Re: FA Trophy > Saturday January 10th Two bits of news. First of I had missed until reading the non league paper today that Gary Lowe has become Hyde manager again. That's a good thing in my view and they have already drawn 4-4 against Barrow with him in charge. The other is that ebbsfleet have signed Danny kedwell and that is huge at conference south level. I suspect though that it is too late for them to win the title but huge statement of intent and clear how much money they have. Sent from my GT-I8190N using PL Forum

Re: FA Trophy > Saturday January 10th His lack of mobility counted against him at L1 level but he isn't over the hill imo and should be playing in L2 or a decent Conference side, surprised he has dropped so low - and remember he also had 18 months left on his 2 year deal with us, there is no way he would have taken a drop in money and those wages would be L1 standard.

Re: FA Trophy > Saturday January 10th 4 upsets to small stakes for me in the Trophy. Burgess Hill landed at massive odds for me in the last round and they are worth backing again against Dartford although their star striker has now gone but home advantage will be massive as the ground is tiny. FGR aren't in bad form at the moment but Ebbsfleet on their day are a very good side and with Kedwell now in the team they are a big price. Hyde are huge at 6/1 to beat a North Ferriby side who have been rather inconsistent this season. Gary Lowe clearly had a big effect against Barrow and they should not be 6/1 to beat NF. Bromley do better away and with Torquay flattering to deceive at the moment they are worth a bet as well.

Re: FA Trophy > Saturday January 10th I think Altrincham are a sporting play at Kiddy 9/2 seems too big to ignore. 3/1 for the draw as a buffer. Alty have been in fine form of late and can upset when least expected to take recent visits to Eastliegh and Halifax for example. Kiddy on the other hand seem to be blowing hot and cold. Striker Gash has just left and he is decent. Lets hope they blow cold !.

I wouldn't pay much attention to gash leaving given he had already gone on loan to Nuneaton and I don't think he is that good anyway. Sent from my GT-I8190N using PL Forum

How is it a massive advantage if the ground is small ? Must admit Chappers is doing a brilliant job at BH

Because Dartford won't be used to playing at a ground like that. It's a far cry from grounds in the conference. Sent from my GT-I8190N using PL Forum

I'd agree with that on the whole, but it's not the case with Dartford. We still have half a dozen players in our current squad who played at Ryman level with us, and another few who played at that level in the last few years. By current performances, a few will be playing back there soon!

Still think there is a case for players getting used to playing at big grounds every week and having been to Burgess Hill I know what a difference it is. Only know the result was it much of a scare. Sent from my GT-I8190N using PL Forum

I didn't think Hill looked like winning it particularly but it was looking increasingly like we weren't going to get a winner and a draw was probably a fair result.
