  1. drag nice win for you always follow your hunch despite what others think, well done.
  2. addpea can you explain why you think this ? as i doubt very much that Bromleys odd's shrunk just because you decided to tip them on here.
  3. Stand out bet for me this weekend is in the FA Trophy is Shaw Lane Aquaforce to beat Matlock Town at 8/5 Despite being a league lower Shaw Lane are the stronger outfit in my humble opinion. SL have a few players who have played in the football league. The back line in solid and with 7 clean sheets from 8 i dont feel Matlock will trouble them based on how i saw Matlock play last week.Up front they seemed pretty limp. I believe i saw in the press is that the manager who is approaching 40 was even going to put himself on midweek as they need 2 more strikers. Ok they scored 3 last Saturday v Frickley but beleive me 2 of those goals were gift wrapped. No9 was left unmarked in 15 yards of space in the Frickley area. The 3rd was a complete cockup with the Frickley goalie trying to nutmeg a Matlock player in his six yard box instead of hoofing it upfield after a pass back. So unless you were there you would think the 3-0 win was a convincing display .... it was from from that. In contrast the Shaw Lane forward line have looked razor sharp of late and have banged in ten goals in the last two games. The 5-0 win v Basford was the most ruthless display i have seen by a NL side this season. They made a decent Basford team look very ordinary and they won in a hack canter, hard held. The only question mark is will they rest certain key players and take the competition seriously. I am aware their main aim is get into the national Conference within 3 seasons. With their wealthy backer not shy of spending the cash they could achieve their goal sooner rather than later. But with the final being played at Wembley there is a fair chance they will be and i am willing to take that risk considering my odds were just south of Evens. The 8/5 is very generous.
  4. 3pts - Halifax 11/8 to beat Kidderminster has my interest. The Shay in recent seasons has been a fortress and i feel they will turn kiddy over. 2pts - Woking 6/4 to win at Guiseley. Cards have had an 'ace' start despite being 'dealt' a blow with the loss of Scott Rendell. After 'shuffling their pack' to decent effect they sit 3rd in the table. I personally think that Gary Hill is the shrewdest Manager in the division and it is suprising how a league club has not snapped him up. Alfreton v Hednesford looks a solid BTTS investment
  5. 2pts BTTS Double @ 2.93 Sutton v Concord Gratham v Marine 1pt BTTS Treble + Bromley v Gateshead @ 4.86
  6. a solid profit ? only 2 from 6 selections correct - what was your staking plan ?
  7. where are addpeas tips ? he usually puts them up.
  8. Ok you got none correct from six, which is not great but August is a tricky month. For the last 3 August BH fixtures i have experienced similar days, things have not settled down yet and we are backing a little blind still. In this situation the BTTS market is a good way to go i think. Just a shame statto.com is down because it was a brilliant tool. BTW Garry Flitcroft left Chorley for two reasons. To concentrate on his new building business and to enjoy the pleasure of watching his young son play at Man City
  9. Managed to squeeze a very small 10% profit in the day - shame Ferriby could not just score at Tamworth otherwise it would have been and excellent start. Not to worry as games come thick and fast this month. Out 5pts In 5.58pts +0.58pts
  10. Very tricky opening day card but hopefully will be able to make a return on these. 2pts Stalybridge Celtic to win at Hednesford @ 29/10 Watson will want to get off to a flyer. Saw the other day Hyde gaffer Lowe was singing the praises of the new look celtic outfit. Hed have lost a lot of players and are rebuilding again. Price certainly has some value. 2pt BTTS Double @ 2.79 Hednesford v Stalybridge & Oxford City v Chelmsford City 1pt BTTS Treble + Tamworth v N Ferriby @ 4.52
  11. Josh Payne is a significant signing for Eastleigh as he is class player . Big loss for Woking. 13/10 Eastliegh to finish in top 5 - would others on here think its value ?
  12. For me Blyth Spartans at 16's represent decent EW value. Despite losing a couple of players to higher league clubs. Wade is a shrewd guy who seems to have recruited well. As stated above the value in Salford has gone. Maybe Darlo who will be strong are worth a cover bet at 7's. Should be a decent league this season. In the NPL Div 1 North - Bamber Bridge are my strongest single. After just missing out the last two seasons they have made fantastic signings for the league . Notably ex league player Brett Ormroyd who if fit will bang a few in the net in this league for sure. Sadly before prices were given i was hoping at least 10's , they opened 6's and are now 7/2. Big dangers will be Spennymoor at 8's. They had a great first season in the division and only lost out due to a huge backlog of games which finally took its toll. They are defo worth a few shillings NPL Div 1 South - watch out for Shaw Lane i managed to get 12's but they are now 8/1. The squad they have assembled is very impressive. Including former league defenders with over 600 league appearances between them . Forward line is maybe the best in that division especially as their top scorer last season who scored for fun is about 4th choice this season. Gav Allott who scores when he wants from Frickley has not gone there for the Barnsley scenery (money also talks). Think its unfair that a club who does not have there own ground can virtually 'buy' there passage to higher leagues. Rugby Town and Stafford Rangers are the other teams that will also go very close but 9/2 now for Stafford offers no value except in multiples.Maybe if they get off to a poor start and drift to around 10's i will get involved as its a very long season. Blyth Bamber + Spennymoor Shaw Lane 4 singles & 2 x EW Trixie bets with our friend Mr Victor
  13. For some reason i have a sneaky feeling for B Snedeker @66's (hills, corals). Have noticed he has improved form of late with strong finishes. I have been backing him for the last 6 weeks at 66's (bfreds have chopped him to 40's some are showing 33's) even if he is placed i will be pleased but if he wins then mega happy and straight to the travel agent. But then again he my miss the cut ! But sometimes you have just got to 'go for it' and follow your hunch.
  14. Re: Conference 18th April Most interesting game in the Conf is Alfreton v Welling - both on 44 points and both on the relegation cusp. Hard match to call , if forced to bet i would go for BTTS . If Alfreton win then Southport could be sucked in. Especially as they visit Welling on the last day. Very exciting. Good on Alfreton for making the big game a "pay what you want" as usually it is an eye-watering £18 for entry. My 50p is ready for what should be a decent day out.
