Cheltenham 1:20 - Betbright Novices' Chase(Dipper) (Grade 2) (1) 2m5f Ptit Zig bolted up in a Grade 2 at Ascot two weeks ago, beating a good horse in Josses Hill by 9 lengths and a reproduction of that should be enough to land this. He is now seeking a fourth straight victory but he does have to prove his stamine over 2m5f and when previously tried over 2m4f at Aintree he didn't see it out, so there are slight question marks. If he gets the trip though, he should win. Champagne West is a two time course and distance winner and his valuable experience here could count for a lot too. In what is a fascinating race, you can make a case for most here, but I have had a small play on Clondaw Kaempfer who showed some smart form when beating Caid Du Berlais at Aintree earlier in the year. Re: National Hunt Racing > New Years Day Cheltenham 1:55 - Betbright Best For Festival Betting Handicap Chase(Grade 3) (1) 2m5f With Venetia Williams in good form of late after her landing the Welsh Grand National a few days ago, Tenor Nivernais could be a horse that could play a part in the finish here. The 7 year old came back from a break to beat King Edmund by a short head at Kempton in November and he should strip fitter and improve on that tomorrow. Sean Bowen picks up a nice ride on Rolling Aces who ran a nice race in the Grand Sefton at Aintree recently when 4th behind Poole Master. The clear value in the race for me is Champion Court, a horse off a really low weight who loves it here, and Martin Keighley struck here at Cheltenham in December with Any Currency and Benbane Head. Re: National Hunt Racing > New Years Day Mr Pipe has four runners in this race so will be very disappointed if he doesn't take hope home the Gold Medal and maybe even a Silver or Bronze too, i like the look of his runner that carries the famous colours of Mr Johnson and could be worth a market watch. The 6yr old gelding only has the 3 runs and is yet to score but could turn up today a very very different horse, did race here last time out back in May and came home 4th from the 17 runners, that last outing will just have been nothing more than another gentle intro into the game and he will not of had a tough time, however the first 4 home that day were still a long way clear of the rest of the field and if Mr Pipe has him fully wound up for this they wont see which way he went. Its a poor looking class 5 and the only Danger to this Pipe runner is another Pipe horse. 13:10 Exeter - Our Chief. E/w Bet!
