tao of Poker had the same e-mail. I have no idea of the technicalities but wow, thaat's just outrageous. I assume they must be clearing out who's still playing and who's abandoned them. :eek
It's another way of keeping the dough rolling in too!! :@

Re: Anyone seen this from partypoker?? Yeah.. every other site, usely mails to tell you that you havent used their software for several month.. But if you use the code below you will get an extra 50$ or 25$ when you deposit some cash.. Thats the way to keep people around... But i wont play this, just to keep them quiet another 180days.. Couse will not play with party for the next month or 2 thats for sure. But might do it later on.. Then i just have to make new account... Why not just give me 30days to deposit money, or they close my account.. That would be fair enough.. (i dont have any $$ at party, so they cant take 5$ from me)

Re: Anyone seen this from partypoker??

It's outragous!!!!! I'm sincerely tempted to leave them on a point of principal!!!!
Unfortunately it's all there in the small print and you have to acknowledge that you've read their t's and c's when you sign up. Reading such documentation is something very few of us do and this is how we get caught. I read somewhere recently (a PL article? I can't remember...) that one firm put a clause in their terms offering £50 to the first person to call them and confirm they'd actually read the small print!

Re: Anyone seen this from partypoker?? Bloody hell .................. its busy round here these days................... i'm away from computers for a week and suddenly there are over 2 pages of threads with new posts :eek :eek :eek ....................... looks like i'm going to be busy :loon A while back Party poker took away all my frequent player points as i hadn't played there for a certain period of time ( I forget how long) so I'm not surprised they have resorted to this as well. Its sheer arrogance on their part as they seem to think we owe them something for being allowed to play on their site. There are lots of sites who offer excellent incentives for playing with them so i see no reason to have put up with this .......... I already pay rake on every had when i play..................i'm buggered if i'm going to pay when i'm not playing. :cheers cheers for pointing it out cains, As i've still got some cash in my party poker account........ i think i'll empty it before the bastards nick it :lol

Re: Anyone seen this from partypoker?? Nothing surprises me any more with internet poker or internet casino. I had an email some time ago from InterCasino saying that if I didn't start using the money in my account, they would start taking from it at $2 per day. Guess what... I've never deposited money in there and therefore never knew I had it. Apparently, it was a bonus from when I deposited with InterPoker. I knew I couldn't use it in the poker room, but they didn't tell me I could use it in the casino. Well, anyway, decided to go try my hand. After all, it was free. There was about $46 in the account. But I couldn't withdraw it until I'd wagered a minimum of $500. Well, after 2 days on the 3 card poker table, I had amassed over $500, thanks in main to a straight flush. Then, as always happens I hit a bad streak. Because I still hadn't wagered $500 I still couldn't withdraw. Finally reached the $500 wagered, but my account only showed about $270 thanks to some bad cards. I decided that was better than nothing and tried to withdraw. Things then took a real dive. I tried to withdraw back to my debit card, but was told I could only withdraw the amount I had originally deposited (with InterPoker). That came to a measly $69 or so. The rest would have to be withdrawn in some other way!!! I had no other way!!!! I'm guessing all other ways I would have to pay for! Well, sod them! I got back £30+ quid, that'll do. I played with the remainder but could not win a thing. Here's another story, this one happened t'othr day on Gala Poker. Fellow Punter's Lounger Rednut (sooooooooooooo) told me about a freeroll, but you had to have played at least one raked hand. I set up a money account and deposited £20. I played one raked hand and won about $2. Straight back out, but unfortunately the freeroll was cancelled due to insufficient numbers. Worse still, I couldn't see the freeroll on the tourney list. :unsure Anyway, I decided to wathdraw my money back. Started with $33.48 (£20) and finished with $35.53. However, when I withdrew, amount only came to £20.19. Now having got 2 A levels in maths when I was a school, I sensed something was wrong... $2.05 does not equal 19p. I sent an email to Gala Poker for an explanation, but they said that all money transactions are dealt with by WebDollar and not by Gala. I have logged a ticket with WebDollar, but not had a response yet. Final story (hope you not asleep yet... it's well worth knowing all these little idiosyncryses) happened many months ago. Played on the Gus Hansen site (can't remember it's name now) in it's early days and rather enjoyed it. WEll, you do when you win the first freeroll you enter on the site... even though the 1st prize was only $4. When it properly opened I deposited £20. This didn't go well, so I decided to cut my loses and withdraw what I had left. But... I would not withdraw using the same method, i.e. my debit card. They are quite happy to take your money, but so all they can to make it difficult to get it back. All i could use was neteller. I don't have a neteller account nor do I want one. (On that note, can someone explain to me if hey are free or not?) Another £20 down the drain. The moral of all these stories (including the ones above) is... READ THE T&C's. Find out how you can withdraw BEFORE depositing. They seem to have soooooooooo (sorry Lynn, but as you know I type like that too) many different scams to take your money. The sites where I don't have problems depositing OR withdrawing... Betfair, Will Hill, Littlewoods, Bet365. There may be others, but I don't have any money in them so I don't know. Phew, my fingers are sore now. Does this count as 10 posts? Or maybe a novel? Now there's a moneymaking idea... write a book on internet scams. Ransom money also comes into mind.

Re: Anyone seen this from partypoker?? Hey Pro, one way of getting your money out would have been to find someone else you trust (i.e. possibly one of us :rollin ) that has an account on InterPoker and was able to withdraw money, then you lose the money on a NL ring game to them (two of you log onto an empty one) and allowing for rake get them to send you a cheque or alternatively lose the money to you on another site which you can withdraw from such as Betfair. My brother had accumulated a fair few dollars on SO and due to him having foolishly set us his account as a dollar account they seemed only to want to send him a dollar cheque (I've never had any problems with SO and getting money out of them) so he lost it all to me and I sent him a cheque - think it cost $9 in rake - but only because I had too few dollars in my account and we had to do it over 3 hands (max rake is $3 per hand I think). Probably find that I'm registered on some FBI database as a money launderer now :D . So there are ways and means, but yep I've experienced problems getting money out in my preferred method from some sites..... that you can only take as much money out to a credit/debit card as you put in clause on some sites really sucks.

Re: Anyone seen this from partypoker?? Thanks for the info, I'll bear that in mind... if I ever get into the situation again, which I hope not to. I don't deposit anywhere any more unless I know I can withdraw it back to my debit card. And the $270 was on InterCasino - not sure we could fiddle that any which way.
