BBOTD Sunday 21st April 2012

Recommended Posts

Think the last time i tipped up a winner on this site Nelson Mandela was doing his borstal. The Whillans combo won the last race on the card at Ayr, that being the bumper, they now pack up and saddle up the horses and head for Newcastle for just the one runner / one ride. Yet another bumper and not much too go on but they must have some confidence and it could be a case of sticking with them and striking while the iron is hot, owned by the distillery racing club it will no-doubt have its followers so could be worth taking and early price. The Jennie Candish runner could prove a Big Danger and is worth a close market check. 5:20 Newcastle - Mixed Blend. 0.5 E/w Bet @ SP

Re: BBOTD Sunday 21st April 2012 220 Newcastle: Lord Wishes (4/6 BetVic) Tricky day so going with Lord Wishes who really should out class this lot and thought he would be unbackable to be honest so 4/6 looks decent value to me. Very highly regarded and carries a penalty for winning at Musselburgh in December. Last time ran well when third to Aaim To Prosper and Cockney Trucker in a class 2 handicap off 136 and that form is more than good enough. The only danger appears to be Brady from the McCain yard, he's finished second on two starts over fences and it looks like they are keeping his novice status in tact for next season so switches back to hurdles, he did win earlier in the season over the smaller obstacles but has met nothing like the calibre of Lord Wishes and has to meet him on level weights.
