*Priest Island > Fontwell 4:50 > WIN @ 11/4 VC BOG* Looks like a typical Tom George improver this horse. Travelled really well for a long way when 4th of 16 at Ludlow last time out, going off at 29.54, trading as low as 3.25 in-running. Steps back a small bit in trip which should suit, and starts off a very leniant mark of 107, would not have to be a superstar to win off that mark. Thundering Home the obvious danger, but that one does tend to get a bit outpaced.

Re: Jump Racing > Sunday 24th February 3:45 Fontwell – Totepool National Spirit Hurdle PROSPECT WELLS failed to stay last time, but is a classy horse and this two and half miles trip should suit. Last season he proved himself as one of the top novice hurdlers and finished close in the Supreme Novices’ Hurdle, where he stayed on well. First time out this season, he gave Zarkandar a serious race at Wincanton, in receipt of 17 pounds, but considering what the winner has gone on to do since, it was a fair run. He usually travels and jumps well in his races and has a good chance here.

Re: Jump Racing > Sunday 24th February 3:35 Naas DEFY LOGIC trounced his rivals last time out and it was a performance of a seriously good horse. From a family of top-class chaser Strong Promise, he performed a real class display with good horse mad brian destroyed and unseating a very tierd horse. With this been defy logic's only 2nd outing over hurdles surely there will be plenty more to come from him, and he has the raw ability to go to the top. Sundays event will be a lot tougher with the likes of Annie Power and Don Cossack, but i recon that all things been equal Defy Logic is capable of giving this field a good spanking. Best Price this evening 7/4 Boylesport, Paddy Power, BetVictor this is good value as if he performs like he should this price is way to big.

Re: Jump Racing > Sunday 24th February 4:10 Naas DAYS HOTEL can get back on track here. He made a real ash of the 3rd last fence last time out after keeping on really well. This mistake finished the race for days hotel picking a injury up along the way. Already a better chaser than a hurdler he is also better over 2m giving him real claims on sunday. Days Hotel was progressing nicely before and if he carries no scars he should take all the beating. Best Price 5/4 stanjames, paddy power (a bit skinny)

Re: Jump Racing > Sunday 24th February 4.50 - Naas - Free To Dream @ 9/1 >paddypower Not often i have a bet on Irish racing but i put this one in my notebook after his penultimate run. He finished a close 4th that day in a competitive race at Fairyhouse and the way he travelled caught my eye, the form of that race has worked out well with the 2nd and 7th placed horses finishing 1-2 next time out in a valuble handicap. He was then outclassed in a grade 2 race won by a top prospect in Pont Alexandre and although he was well beaten, i dont feel it was a poor run at all. Goes back into a handicap now off a mark of 123 which i certainly think is workable. The yard seem fairly confident of this ones chances with Davy Russell a very interesting jockey booking, he does have to carry top weight but he copes with the heavy ground and i think he could go very well here.

Re: Jump Racing > Sunday 24th February 4.50 Fontwell - 1pt win Invicta Lake @ 7/1 (Sportingbet) The favourite is hugely respected here but his price with non-runners has got too short for me with the potential to bounce after a promising return from a lengthy lay-off and I'll take it on with Suzy Smith's runner. The gelding had been wholly consistent until his effort last time when the trainer could offer no explanation for the fact he was beaten 39l. This is an easier race but if he runs like that then he won't be winning this anyway. However, given his general profile it may pay to forgive him that and he's had a bit of a break since. Before that run he won by 4l over today's c&d (idled) so conditions suit and he didn't do much wrong prior to that behind some decent types in novice events. I don't think this is a very strong race so a 7lb rise may not stop him and it's interesting that the trainer has hired the assistance of Richard Johnson for the first time on one of her horses. Take out his latest effort and he wouldn't be this price so I'm just hoping that was a mere blip and he can repay the faith today.

315 Fontwell: Princely Hero 1pt (9/1 BetVic/BlSq) Course specialist Princely Hero is due a win and now down to a very nice mark. Ran over and inadequate trip last time and has been over hurdles lately. Has been placed and ran as though something was in the pipeline and i reckon this race could be it. Ideal conditions on his fav track, trainer going well and found a pretty weak race for the prize money, must go close today although can be a tricky ride and comes under pressure early in his races, jockey Tom Canon is superb at pushing and shoving and wont give up.
