Re: England > Boxing Day > Skrill North & South Dec 26 Ebbsfleet United away at Bromley (19/10 10Bet) While praising Bromley's sheer guts and spirit in fashioning a ten point lead at the top, I think they'll have to go some to stop the oncoming train that is Ebbsfleet at the moment. Fleet are on a run of five league wins on the bounce and one defeat in nine, and are playing with the verve to take them into title contention, especially with a number of new bodies due in soon. It's eight in a row for Bromley but they have to make do without their creative heart Jay May and also Pierre Joseph-Dubois. Those two were missing at Weston, and they were hanging on in that one for a 1-0 win. I do my own prices and it's nothing like this about Ebbsfleet - in fact, it's a fair bit inside BetInternet's worst-price 6/4, so if - as is likely - the windy risk team at 10Bet only allow you the kind of money that won't even dress a turkey, you can get on at a decent price elsewhere.

Re: England > Boxing Day > Skrill North & South Dec 26 Colwyn Bay at home to Vauxhall Motors (11/10 widespread) A decent enough price about a side that is functioning pretty well now that injuries and suspensions have cleared. They rode their luck at Ferriby, but coming home with a win was an excellent effort, particularly with a man down for the last part of the match. They can be a touch iffy at home but in recent weeks they've been depleted and still managed a decent point against Brackley and a win over Solihull. Vauxhall Motors did superbly well to get a point against Hednesford with ten men, but I'm not sure Hednesford are quite the force they were a month ago. Vauxhall are a spirited and attacking side, but they haven't kept a clean sheet away since August. Bay have the weapons in this one. Basingstoke Town at home to Farnborough (23/20 Ladbrokes, Marathon) Better was available yesterday but I agree with addpea on this one - there is still a touch a value. It was absolutely clear to me from the moment Farnborough announced that one of their players had been indulging in a banned substance (recreational rather than performance enhancing - birds do it, bees do it, even domestic goddesses do it) that something was wrong: clubs don't and shouldn't behave like that in such a public way. It was clear to me from the off that there would be consequences in the dressing room and so it has proved - a scratchy win over Gosport has been followed by three thumpings at Bromley, Chelmsford and Concord. They have been freed from their embargo but they are missing a regular keeper with Matt Lovett and Kevin Scriven both out. Spencer Day seems not be confident in their 18 year old back-up, so has signed another 18 year old to fill the gap. Other signings are in the pipeline, and the squad has a transitional and youthful feel at the moment. Basingstoke have been disappointing, particularly in defensive areas, but at least they managed three at Bishop's Stortford on Saturday. Their good run came to an end with four tricky games: Chelmsford under a new regime, Bromley, Ebbsfleet and Stortford. I don't think they are a top five side, but they are top half and that should be good enough against a Farnborough going through a tricky spell.
