Bamford
Many claim the annual visit to Torrey Pines as the real start of the golf year. This year sees a stellar field at the Farmers Insurance Open, with Justin Rose, Tiger Woods, Rory McIlroy. Jason Day, Jon Rahm, Rickie Fowler, Jordan Spieth and a talented supporting field all very much in-attendance. Day, Snedeker and Rahm have won 5 of the last 7 runnings of this tournament with the likes of Leishman, Rose, Howell, Holmes, Finau and Bradley consistently featuring in the each-way places. All classical golf course positive players wjo in the main, can hit the ball a very long way, when required. At 7,700 yards the South Course is the longest track on the PGA Tour and naturally this U.S. Open hosting course is no pushover. But all players have 18 holes around the easier North Course to capitalise on across either Thursday or Friday. We also see the rarity of Poa Annua greens and Kikuyugrass fairways this week in San Diego. I have gone with Tony Finau (20/1), Gary Woodland (30/1), Ryan Palmer (100/1), Keith Mitchell (125/1) and Martin Laird (175/1).
