Re: Conference 26th December and 28th December Looking through the entire Boxing Day coupon in all divisions I cannot fathom why Macclesfield are the odds they are at home to Grimsby. I know Grimsby are the bigger club but other than that can someone shed any light on the pricing?

Re: Conference 26th December and 28th December At first glance,i think Altrincham must be the bet of the weekend in here. They are doing great, unbeaten in 4 and slowly climbing up the table.Their form is improving and i doubt they can be stopped by the totally out of form Nuneaten. You might say that they put 4 past Telford, but the opposite would be true too.Yesteday Nuneaten conceded 2 goals in the added time which must have been really frustrating. Now they remain winless in 6 and we i think Altrincham have a good chance to make them 7.The situation is not getting better for them being the worst pefrorming visiting side with 32 conceded goals in their 14 away games so far. They have scored just 5 so you see my point here.I doubt the odds to last longer so i am taking this one before even addpea shares an opinion.HW @ 1.75 with bet365.

Re: Conference 26th December and 28th December Another one i am taking early on is Halifax to beat Chester at home. The away side, despite the good start to the season, look in real trouble at the minute. They were well beaten in their last 4 games, including the FA Cup elimination, and tomorrow they will have to travel to visit one of the teams in form in the league.Halifax don't have the home form they had last season but seem to be regaining confidence after 3 consecutive wins. They are the 3rd best playing home side in the league and whist i like Chester who brought me in a lot of cash last season they seem to be underperforming now. There is no doubt the schedule hasn't been kind to them in the last month but that shows they cannot compare to the top sides in the division yet.Halifax are 1 game short and if they win tomorrow they will be in the playoff zone.Chester have scored just a single goal in their last 4 games and it was for the FA against Telford.HW to me @ 1.6 with bet365.

Re: Conference 26th December and 28th December Is there any particular reason why Barnet are so short at home. They obviously are the best team around here but Dover are on a great run of form and must not be underrestimated like that.Barnet are not Chelsea and City so i think they shouldn't be such a strong favourites for this one.I think Dover on some sort of + handicap could be a value bet as they delivered well yesterday too.

I can see the point you are making and I guess some will see Alty as value because of Nuneaton's away form, but lumping on at odds on doesn't really appeal to me. It was a good win for Alty yesterday to be fair, but I am not a massive fan of backing a team in a relegation battle at such short odds. Might be more one to stick in accas.

How did Chester make you lots of cash last season? They finished in the bottom 4. Again the price doesn't massively excite although their busy schedule might just be catching up with them basing on their result yesteday.

You say Barnet aren't Chelsea/Man City, but they are nine points clear at the top of the table and that is pretty big at this stage of the season. Barnet soundly beat Dover in the reverse fixture which was on TV, but they are a different side now. I think it is a fair point though that Dover are too big and I wouldn't put anyone off an interest although doubt it will be something I will back as Dover are part-time and that always has to come into it at this time off year.

Re: Conference 26th December and 28th December

I won't be betting on Dover on any sort of handicap.I tipped what my bets will be and it was only a suggestion for Dover.I can see that Dover are not that good usually and that's a temporary thing(their good streak i mean).
Not sure you could call going on an unbeaten run for so long as a temporary thing. They will obviously be beaten eventually but my point was they are a very different side from the one Barnet beat 3-0 on TV earlier in the season. They probably have an outside shot of getting in the play-offs especially as they will have money to spend in January thanks to the FA Cup run.

Re: Conference 26th December and 28th December Welling - Torquay >> AH -0.25 Torquay @1.99 Pinnacle Sports 3/10 units They write this in their forum ”Our new manager has expressed surprise at the small squad, he inherited which is now down to bare bones because of injuries and illness and now a suspension” ... They played 120 minutes against Ebbsfleet and lost 2-3 , and lost 4-0 in fridays match against Dover.

Re: Conference 26th December and 28th December Just the three bets for me today two in this league and the best bet of the day in the Conference North. I have to continue to oppose Eastleigh away. I must admit I was hoping for bigger than 6/4 on Braintree and I am not sure there is a huge amount of value in those odds, but given Eastleigh's terrible away performances combined with the fact Braintree have won their last two, I am prepared to take it. The other bet is Welling at home to Torquay. As the above post mentions they have had a busy spell having played 120 minutes on Tuesday and then being well beaten by Dover on Friday. However, it is their home form which stands out and they beat Aldershot well last weekend. Torquay were awful in their last away game at Braintree where they didn't even have a shot until late on. They also weren't great at home on Boxing Day to Bristol Rovers. Granted this game should be easier, but it is a long way to travel having played a game 48 hours earlier and if they play like they have in the last two matches then Welling are more than capable off getting something out of this given they are so strong at home. At 9/4 they are worth a small investment.

Re: Conference 26th December and 28th December Big win for Eastleigh which is interesting. If they can get their away performances together then they won't be far away. Frustratingly Welling drew after I backed the draw in their last home game and they won! At least the Nap's Tamworth won 1-0.
