Big Alf
Re: ICC Women's World Cup 2013 NZ are a complete enigma this comp. Have comfortably won the matches they were supposed to but soundly beaten by an Aus team who have made heavy weather of most of their other matches. I think the NZ - WI match is pretty much a final playoff and I fancy the Windies to pull off a victory here. Too many permutations as you say though, which is what makes this a really well formatted competition. Just goes to show you can host a compelling tournament without an overkill of matches. Primevil
Re: ICC Women's World Cup 2013 NZ v WI Well if im not wrong, the same SRI Lankan umpire turned up today, give an LBW against NZ opener,,I will give him the benefit there...But Christ Almighty,,,Sophie Devine dismisal...WOW,,,,,the biggest inside edge on to pad,,,and he gives it..:wall You can hear the double click...I have nothing invested here, but this guy is very very questionable.. I would never back in cricket unless there is a referal decision.....That today takes the biscuit, after watching england the other day. Primevil
Re: ICC Women's World Cup 2013 Another shocker, Kate Broadmore LBW. First time I have ever heard a commentator say, WI are playing with 12 today. Im sorry this guys smellls, I watch alot of cricket at two decisions have been worse than amature. :puke VINEET KULKARNI...Indian umpire. Remember him if you are betting on cricket. And there is no appeal system in place.
Big Alf
Re: ICC Women's World Cup 2013 No pics here but following cricmisinfo they were pretty scathing towards the decisions too. To not have DRS for the fecking world cup is just disgraceful imo and I really think the ICC need to put a rocket up the BCCI's backside to stop them taking any more liberties. Especially in light of the news about them banning overseas players from coming to play on domestic pitches. Think they need to be put out to pasture for a couple of years until they learn to tow the line. Forgive my laziness to google but are the umps for this comp specialist womens cricket officials or do they also officiate mens matches? No elite umpires in comp. 1 in advisory role 1 prem umpire the rest are either learning their trade.....or as the fella in this game not umpired at top level since 2007....some coming back from questionable matches previousley. As you say its a world cup, and if any umpires are on the iffy side....they dont need the publicity. And we know they can be bought in this part of the world. Big Alf
Re: ICC Women's World Cup 2013 A bit strange the start times for tomorrow, surely all games should begin at the same time, must be an advantage for Eng/NZ knowing exactly what they have to do for NRR should WI lose tomorrow. However to put my conspiracy theory cap on, who do you think Australia would rather face in the final. The Windies or England? Wouldnt surprise me if they 'rested' a few players for this match tomorrow so think Aus are a value lay price at 1.4 on Betfair. Was expecting to see them around 1.6 - 1.7 given the circumstances. Marshland
Re: ICC Women's World Cup 2013 I agree about the start times being odd for tomorrow. Perhaps that is the price to be paid for TV exposure ? ( Eng / NZ is live on Sky in UK ). Also about the DRS, I didn't realise this but apparently it is not the BCCI's discretion whether DRS is used or not, even though India are hosting the tournament. It is apparently the ICC's call as this is an ICC-sanctioned event. Said this in the commentary on cricinfo: Just FYI, this is an ICC event so the BCCI has no call on the DRS even though it's being hosted in India. The 2011 World Cup had DRS, remember? I don't remember. But I think we can all agree that the best possible umpires, and all available technology, should be used in this comp which these players have worked hard to get to. Anyway, Aus could well be a lay. Was trying to find out if Perry was still sick but couldn't get this confirmed. I also think NZ might be a bit worth a look at 9/5 ( sportingbet ). By all accounts they were stitched up in the WI game so their position in the table is arguably a bit false. Sense of injustice could get them fired up ? Also, they beat England in that warm up match not so long ago. I'm sure England will expect to win this game, but the comp has not gone perfectly for them so far and there will be a lot of pressure on them as defending champs in what may well be a knock-out game ( if WI lose to Aus ). Big Alf
Re: ICC Women's World Cup 2013 Just had a little nibble on NZ outright at 10.5 with Betfair - WI currently 54/4 and negligible run rate difference between the three looking for the final spot. Too big a price not to take a punt on.
Marshland
Re: ICC Women's World Cup 2013 Windies beat Aus by 8 runs and are in the final. Who would have thought ?! You called that lay spot on Alf, got them at 1.2 in the innings break. Poor nz and england now have to play out a meaningless match. Imagine how they must feel. England will look back on that narrow defeat to Aus I'm sure.
Big Alf
Re: ICC Women's World Cup 2013 That was a strange one, Australia were home and hosed, traded 1.02. You would think however if they were going to drop their hands they would have done so in the field rather than collapsing. Unless of course they were trying to win without effecting the WI NRR? It's actually quite sad that we are focusing on this sort of thing rather than giving the Windies girls any credit, same with the umpiring decisions during the last match. Anyway top shout mate, 40/1 shot into the final :cigar Eng 1.13 to lay mid innings, far to low given the circumstances if you ask me. CobraCraig
Re: ICC Women's World Cup 2013 New Zealand at 3.2 on betfair, cruising at the moment and england cant seem to catch and the umpires dont seem to want to give an lbw decision
CobraCraig
Re: ICC Women's World Cup 2013 New Zealand can be had at 13.5 now, surely its not impossible to get 42 in just over 4 overs?
kevshat
Re: ICC Women's World Cup 2013 Great shout on the West Indies outright. Hope they can go on and win it now. The way this tournament has gone it certainly can't be ruled out. :hope

Appreciate that :) Hindsight now comes into play and makes me wish I had held on to the original bet at 150 ! Can't look at it that way though, was fortunate to have a chance to lay off and lock in a profit the other day and I think that had to be done at the time. Just glad I went back in for another nibble ! Regarding the game, I guess there is a danger of tarring the Aussies with the BPL brush ! If you take it on face value then I'm sure they would have wanted to win, and WI getting to the final is a great achievement. Sunday should be good, been plenty of surprises so far as you say Kev so either result feels possible !
