The exchange is really useful, either for getting prices that are with firms I can't get on with or getting even better prices than are available with the bookies. The big gap is the games where there's no exchange markets. Obviously a game where only one bookie has prices isn't going to be on the exchange but there are a few leagues where the exchange only prices up the big/televised games. I think some people maybe adopt the strategy of laying best price on Oddschecker so you're quite often able to get a good price on there. SX evidently got the players mixed up and I'd already priced up before they corrected it. With a front 3 of Martin, Marton and Martinez I suppose there was always scope for some confusion! Well done so far. Thread follows on from a discussion about whether betting on football was nothing more than luck, I was trying to illustrate that it is possible to beat the odds if you specialise and find a market where you can demonstrate an edge. Hopefully returns will remain decent if they can't maintain that level. The A, B and C thing is bets where I managed to get on at the same odds, shorter odds or couldn't get on at all. The "C" number would probably be slightly lower if we weren't into the close season for the major leagues (less bookies to go at and no exchange market for a lot of the games). After discussions with @MCLARKE over on the speed ratings thread I've added AE which suggests we should have had 10 winners if the odds were correct so we're currently running at an AE of 1.8 (again, presumably not sustainable).
