BillyHills Posted October 4, 2017 Share Posted October 4, 2017 Japan GP (6am Sunday UK Time) No rest for the wicked, just a week after Malaysia we are back in action at Suzuka for the Japanese Grand Prix. Lewis Hamilton is sitting pretty 34pts clear of Vettel and is 1/9 to win the title back, last week his second spot was a bit frustrating but he still finished in front of his rival so a decent days work overall. This week both drivers are 13/8 at the moment and the news is that Vettel will not have to replace his gearbox so will escape a grid penalty. Verstappen is 9/2 and that will appeal to many after his superb display last week. We struck with the 'No Safety Car' last week for a nice bet and this time round we have a strange stat whereby we have had NO retirements at Suzuka for two years running! It to happen once is rare but twice is a miracle. Hence the advice will be to back 'over 15.5' finishers this week which is a best priced 8/13 with William Hill. Not great value but the figures don't lie, if your a bit braver you can bet 6/4 with Bet365 if you extend the spread by one car and thats worth a punt I think. This leaves the other front row spot for Vettel which at least makes the start of tomorrows race very exciting. Lewis is 4/11 (Corals) to win from start to finish while Vettel can be backed at 3/1 with Hills. Its 20/1 bar those two and that tells you all you need to know. I quite like the price of Bottas to make the podium, he needs to clear both Red Bulls to achieve that but the Merc has been much quicker all weekend so far. He's a generous looking 6/4 with Ladbrokes. Not much value elsewhere so I will have an 11/8 treble on Bottas, Ricciardo and Raikkonen to all make the top 6 with Bet365.
