First bet will be a lay of Slavia Prague to beat Sevilla in the Europa League match that kicks off soon. Sevilla are Europa League specialists and really should be winning this, but a draw would do me just fine. Bet 1. Torque Posted March 8, 2019 Author Share Posted March 8, 2019 (edited) There's a few football matches tonight to look at but I'm not sure I'll play any of them. Juventus at home to Udinese would normally be tempting, but with a healthy lead at the top of Serie A they're likely to be paying more attention to the the Champions League match to come against Atletico Madrid in which they have to overturn a deficit. Norwich play Swansea in the Championship but a quick look shows that Swansea have picked up a few wins away from home and I'm also wary of their pedigree in terms of being a Premier League side last season, so I'll be leaving this alone. Brest play Valenciennes in Ligue 2 in France, but as I know nothing at all about either team that's easily swerved. In the Spanish top flight Athletic Bilbao host Espanyol, but it's easy to dismiss this on account of both teams struggling towards the bottom of the table and also good recent results for Espanyol. There's also a Dutch Eerste Divisie game between FC Den Bosch and Helmond Sport but with both teams in poor form I'll be passing on this as well. There's another Dutch 2nd Division match between Jong PSV and Jong Utrecht, but I make it a rule not to get involved in reserve team matches and this is one. The only thing I do like the look of is Lincoln against Yeovil in League 2. Lincoln have a terrific home record which has seen them lose only once at Sincil Bank this season, whilst Yeovil are generally poor travellers. If Yeovil had travelled to the game today I would have opposed them, but it looks as though they travelled yesterday which should make a big difference to the way they perform. Torque Posted March 9, 2019 Author Share Posted March 9, 2019 For today I'm looking at a couple of games in the German Bundesliga as well as England v Italy in the Six Nations. I'll wait on team news in Germany but one match I'm going to give a miss is Manchester City v Watford. As much as it's likely to be an easy win for the home side, Watford arrive at the Etihad in good form and face a City side that hasn't been scoring freely in recent matches and missing of a number of players. Leipzig are very strong at home whilst Augsburg struggle on the road. They did get a good win last time out against Dortmund but that was at home and against a Leipzig side that don't concede many I'll be surprised if they manage a win here. Bet 3. The home side have made only one change to the team that tore Real to shreds in their own stadium, so a visit from a team that has shipped at least four goals in each of its last five away games should hold no fears. The Serb was rusty against Fratangelo but should be better for the experience and his reward for coming through that match is a meeting with a player he has dominated in previous meetings. Kohlschreiber is a good player there's no doubting that but he's always had trouble getting wins against the very best. He's taken sets from the likes of Nadal, Federer in their most recent match the other week and even Djokovic at this tournament previously but wins have been hard to come by. He could keep it close against Djokovic and he may even take a set but I'll take a chance that history repeats itself and when the match is over it isn't the German that won the final point. Bet 11. What I've decided to do is park the bet and make a new bet 11. If that bet wins I'll top up my Djokovic stake with the winnings, and if it loses I'll scratch out of the Djokovic bet by laying him which will mean I wont lose much more than my starting stake and the accumulated profit.
