MPLouis
Re: Shakhtar Donetsk v FC Bayern München > Tuesday February 17th According to the UEFA website, this is the two clubs' first meeting. They add that Shakhtar haven't beaten a Bundesliga team at home since 1980. Their last four home games against Bundesliga teams have been three draws and one defeat. Apparently, Bayern have one win, one draw and three defeats from their previous five games in Ukraine. http://www.uefa.com/uefachampionsleague/season=2015/matches/round=2000549/match=2014410/prematch/background/ Due to the conflict in Eastern Ukraine, Shakhtar currently play their home games in Lviv, Western Ukraine. In theory this puts them at a disadvantage, but their home record since the move to Lviv is only a little worse, and still very good. Shakhtar's shots on target stats for the group stage are similar to Bayern's, although Bayern were probably in a stronger group (Man City, Roma and CSKA Moscow) than Shakhtar (Porto, Athletic Bilbao, BATE). Overall, I think Shakhtar's odds are too long and Bayern's too short, and there is some value backing Shakhtar at these odds. Kisvesza
Re: Shakhtar Donetsk v FC Bayern München > Tuesday February 17th Actually, Shaktar was in the weakest group with Bilbao, BATE and Porto. Schalke was with Chelsea, Sporting and Maribor.

kevshat
Re: Shakhtar Donetsk v FC Bayern München > Tuesday February 17th 4pts Over 2.5 goals 1.78 BetVictor Bayern are buzzing at the minute and there is no doubt they are capable of putting this tie to bed in this first leg. They have such a powerful offense it is going to be difficult for a side who haven’t been playing competitively to contain but one thing Shakhtar do have in their favour is a good offensive set up of their own. They are going to have to score in this match to win the tie which should see an open game and one with at least three goals in it. They could conceivably win the tie without scoring in the home leg.

GrandaddyCrunk
Re: Shakhtar Donetsk v FC Bayern München > Tuesday February 17th I wouldn't read too heavily into the 8-0 win...suicidal tactics from the HSV boss, going with a 442 and a center midfield of Diaz (in his first game for the club) and VDV. sajtion
Re: Shakhtar Donetsk v FC Bayern München > Tuesday February 17th in the midst of country in warfare i really think shakhtar could score a goal here. i cannot believe they will just sit back and give all possession to bayern munich. if they play football and take their chances i think they could take something from this game. for shakhtar its important not to be over calculating and just play to score goals. i think going forward is their strength and they have to hope of scoring goals against such team as bayern munich. i am going for both team to score. TEG45
Re: Shakhtar Donetsk v FC Bayern München > Tuesday February 17th Shakhtar Donetsk vs Bayern – Bayern To Win + Total Over 2.5 @ 1.96 Marathonbet This is a game for the Round of “16†between Shakhtar Donetsk and Bayern. Shaktar Donetsk are thrown immediately back into the deep end when they resume competitive action from their winter break. They went unbeaten in 4 of their 6 club friendlies during their time off from competition, losing to both Atletico Mineiro and Bahia. However, they are at their best when they are playing in front of their home support. Have in mind that they didn’t play for any competition at the last 2,5 months. Bayern on the other hand, is coming from two straight wins for Bundesliga where they scored totally 10 goals. They have won 8 of their last 10 competitive fixtures and will welcome back Jerome Boateng, who continues to be suspended from Bundesliga action.
