  1. Can't find a thread for Johnstone's paint trophy tonight so I put this in here.Ok for me today it's Gillingham -1 AH at 1.625 to beat Yeovil...these two teams have different agendas heading into this game after differing cup fortunes at the weekend. The Gills were dumped out of the cup losing dismally at Stevenage 3-0 on Saturday while the Glovers pulled off heroics at non league Maidstone winning 0-1 with 9 men on Sunday.Gillingham's manager Justin Edinburgh was fuming after his sides display and he says that this game can't come soon enough. He had them back at training on Sunday he was so angry.Of course there will be changes for the home side.Four players who missed out on Saturday due to suspension and ineligibility may feature Dack(16 app 6 goals),Wright(14 app) missed out through suspension on Saturday and Osilaja(5 app 2 goals,Cardiff loanee) and Lennon(5 app,2 goals,Charlton loanee) were not allowed to play in the FA cup by their clubs.Gillingham(3rd in League 1) boast the best home record in the league with 6-2-0 20/7. Yeovil face a second 6 hour round trip journey in just over 48 hours. They had a few players back from injury for the cup game but they will be missing a few.Their keeper Krysiak is suspended so Weale will make his first start of the season.Sokolik(15 apps 1 goal) is also suspended. He got his marching orders after 7 minutes and Yeovil had to play 83 mins with 10 men and 33 mins with 9 on Sunday.Josh Sheehan(7 app 2 goals) is called up by the Welsh u21 team so he'll be missing and their Coventry loanee Thomas(2 app) is ineligible.Of the players that came back Tozer played his 1st game of the season on Sunday and Sowunmi lasted 18 mins but they say he'll be involved tonight. The Glovers are second from bottom of league 2 and away are 1-1-6 6/13.Of course the cup is the cup but it all points to a comfortable home win for me...
  2. Re: Sky Bet Championship > Saturday January 17th I'm going to prefix this with 'football's a funny old game' and all that and often when you read fans forums and they all predict a loss for their team somehow it doesn't happen but I'm on Derby 0,-0.5 @ 1.45 bet366....a couple of reasons for me...Derby are the highest home scorers in the league with 27 goals so I think they have a good chance of finding the net tomorrow.Forest have failed to score in 5 of their 12 away games and tomorrow they will be a little light up top with Assombalonga(13 goals) and Fryatt(5 goals) missing.I know it's not as simple as that but if you take their goals away then they would be scoreless in 9 of their 12 aways....home win for me with 50% draw cover as Forest have had a few 0-0's away....
  3. Re: Scottish Football > January 16th & 17th Let's get the ball rolling here...Hamilton +2AH @ 1.35 bet366....The thing for me here is that Hamilton score goals, they are the second highest scorers in the league and are the highest home scorers. They have the league's top scorer in Andreu(12 goals) ably assisted by Antoine-Curier and Crawford both with 8 a piece.Of course they haven't got a water tight defense as shown in their 2-3 home loss to Dundee United in their last game but with a two goal head start it means if the 'Accies' score once tomorrow then Celtic need 4 or more for the bet to be a loser. If the 'hoops' are to achieve victory by more than 2 goals tomorrow, they will have to do so without their top scorer Stokes(7 goals).Remember Hamilton won 0-1 in Celtic Park back in October and while they may not achieve this tomorrow, they are hard to beat on their own patch only losing twice and conceding 9 in 10 games. They haven't lost by more than two goals at home this season. In their 1st game at home they lost 0-2 to Inverness but started that match without the above mentioned 3 players and it's the early TV game tomorrow so hopefully the 'Accies' will be at it....
  4. Re: Scottish Football > January 10th - 12th The Motherwell price of 5/2 DNB was certainly good value but it's well gone now....the only other one that catches my eye is Aberdeen to beat St Mirren away....granted the 8/15 is nowhere near value and care should always be taken when backing an away team at less than evens so why take a chance on the 'Dons' at a crappy price?Well firstly there seems to be a hunger and eagerness about them this season now that they have their noses in front. They have a decent away record of 7-0-3 13/8.They have the second best defense(overall and away) and have kept 14 clean sheets this season. In their last game they dominated away at Motherwell(similar quality to St Mirren) and created plenty of chances with 14 shots on goal. They have players that can score and they are hard to beat. St Mirren on the other hand have one of the worst home records in the UK with 0-1-9 4/16 and have yet to keep a clean sheet this season. One of their better players Adam Drury(3 goals) has returned early to Manchester City from his loan and as the 'Buddies' are the second lowest scorers in the league I'm sure he'll be missed.Coincidentally they are also the team with the second highest goals against.Straight away win for me....
  5. Re: Sky Bet Championship > Friday December 26th Leeds 0 AH @ 2.075 bet366....I think this is a great price on the home team not to get beaten today. They have only lost 3 times at home in 11 games and they have the league's third meanest home defense conceding 9....Wigan have won just once away from home this season in 11 league attempts losing 8 on their travels. They have the joint third worst scoring record away with 9 goals scored in 11 games. The latics have just one win from their last 18 and I'm not sure if they should be favourites for this one.Not much on the team news front but Malabgd gives it above.Ryan and Bellusci are expected to be available for the home side.....
  6. Re: Scottish Football > December 20th & 21st Two scoreless draws so it's money back for me...well done to allthethings on the Queens/Annan draw...Weatherson actually played and Queens hit the post but it sounded like an even game...
  7. Re: Scottish Football > December 20th & 21st In league 2....Montrose will be without their top scorer Garry Wood(5 goals) as he is suspended and Annan's top man Weatherson(7 goals) is doubtful.Queen's park and Albion should win but the prices are a very skinny 4/5 and 1/2 for this league.I'm going to put a small draw no bet double on 4/11 and 1/5 on the home sides....
  8. Re: Sky Bet League 1 > Saturday December 20th Gillingham +0.5,+1 @ 1.475 bet366....I think Chesterfield are over-rated today and I think there is value to be had on the home side. The Gills have only lost twice at home in the league this season and Chesterfield have only won twice away. The home side could actually go level on points with the Spirites if they win today so I would have priced the two teams a little closer. On the team news front Kedwell(4 goals) seems to be back in the fold after some talks with the manager and hopefully he's found his focus. For the away side Morsy(18 app,1 goal) and Jones(17 apps) will definitely miss out through suspension and Doyle(20 apps,16 goals) is a major doubt with a hamstring problem. He has traveled with the squad but with a hectic festive fixture list coming up he may not be risked today.....
  9. Re: Sky Bet League 1 > Saturday December 20th Barnsley 0 AH @1.9 bet366...I'm taking on Leyton Orient again and I've found in the last couple of weeks they've been over-rated by the bookies.Today their price is a little bit more realistic but the O's could be missing 5 strikers,Dagnall(3 goals), Henderson(5 goals) and Lisbie(1 goal, only played 3 games) are definitely out while Mooney(3 goals) and Plasmati(2 goals) are doubts.Barnsley aren't exactly setting League one on fire but they are the 6th top scorers and the third home top scorers.Unfortunately the tykes defense has been their undoing in a lot of games with 34 conceded in 20 games but Orient aren't far behind with 31.I think that the home side will outscore the visitors today,so home team not to lose for me....
  10. Re: Johnstones Paint Trophy > Saturday December 6th Gillingham +0.5,+1 @1.475...bet366...I've taken on Orient a few times this season and I'm willing to do the same today. The bookies make the O's favourites today just as they did a couple of weeks ago when these teams met in the league.Gillingham came out on top on that occasion and I think the 11/5 for a home win today is very much on the generous side. The league game seemed to be a pretty even affair and the Gills have only lost 2 of their 10 home league games this season.Orient have won 3 out of 10 away and they could miss 4 strikers today.Dagnall(3 goals) is suspended,Henderson(5 goals) and Simpson(3 goals) are major doubts and Lisbie is a long term absentee.Jack Price has been recalled by Wolves.I'm expecting an even match again today but I think the price on the home side is worth a shot....
  11. Re: Sky Bet Championship > December 5th & 6th Derby 0,-0.5 @ 1.575 bet366....Only Watford have scored more goals at home in the league than the rams. They have lost only once on home soil in 9 and I think this coupled with Brighton's 1 away win in 9 gives the home side a good chance of taking the 3 points tomorrow.Squadwise Derby also have the advantage and I think they pose more of a goal threat especially with Lualua(2 goals) and Colunga(2 goals) missing for the seasiders. Both sides could be missing their skippers with the ever present Keogh struggling for the Rams and Greer(2 goals) doubtful for the 3 hour 30 trip north for Brighton....home win for me..
