Re: England > Weekend > Northern, Southern & Ryman Prem Feb 16 Not loads for me this week... FC United of Manchester away at Marine (6/5 widespread) The 5/4 at BetVics has been snaffled, but there's a small bit of value still here. FCUM are on as good a run as we've seen in this section and with Ferriby still to come at home and a fond-looking fixture list they are live title challengers (the 14s from Tuesday has gone; now a best of 9s which is still acceptable). They've attacking options aplenty and there are signs that they are adopting a more responsible attitude defensively. Marine are no mugs, but they've mostly been a little off colour lately - it's two wins out of six, and one of those was against Kendal. St Albans City at home to Bideford (5/6 widespread) An acceptable price about the home side. They didn't start too well against Redditch last week, but soon pulled away in the second half. I expect a sternish challenge from Bideford, who have actually done pretty well away from home recently. But they've managed just one clean sheet on their travels and the born-again home side have the edge. Rushall Olympic/Bognor Regis Town double (8/11, 4/11 Coral) It pays about 11/8 and that's okay. Rushall are on a stonking run - four wins and two draws in the last six. They've been freshening up the personnel and they've built a squad that's functioning well on heavy pitches. Blyth are struggling to make headway and arrive off the bus with just a solitary point at Grantham to show for eight road trips. Bognor have been suffering a mini-dip in form, but should do okay against imploding Cray (Corals go 5/6 about the HT/FT Bognor, which is not to be sniffed at). Wingate & Finchley at home to Bury Town (29/20 BetVics) A punchy play but I'm still not convinced that Bury are as competitive as their league position suggests, despite the re-signing of the excellent Craig Parker. W&F have been operating a revolving door recruitment policy for several months, so you have to choose your moments to side with them. Defensively they are pretty ropey but they have some decent attacking players now, including Hector Mackie, and striker Spencer Belotti, who scored twice on his debut last week. It's four straight defeats for Bury now, and they easily could have lost the game before that sequence started, a 1-0 win at Canvey.

Re: England > Weekend > Northern, Southern & Ryman Prem Feb 16 Im really not an expert in this league, but i ran into some info....... Nantwick Town - Matlock Town It seems that Matloch is hit hard by injuries here: We'll be down to the bare bones so we'll have to see who's fit and available and pick a side accordingly," said the manager, who was pleased to emerge from the Carlton game with a win to earn an away tie at Grantham Town on February 26. It's a bit of a tricky one because of Nantwich's home form. Take out the scrappy win over Stocksbridge and they haven't won or kept a clean sheet at home since August. I've backed them a few times this season, and away they've been quite a good play, where their counter-attacking approach works much better. They've also been shedding a few bodies from the squad, with the suggestion that they are cutting their cloth and making preparations for next season. My own price about Nantwich is a bit inside the 13/10 on offer at BetVics, and I wouldn't put you off as it's a sporting play, but personally I don't have enough confidence in Nantwich on their own patch.

Guys' date='what aboyt gosport-Bedworth?I see that Gosport is in form and play very good at home while Bedworth have lost 6 of their last 7 games.Odds are not so high but ok if there aren't any missing players in the home squad?[/quote'] Gosport should win. I've opposed them a couple of times recently and got them wrong each time. They are still missing their key striker Justin Bennett but in his long absence they've signed Rory Williams from GE Hamble in the Wessex League, who he has been superb (including a hat-trick last week at Banbury), though at home they've not always been as convincing as the long unbeaten run suggests. Bedworth are conceding too many at the moment, although performances have sometimes been better than results. They've a decent forward pairing in David Blenkinsopp and Mitchell Piggon, a creative midfield that doesn't really offer the necessary bite, and a defence that occasionally turns to paper. Though big favourites, a best of 4/7 about Gosport is a little on the short side.

Re: England > Weekend > Northern, Southern & Ryman Prem Feb 16 I'm just about to head off down to Hastings for their match with Lowestoft Town. I fully expect Lowestoft to bag the 3 points as what I've seen of Hastings lately hasn't impressed. Lowestoft are pretty much at full strength and haven't lost since they signed the defender Curtly Williams. They've got a decent midfield and pace and strength up front in Henderson and Defty. Even although Hastings have been a bogey team for LTFC over the last few seasons, man-for-man their a stronger outfit and should be backed at 10/11 (I lumped on yesterday). There should be a few goals at the Enfield/Kingstonian match but I'm not going to have play on that match (although I fancy Kingstonian to nick it).

Re: England > Weekend > Northern, Southern & Ryman Prem Feb 16 Thanks, Ships. Upon arrival at the ground (after a splendid lunch, may I say!) I was met with the unnerving news that Scott Mitchell and Adam Smith of Lowestoft were both out. One sick - the other picked up a knock in training. That filled me with a little trepidation as both are key players. As it transpired, Lowestoft won without getting out of 2nd gear and could have scored any amount and just conceding four flattered Hastings. I do fear for Hastings chances of staying in the RPL as they look to be going backwards, performance wise. They've signed a new striker, Suares who looked just about OK, but their heads dropped and they look like a team that are awaiting their fate. The majority of their players are 6 foot plus and they rely on the 'hoofball' tactic, but they have the turning circle of a bus and anyone with the slightest bit of pace can easily get in behind their defence. They might be a side to oppose in their coming matches... if the price is right.
