Re: Vanarama Conference South/North 6th/7th Lowestoft v Brackley Fancying a team strongly whose only win in their last six matches has come against a badly out of form side and who lost 5-1 to the bottom side two games ago looks odd on the face of it, but I really fancy Lowestoft here. First of all they deserved something out of their massive trip to Barrow on Saturday after holding the favourites for the title off until the 72nd minute. Secondly any team going to Lowestoft on a Tuesday night has got a massive trip to look forward too. They have had one home game on a Tuesday night so far and they won that, now that obviously isn’t enough to prove the theory, but they are playing a Brackley side who have only picked up a point away from home this season. That point came against a badly out of form Bradford Park Avenue and although they won on Saturday they aren’t anywhere near as good as they have been in the last couple of seasons. Lowestoft are yet to be defeated at home this season and have conceded just three goals. 13/10 (general) looks a good bet to me. Oxford City v Stockport This is another game I think could be a draw on Tuesday night. Only a point separates these two sides and I think the stats so far suggest that the draw is the most likely outcome. Oxford have drawn three, won one and drawn one in their home games so far whilst Stockport have drawn two, lost two and won just one on their travels. Both teams scored five goals on Saturday and I suspect there isn’t an awful lot between these two sides. The draw at 13/5 (general) looks a sporting play. Bishop’s Stortford v Bromley Bromley are bang in title contention again this season, but it is some disappointing home results which are holding them back. Away from home they are undefeated and as it stands you would probably rather take a short price on them winning when they are away at the moment. They had Saturday off which will help as Bishop’s Stortford lost 2-1 to Hayes on the weeknd. They have only won once at home this season and this is a game Bromley really should be winning. Ladbrokes’ even money is the best available.

Re: Vanarama Conference South/North 6th/7th Mr Addpea - your point of Lowestoft's location is a very valid one. Especially on midweek matches it becomes more important. I remember noticing when they were in the Ryman and they had a midweek match Away on the west/south-West side of London where the M25 had to be negotiated at rush hour. They often returned pointless. I am sure this is also the case in certain areas around the country. I remember reading Mansfield did not win an away midweek league match played on a Tuesday for 3+ years when they were in the Conference. It cant be due to their location in the middle of the country. Has anyone else from this Parish noticed certain teams who struggle away midweek due to their location being a factor ? Eastbourne Borough spring to mind when they go north of Watford.

Re: Vanarama Conference South/North 6th/7th Hednesford Town Evens (BetVic) to beat Colwyn Bay is the one i am interested in, especially after the Pitmen's best perfomance of the season on Saturday winning 2-0 away at Boston United. Hopefully after losing a couple of key players pre-season they are starting to gel. Bay let in five at home on Saturday so it appears some holes need plugging. All other firms are odds on about a Hed win.

Proof tonight that going in on short priced teams away from home is a very risky business as both teams fail to win.

Re: Vanarama Conference South/North 6th/7th

yup....but it was stupid day for betting anyway with not so much choice...:))) more luck tomorrow :D
It is important not to force bets and bet in games just because they are the only ones on. No doubt there were people on Twitter slagging off Chorley and Havant because they cost them their muggy accas, but these are people just backing teams at short odds because they are the only games happening. My highlight of last season was seeing everyone slagging off Welling after Hyde beat them and they cost people their accas, yet having seen Welling in their last game I was on Hyde at huge odds.

Re: Vanarama Conference South/North 6th/7th Does anyone have any thoughts on Maidenhead Utd to win at home against Weston-Super-Mare tonight @ evens? Maidenhead haven't been in the best form this season and have only won one game at home all season but have two wins on the bounce now after signing DJ Campbell. He alone makes Maidenhead a much better proposition in all their games IMO.

I was hoping for a bigger price and I was also waiting make sure dj was going to be playing. He could leave the club at anytime and it would be a rotten bet if he wasn't playing. Interestingly he was actually off the pitch when Maidenhead came back to win on Saturday. Sent from my GT-I8190N using PL Forum

Why is this? Is he likely to not play tonight?

Well he is only playing for Maidenhead whilst he waits for a Football League club to offer him a deal. He used to play for the Maidenhead manager so that is why he has gone there to keep himself fit. He isn't on a contract so essentially as soon as he is offered a deal by another club he will be on his way. He really could leave at anytime which makes punting them purely based on him playing a long way in advance of the game (I wrote my previews on Sunday) is way too risky. As far as I am aware he hasn't left yet so I expect him to be playing tonight.

Ok. Thanks very much for the heads up Addpea.

Re: Vanarama Conference South/North 6th/7th Not a great night as Lowestoft lost as it seems they just couldn't score and Oxford ended up beating Stockport 2-1. Bromley also disappointed with a 1-1 draw. Be interesting to see what BG has to say about Hednesford as they lost again. Seems like they are going to struggle to get near to reaching the heights of last season. Maidenhead won though and as I hinted above as soon as Campbell was certain to start they became a bet although he didn't actually get on the score sheet tonight.
