Re: League 2 > Sat 27th April Burton vs Gillingham Since beating Chesterfield away on 23rd February to set a new club record of 11 away wins in a seasom, the Gills go into this game having not won in 6 away games (5 draws and 1 defeat). They take on a Burton side boasting 16 home wins and the best home record in the division. As nothing realistically rests on this game Gills manager Martin Allen has already confirmed that he'll play some of our younger players http://www.kentonline.co.uk/kentonline/sport/2013/april/24/gills_at_burton.aspx I therefore think Betvictor's 8/5 is excellent value for a Burton win. Be quick as i'm sure this will be cut in next to no time Burton to win @ 8/5 (BetVictor) 5 points (5) Edit: even BV's odds of 5/6 for Burton to win no draw look good value

Re: League 2 > Sat 27th April We don't really care about the game, I can confirm that! There are 1,400-1,600 Gills fans going though and Martin Allen has a good relationship with the fans and won't be making a mass of changes I doubt. He usually rotates about 3 or 4 of the first team around anyway from game to game, expect Charlie Lee, Bradley Dack, Myles Weston and Leon Legge will be rested as they have been carrying injuries for a couple of games. Might see Jake Hessentaher (Andy's son) play along with Sam Muggleton or McKain at CB, not sure really I can't imagine more than 3 non-regulars will start though..GK Nelson might make way for Forecast, in fact I think he probably will. We don't lose many away and Burton will be resting players for the play-off games I expect, probably end a draw or a one goal win for Burton.

Re: League 2 > Sat 27th April Cheltenham v Bradford I'll be there on Saturday and don't expect to be leaving with any points. I wouldn't have fancied us with a full strength team but looks like we'll probably rest half a dozen players for the play off games on Thursday and Sunday. Cheltenham can still grab 3rd place if Rotherham slip up at home. We could grab 6th and avoid a possible two legged play off with Cheltenham or Rotherham and would get either Burton or Northampton over 2 legs. I think we'll go there and try to win the game but Cheltenham have a fantastic home record. We went there last season and were leading 1-0 at half time but really should have been 3-0 up with the clear chances we had. Mark Yates showed his skills as a manager and they came out 2nd half and battered us, winning the game 3-1. Pack and McGlashan are quality and they are solid at home with plenty of goals in their side. Wells has been playing well for us and Hanson has improved all season, those 2 and Thompson would be our most likely scorers but you could see Connell/Gray/Thompson up front instead. Cheltenham at that price are fair enough but might be one to avoid betting on until you see the team sheets.

Well, I have this game shortlisted and I am glad to read another opinion especially from a fan of one of the teams. The last round is always very interesting and sometimes there is much value and profit. Bradford don't need the points on Saturday and I don't think that they will risk their best players before the play-offs. Cheltenham can win direct promotion but only if they win and Rotherham is defeated by bottom Aldershot at home. If Rotherham draws which is more realistic Cheltehnam needs to demolish Bradford with 7 goals. Cheltenham will have to start attacking from the very beginning of the game and with Bradford resting players they will most probably score one or two goals. In the other game Aldershot are very hard to beat and the pressure will be on Rotherham. These two matches are played at the same time so if Rotherham manage to score someone in Cheltenham will check the livescore on the internet and motivation will disappear. Also the coach will substitute some good players to save them healthy for the play-offs. So I am not confident with the home win at 90 minutes. Cheltenham to win the first half 2.75 with Bet365. Much more value than Cheltenham to win around evens. Good luck!

Re: League 2 > Sat 27th April Well no need to guess what line-up we will be playing on Sat as we have already announced it on twitter! Forecast, Romeo, Davies, Frampton, Muggleton, Gregory, Dack, Allen, Grant, Weston, Birchall So there will be first team debuts for Romeo, Muggleton and Grant. The whole of the back 5 is rotated and none of them have ever played together, Frampton has been playing defensive midfielder for most of the season. 3 of the midfield are regulars and Weston and Birchall play quite a lot but never together. My initial reaction is that its a fairly weak line-up with two full backs and a winger playing their first games in senior football.

Ah, another Gills fan on PL. Splendid. the 6/4 on Burton is stupendous if you ask me. It is still mathematically possible for them to go up automatically and they'll certainly be aiming to finish higher than they are now for a more favourable playoff draw. Rarely bet against my team, but this is too long a price on Burton not to

Interestingly most of the changes seem to be in defence with all 5 of the regular defence rested. This is arguably the strongest area given the Gills have by far the best defensive record in the league. Given Gillingham have only once scored two goals or more in their last 9 away games I think the changes significantly weaken the team.

Re: League 2 > Sat 27th April Guys, maybe you can give me some pointers about Rotherham. At the start of the competition the bookies put Rotherham with the most chances of winning League 2. Is there a chance to loose the 3rd place? Are they playing a good footbal? Can Aldershot steal a point tomorrow? Thanks!

Re: League 2 > Sat 27th April I am surprised that noone backs Wimbledon. Guys, odds went down from 2.00 to 1.70 since monday. Look at the positions and look at the odds. Only victory plays @Saturday to save themselves from relegation. Definitely one to take. Fleetwood is in awful form.

Overall Wimbledon only managed 5 home wins this season (and 8 draws, 9 lost). It will all depend on Fleetwood who look unmotivated. But if they decide to turn up a little bit a draw isn´t inconceivable (Exeter who are even worse as far as form is concerned managed a 2-2 at Wimbledon two weeks ago). At least H2H stats show an advantage for Wimledon.

Re: League 2 > Sat 27th April Wimbledon definitely has the quality to score goals, I woudnt underestimate their possibilities. Odds are unrealistic, but they can win with one goal margin definitely no matter will they concede or not. I listened to their managers interview and he said Conference is a tough league to play and he will try to do the miracle. Fleetwood on the other hand is very ungrateful to bet on. Definitely most oscillating team in League 2.

Re: League 2 > Sat 27th April

Guys if Burton wins and Rotherham lose is there a chance for Burton to take the third place or do they have to bad +/-1 when it comes to the goal difference?
Gills are champs, Port Vale need a draw at Wycombe to confirm one of the other promotion spots, although Vale's superior goal difference means last Saturday's draw against Northampton almost guarantees promotion. Rotherham can seal promotion with a win against Aldershot on Saturday, while a draw will be enough providing that Cheltenham do not win by seven goals. Even a defeat could see the Millers promoted if Cheltenham do not win, barring an implausible Burton win by nine or more goals. Cheltenham will be promoted if they beat Bradford and Rotherham lose, while Burton, Northampton and Bradford complete the play-off line-up. Two teams will be relegated to the Conference Premier, with all of the bottom seven still fearing for their Football League futures ahead of the final day of the season. Bottom club Aldershot must beat Rotherham and need Barnet to lose at Northampton, with a six-goal swing in the process, to have any hope of survival. Second-bottom Wimbledon are relegated if they lose to Fleetwood, while their goal difference means they are almost certainly down if they draw (barring an implausible result such as a 13-goal defeat for Barnet). But the Dons will stay up if they win, because rivals Dagenham & Redbridge and York are playing each other. Of the other clubs who could go down, Barnet and Dagenham & Redbridge will be safe if they win, but vulnerable (to a Wimbledon win or an Aldershot win with a six-goal swing) if they do not. Torquay, Plymouth and York are safe if they win, almost certainly safe if they draw (because of Wimbledon's poor goal difference) - but they are all vulnerable (especially York) to the drop if they lose, Dagenham and Barnet avoid defeat, and Wimbledon win.

I bet you can't get enough of writing that. I know I can't. Gills are champs
Didnt do it with the same stlyle as some clubs I could mention have done in previous seasons though did you:moon Last year you would have finished 4th with 83 points.

Re: League 2 > Sat 27th April Dag and Red V York Adam Reid first goal scorer 18/1 Bet365 York have been starting games very strongly of late so there is a good chance that they will score the first goal. Midfielder Adam Reid should be high anybody's list of first goal scorer. He has scored 2 from 5 which is as good as anyone else at the club yet he is languishing down at 18/1 in the first goal scorer market. He certainly likes to get forward and has an eye for goal so the 18/1 looks hugely over-priced to me.

Re: League 2 > Sat 27th April Chesterfield 0,-0.5 @ 1.925 bet365...I like home teams on the last game of the season when there's nothing to play for.Exeter are very good away from home with 11 wins away from home but in recent weeks these two teams have been moving in different directions and the momentum is definitely with the home team. The grecians have only won one of their last 10 games while in contrast Chesterfield have won 5 of their last 10.In their last 6 Exeter have drawn one and lost 5 scoring 4 and conceding 11.Today the manager is talking about making a few changes and I feel by his language that he's going to play quite a few youngsters today but that remains to be seen and this coupled with a 4 hour coach journey might give the home team the edge in this nothing match....

Re: League 2 > Sat 27th April Southend 0,-0.5 @ 1.7 bet365....Again a home team on the last day against a team with nothing to play for.Morecambe must make the 5 hour trip south without their top scorer Ellison(13 goals) and also have troubles at the back with McGready and Doyle out and Parrish and Hanning are rated doubtful. Both teams have poor enough form but I'm hoping that the 'last home game syndrome' will be enough for Southend at least not to lose...
