Benfica vs Rangers

Benfica failed to win the Primeira Liga title last season, and they appointed Jorge Jesus as their head coach. The ex Flamengo boss that brought the continental glory to the Rubo-Negro started rebuilding the squad, and Benfica signed a group of very interesting players. However, the very start of the campaign was unsuccessful as Aguias lost in the first qualifying round of the Champions League group stage against PAOK. That meant Benfica needed to build its continental campaign in Europa League. It seems that the loss against the Greek side was just a bad day in the office as the hosts tied seven victories in all competitions. Five of them launched the hosts to the top of the Primeira Liga, while the other two against Lech Poznan and Standard Liege put them in a comfortable position ahead of this clash. Haris Seferovic and the lads have been very productive in the final third by scoring three goals per match on average. However, Benfica failed to a surprising 3>0 defeat away to Boavista on Monday, and they want to get back on the winning track.

After the financial slump that dragged them to the League Two, Rangers has never been closer to winning the title in the Premiership. Although it is early to make any conclusions, Steven Gerrard’s side is nine points ahead of Celtic, however, their rivals played two games less. After 13 rounds in the domestic league, the Gers are the only undefeated team, failing to win on just two occasions. Alfredo Morelos and the lads scored 29 times, and 13 players managed to find the back of the oppositions’ net. On the other hand, the defense is disciplined and very tough to crack. The visitors kept the clean sheet six times in a row, and they conceded only three times in all competitions. They want to expand this run and get back home undefeated.

Full-Time Winner Odds & Prediction

Both sides are in excellent form, and this is going to be a very exciting clash. Although Benfica is dominant in the front and closer to victory, Rangers shouldn’t lose by more than one goal.

Goals Market Prediction

Steven Gerrard managed to set up a perfect defense, and we should expect another tight game by the Gers. Their tactical approach should keep this clash under a 2.5 margin.

Rangers AH +1 @ 1.55

Under 2.5 FT @ 1.90

Correct score 1:1@ 7.00
