Re: Chelsea v Liverpool > Sunday December 29th i am gonna make easy money here... chelsea to win @ 2.25 with paddypower, 20 % of my betting fund... price is great for home game, chelsea well rotated in midweek, only miss is ramiress is out due to 5 yellows. liverpool gave everything on boxing day, around 70` min., when they had to chase a game, tiredness were starting to show, and brendans options are simply "tesco ham slice thin", now even moses cannot play for this game, so only options for brendan to bring on later on anyone is .... irby at age of 18 ?! ( never heard of ) ... and besides aspas up front is luis alberto, at 21 ?! ( never heard of either) :D no matter how well they done so far, or being in a blonder at a top, liverpool doesn`t have it to go to stamford and besides luis suarez to really trouble chelsea. can they do another fantastic performance like on a boxing day? no ! man city it self is leaking at a back, and any good team would put in plenty there, without aguero it`s like 2 -3 goals less on score sheet, so for me, what ever result was there and looked like liverpool should of get something... chelsea play different, they are tighter, they are better at set pieces, what is liverpools big problem. they are fresher and well motivated by maurinho for this game, plus don`t see likes of alen , out of place and shaky sissokho, flanagan, henderson, sterling ... give an other "hell of a game" again in 3 days. definite chelsea win for me with double my usual stake @ these odds .... i would say 2 - 0 , 3 - 1

Re: Chelsea v Liverpool > Sunday December 29th 4pts Liverpool to beat Chelsea (DNB) 6/4 Bet365 Liverpool showed on Boxing Day that they can take on any side in this league and create chances and score goals and given that Chelsea have been guilty of missing plenty of chances in recent matches Liverpool will feel they have every chance here, especially with their quality in attacking areas largely around Luis Suarez. Chelsea look a little short to me here and for me with the way they are playing the value lies in Liverpool albeit in the draw no bet market. Re: Chelsea v Liverpool > Sunday December 29th It's clear to see that Mourinho is going to set up his Chelsea side to sit deep and play on the counter against all the top sides. He did this against United, City and Arsenal with success as they didn't lose one of those games. Mourinho has built his success on lethal counter attacking sides but unfortunately for him this Chelsea side does not have the quality and consistency up front to really make this work for him. The defence remains extremely solid when sitting deep but Torres, Eto'o, Ba, Hazard, Oscar, Willian and Schurrle clearly aren't scoring the goals against the top sides and Mata remains on the fringes. Cahill and Terry love this deep set up and thrive under it making it tough for even the best strikers to make an impact unlike when Chelsea open up and push forward leaving the back line exposed. Cahill and Terry in the resulting high line look very dodgy and some of the weaker sides have taken advantage of this. I'm pretty much certain Chelsea will set up deep and look to hit on the counter in this game though and Liverpool will find it tough. Ramires is the only significant missing for Chelsea but in this deep set up his energy may not be missed so much. Liverpool will be missing Gerrard who could produce a piece of magic to unlock deep defences while Sturridge and Enrique also miss out. Liverpool haven't convinced me against the top sides. They'll take a lot of confidence from the performance at City but then again City are an open side which played into Liverpool's hands unlike Chelsea who will be a lot more difficult to play against. Liverpool are always a little dodgy for me at the back but I really can't see Chelsea being very threatening in attack in this counter attacking set up. The home side have drawn a good few games against the big teams and I believe this will be a tight game where the value again is in the draw. Chelsea will be strong defensively and weak going forward and unless Liverpool grab an early goal and force them to open up, this looks like a low scoring affair. 3pts Draw @ 3.5 Bet365

Re: Chelsea v Liverpool > Sunday December 29th Im also keen on moving on Chelsea today. Think that Liverpool have impressed according to the material and that they will struggle today. Chelsea on the other hand have lots of potential, but have had a few top performances. However I think they will come out on top today. Also think under 2,5 goals can be played as it may be a tight game. Also might move on Chelsea and odds to drop on the SpiffX market as I think its a likely scenario!

Re: Chelsea v Liverpool > Sunday December 29th This game is going to be tricky one. Chelsea manage to rest some of their players against Swansea but I think Mourinho will gamble on the same line up. His team will defend and play on counter-attacks and because of this he needs the likes of Hazard, Oscar and Mata which played in the last game against Swansea. He knows that Liverpool make a costly mistake almost every game so Chelsea will be waiting at the back. At the beginning of the season Liverpool`s team struggle in the second half because lack of fitness. Now they don`t rotate the squad so I expect Chelsea to score in the second half. Small stake on Chelsea X/1 HT/FT 5.50 Bet 365

Hasn't this game got draw written all over it? We know Mourinho tends not to open up against top teams and despite the Liverpool haters out there, they're still playing very well. Chelsea have already drawn with Spurs, Arsenal and United. They only beat City 2-1 courtesy of a late late goal. Draw @ 3.5 - bet365 would be my pick as I think Chelsea are a little too short here given both sides have great players capable of winning big games, and I wouldn't rate Chelsea as that much higher than Liverpool. Both sides have a great chance of winning the league and both won't want to lose.

Re: Chelsea v Liverpool > Sunday December 29th * Chelsea have lost 3 of their last 5 home games against Liverpool in the Premier League , winning only once * Last season, Liverpool striker Luis Suarez scored in both games against Chelsea , and he did it in the second half * Chelsea have won just 2 of their last 13 matches against Liverpool in the Premier League (=4-7) * 5 of the last 7 victories over Liverpool, were won by the aristocrats under Jose Mourinho * In the last 14 matches in the capital in the Premier League, Liverpool scored 29 goals (an average of 2.07 goals per game) * In the last 9 calendaristic years matches, Liverpool missed only 3 goals * In 2013, Liverpool scored 83 Premier League goals - more than anyone else in England * Only Samir Nasri from Manchester City sends this season as many potentially assists as Chelsea midfielder Eden Hazard (46) * Only 6 players in the history of the Premier League succeeded in one calendar year to score 30 goals or more. Liverpool striker Luis Suarez after 27 games this season, has 29 goals scored * Chelsea never lost a home match of the Premier League under the leadership of Jose Mourinho Interesting stats. D'oh... This season Chelsea game once again proves that Mourinho - one of the most pragmatic top trainers in Europe , putting the result in the first place , while sacrificing the beauty of the game. You saw how Chelsea played in the last round ? Playing at home against Swansea only team Mourinho has played in what is commonly referred to antif-football. Scored 1 goal and freeze the game in the best traditions of the Greek national team :) The reason is simple - the game in attack , despite the presence of strong hitters , Mourinho can not deliver. At Real went on talented Ronaldo and Ozil , with Inter played strictly on the counter and went by fast Eto'o and Milito phenomenal performance - played on defense. Chelsea striker very little slaughter , all with the team creation big problems (and that showed matches in the Champions League , for example) , because the only chance to achieve results for Mourinho - this is the most reliable tatctic, play in defense. And here is - a specialist. Let's see how Chelsea played this season with the top teams. Man City 2:1, 0:0 Arsenal , Everton 1:0, Newcastle 2:0, Man Utd 0:0, Tottenham 1:1. Only one match was broken Total Over 2.5 , it was a match against Man City , whose defense (especially in away matches) is far from ideal. And so - striking that very little Chelsea scored in these games , but misses little. Dominated the lower teams , and the reason for that - tactics Mourinho. If you have seen at least one of these matches , you know what I mean Chelsea defense at all much better than the attack. David Luiz - Terry have played consistently, spaniard Azpilicueta also does the job well. However, the most important role played by support zone where acts Obi Mikel and Lampard. Chelsea has the ability to freeze the game and do not get one goal from Liverpool, I have no doubt. Of course anything can happen , but the previous matches Chelsea vs top teams give reason to believe in the defense of Mourinho. Of course, the forecast is somewhat risky in the eyes of the majority , because Liverpool - a team that played for Luis Suarez. In the same match against Man City, Liverpool in the last round 1 goal scored, 1 goal not credited by the referee and several times the citizens were saved by Hart. But to Man City, Chelsea scored 2 goals - simply Man City defense does not correspond to the place occupied by the team, they are so high on table only because of the magnificent attack. So the goal from Liverpool in Manchester - not an indicator. And so, against who scored Liverpool that much? That's right, every poor team from the bottom of the table. Arsenal, played away did not score at all, against Man Utd scored only 1. To the Spurs certainly have shipped 5 , but there is a suspicion that Spurs coach was gived an exit so enchanting lost at home. And so, in fact, that statistic Suarez himself fills in matches with any team from the bottom. In the games with the top teams Liverpool scored no more than the rest. And do not think that after a very complex , energy-consuming game on Ettihade where Suarez and the company left a lot of energy (unlike Chelsea , who cleverly won 1-0 and saved force the match with Liverpool) , Liverpool will be able to break through the strong defense Chelsea more than once. In the current season, Liverpool not too convincingly playing away, winning only three games out of nine. It is worth noting that this season away from home , scored twice less points than at home. Chelsea at "Stamford Bridge" won eight matches and tied one. The last two meetings of opponents ended in a draw - 2:2 and 1:1 , and in the Premier League , Chelsea can not win against Liverpool for six games. There is ample evidence that we are waiting for unpredictable match, which is extremely difficult to determine a favorite. I cant make a choice, there are hot and cold trends. Well I dont know, it depends on Luis Suarez..a lot. P.S. - Get well soon, Michael Schumacher ! :hope Michael Schumacher suffered a serious head injury while skiing, according to reports in France... 7-time Formula One world champion Michael Schumacher has been seriously injured skiing in Meribel this Sunday morning.

Re: Chelsea v Liverpool > Sunday December 29th Chelsea

  • 01 Cech
  • 02 Ivanovic
  • 28 Azpilicueta
  • 08 Lampard
  • 24 Cahill
  • 26 Terry
  • 22 Willian
  • 04 David Luiz
  • 29 Eto'o
  • 11 Oscar
  • 17 Hazard
  • lol Mourinho, you're just horrible. I wish Liverpool had Sturridge and Gerrard available, but still going with Liverpool half time draw no bet at 2.20 Sbobet as Liverpool are starting to every game with a big pressure and passion. I think situation might change at the 2nd half with some moves of Mourinho and due to the fatigue of Liverpool players.

Re: Chelsea v Liverpool > Sunday December 29th Big game and one both team need to win to lift the whole side and to keep them in contention for the title. While the form guide says that Liverpool deserve to be favourites heading into this game, I do have a good feeling that Chelsea will win this one. Chelsea has been playing very well against all the top sides this season so far so there's nothing to say why they can't do it again today especially at home where Jose Mourinho has never lost a home game in the EPL. Luis Suarez will no doubt be a big threat and he will be the key for whether Liverpool win today or not. If Chelsea's defence can nullify his influence which I expect they can do then it's going to help them a lot. Their midfield is still more talented than Liverpool's but it's a matter of whether they can work well as a collective in beating them in the midfield. Liverpool's midfielders have worked well with each other this season and this has been one of the reasons why they've done well. Liverpool's defence doesn't stand out to me as being a major strength, but Chelsea's strikers have struggled to find goals this season so far but somehow Chelsea always find a way to get a positive result against the big teams this season. Maybe it's the Mourinho factor. Jose has proved why he is the best coach in the world. He wanted a point against Arsenal and he got it. He wanted a point against Man United and he got. I think Mourinho will play exactly the same as how he played against City earlier in the season where they won 2-1. Sit deep, frustrate Liverpool and hit them on the counter-attack. Liverpool was excellent against City and they were unlucky to lose but their away form is actually pretty bad and considering Chelsea's amazing home record and the fact that Mourinho has never lost a home game, I think Chelsea will edge this 1-0 or 2-1.

Bet lost. Only watched the second half where Liverpool certainly deserved a point but I heard Chelsea were well on top before the break. Suarez should have won a penalty with 10 minutes to go after a moment of madness from Eto'o.
