What's anybody's experiences of playing there? Any good? Too late for me whatever because oh dear Christ, I've just recently signed up and I've dumped $399 there to get a $100 bonus (I've got $499 to play with but by golly, I think it could go wrong very quickly for me). I'm 'storyman' btw on there (because they don't allow usernames of more than 8 letters/numbers) and I'll be trying to play 250 raked hands at the 50c/$1 tables inside a fortnight. Why? Because I'm after a couple of free poker books, that's why (through some website link or other). :eyes Last time I went through a promotion like this I got thumped over at Victor Chandler Poker but the bonus rescued me. I put in £400, lost about £65 but made a £35 profit thanks to the £100 they gave me (25% deposit bonus after a certain number of action points accumulated). Oh Christ, I hope I'm not going to be a fish. :sad :puke I'm just having a look at how the software runs and looking at the tables to see how some folk play before I dare have a go. :hope

Re: Anybody play at Pacific Poker/888? Yes i do longy11 is my user name. Play there alot they gave me 10 free dollars without a deposit that is now 45 free dollars. So I wouldn't say the standard is great. I play alot of tournaments instead of cash games so not really my field. Did start on the ridiculous 5c/10c table where the standard was that of a 3 year old. My advice is don't try anything fancy don't bluff too much and start with good hands and play them aggressively when youn hit. Oh if you really want to make a killing about 5 in tnhe morning on a saturday or sunday is great. The yanks are always drunk then.

Re: Anybody play at Pacific Poker/888? It's not bad at all mate. Seeing as it was born out of an online casino and not a pure poker site as such when it first started up a couple of years ago the players were all just gamblers and not real poker players and there was money to be made on it. It was just limit when it started but now I think they have just introduced no limit tables? Perhaps you could give us a report back on what the play is like on them as they are liable to be weaker tables at first than on ladbrokes for example. I do have an account with them and will have to fire it up sometime, their customer service is good and your money is certainly safe with them - they have been a very well respected online gambling company for many years. Indeed I think they are advertising in nightclub toilets now :lol Marks advice is good, just be very patient and fold mostly - then play aggressive when you hit something good. This should stand you in good stead at the low tables and help you not to be the fish!

Re: Anybody play at Pacific Poker/888? I use pacific poker my user name is Hathead (big surprise). I usually play the MTT and play very conservative in the 1000 players tourneys you can get down to the last 300 by just folding!!! I have only been playing for 3 months and have made 1 final table and got second 50c buy in and won $26.01.Altogether have won about 100$. Still play mostly freerolls as my game needs more aggression but i have found that by picking hands carefully you can go far in these many players are very loose and just try to bully with crap hands.(i have seen people go all in with 10-4 off suit!) Anyway good site only complaint is there seems to be a few to many disconnections.
