Les rouges et blancs were on the brink of implosion, having not won since October and talks of a revolt against manager Fournier by some players over a game of poker. Since then though, they defeated Nancy and rallied well to get a good point at home to in-form Saint-Etienne. Travelling to the Stade du Ray to face Nice is not an easy task, but I give them a decent chance in this one. Fournier, through suspension rather than design, had to bring Fofana in for Tacalfred in the centre of defence for the previous two matches and he's shored things up. For me, the Malian is a far better defender. He'll have to deal with Maupay, but he's not Cvitanich (out injured), and at 16-years-old, he will have off-days. Reims also have Diego back on the left wing, who is more than capable of giving young Puel a difficult night in only his second match in the team. Nice are a decent side, but I can't see them qualifying for Europe this season, despite their position at the moment. I have watched Reims played and they are a lot more aggressive when they play at home .. The french saints are in good form and i have however choose an x2 here. For another bet instead I have gone with Lille straght win, given their current form and missings of AJA that are particularly Mutu and Beghoulzani (total missings are 12 gol and assists, creativity and threat for visitors).When you consider that at home AJA has score so far only 12 goal and now they are all missings them, it is logical to favorite the guest. even if the ball is circolar! The hate between these 2 clubs is very high, and i think PSG want to crush their opponent given also to the fact that last year marseille practically made a gift to Montpellier making them life easy and let them win (even if Deschamps said the contrary). On a Marseille supporters website, the fans put up a comunication in which they were intimidating players of Marseille telling them to loose with montpellier in order to favorite the same team to win the title and so destroying hopes of PSG. To be clear, home have no value to me. These two French giants will play again at Parc des Princes on Wednesday (Coupe de France). Although PSG is the leader, they have lost their last match against Sochaux (2:3), while Marseille came on five points deficit with win and scored a goal in 94th minute against Valenciennes in the last round. Silva and Sakho (key defenders) are out, and another regular defender Alex is in doubt for home side (Beckham will make his debut). The guests will be without suspended striker J. Ayew and injured midfielders Cheyrou and Amalfitano, but Valbuena, A. Ayew and Gignac are still there. Marseille's weaker team (not as much as odds show), but they scored at least one goal in the last 13 Ligue 1 games against the Parisians who have certain problems in defense lately.
