Re: Championship > 17/18 November burnley v charlton burnley used to be free flowing attacking side but concede a lot before their new manager took over, now they are more organised and hard working adn defensive but maybe have stemmed their attacking capabilities by some and maybe be their star strikers amazing goal scoring run. They have already 2 home wins but against badly performing wolves and leeds sides. Charlton have only lost twice away and that was in their first 3 away games, and are starting to adjust their team without their 2 first team strikers. I think will have no fear about facing burnley away and this is close to a 50/50 game with maybe burnley having the slight edge, so charltons +0.5 1.85 odds offer excelllent value.

Re: Championship > 17/18 November notts forest v sheff wed forest 1.98 to beat sheff wed are around the same odds as middlesbrough on friday were to beat sheff wed. and for the same reason that sheff wed defence has been found out v top half teams where they have picked up little points and conceded many goals and i see this trend continuing v forest and the odds offered offer excellent value. after a really bad run sheff w did have a mini revival with wins v lowly peterbrough and badly performing ipswich but have been beaten and taken apart with ease by blackpool and middlesbrough since then. forest apart from their bad 4-1 home loss v millwall are starting to gel and steadied the ship with 2 draws v high placed middlesbrough and leicester. forest -0.5 1.98

Re: Championship > 17/18 November Stand out bet for me this weekend is crystal palace at home to Derby at decent odds of 10/11 with paddy power. Palace have lost 3 games this season and they were the first 3 games OF the season. Since then they havent lost in the league and are on a real roll. Derby are not pulling up any trees at the moment and are by their managers admission missing injured forward jamie Ward. Away from home the rams are nothing special, losing the last two at lowly peterborough and last week to millwall. The eagles are second highest scorers in the division, and new manager ian Holloway will certainly not change the way they play as the 5-0 drubbing of Ipswich in the last home match proves. Im getting in early on this doing a double with bournemouth as i think the price will fall. Be lucky chaps!

Re: Championship > 17/18 November Is a fairly obvious bet this one Blackpool to win at Bristol City 2.25 Coral. Ian Holloway left Blackpool in very good shape they are a handful for anyone. Bristol city well what can you say 7 losses in a row. Their squad really is poor if they were in league 1 I think they would be no better than mid table. They have quite a few Bristol born players who have become an embarrassment. They persevere with them every year and they have basically become charity cases. I would take blackpool at anything above evens here even though Matt Phillips is probably out with a bad toe.

I've taken Crystal Palace(26/25) & Burnley(57/50) as a double, with Marathon. Both ought to be odds on chances, which they are with most bookies. Don't see either of these prices lasting too long tbh. As Ashford Gent has mentioned,Palace are on fire and Derby are no great shakes away. 10 wins from last 13( other 3 draws) is exceptional form,& not easy for us Brighton fans to stomach, lol ! Burnley are playing well under Sean Dyche, winning last 2(Leeds and Wolves) at Turf Moor, without conceding. Charlton have leaked goals of late, letting in 9 in last 3 games(albeit winning in two of them). I think Burnley with home advantage will have too much for them.

Re: Championship > 17/18 November Hello bobbyhead. what do you think of Brighton tomorrow. 3.00 Betfair seems a big price for huddersfield to me. Wayne Bridge is out i think. Huddersfield signed on loan Beckford and simon Church two good signings. Brighton have a bad record against Huddersfield and have not won against them in 9 games 5 losses and 4 draws home and away. Huddersfield are not spectacular but they often get the job done. I wouldnt say Brighton should be favourites here away from home.

Re: Championship > 17/18 November I'm usually staying away from favorites in this league, but this time I like the look of Palace and Leicester. No disrespect to Derby, but Palace are on great run, unbeaten in last 13 rounds and at evens (william hill) represent decent value. Ipswich recorded two wins since beginning of November, but table never lies and it says Leicester are twice better than Ipswich :) Seriously, Leicester are in need of win and could be under pressure to take 3 points against side third from bottom, but they simply much better team and at 1.57 blue square are worth small bet.

Obviously I'm not wishing it to happen, but being objective that's cracking odds tbh @ 2/1. A lot depends on whether Bridge & El-Abd play. Our defence had been rock solid til last weekend. Bridge has been excellent for us this season. When he went off injured last week at Wolves,we immediately lost our shape and went on to concede 3. We did however play very well at Molinuex, especially in the 2nd half & should have won comfortably but for missing a hatful of chances. Must add that our solitary win in the last 9 games v Posh was probably our worst display this season. We were dreadful and nicked it in injury time. Like I say, injury news is important. If neither Bridge or El-Abd play, that's a great price for Huddersfield. I would settle for a point here tbh. Tough game for us...

Re: Championship > 17/18 November 4pts Peterborough vs Blackburn - Over 2.5 goals 8/11 Betfred I think this game will have goals in it. Neither are what you would call anything like reliable at the back while both generally look dangerous going forward. Four of Palace’s last five have gone over 2.5 while Blackburn played out a 2-2 against Huddersfield recently so they aren’t adverse to playing in matches with over 2.5 goals. Peterborough play an aggressive attacking game which can be to their cost as much as to their benefit but it often leads to goals and I expect this to end with over 2.5 goals. Re: Championship > 17/18 November I would be extremely wary of your reasoning behind the overs on the Blackburn hame. The Huddersfield result is the only Rovers game to go over since the bend of september (9 games). Not saying it wont happen, but Peterborough games arent the goal bankers that they were last season.

Re: Championship > 17/18 November Bolton -1 (AH) v Barnsley @ 2.075 Bet365 (4 points) I don't normally like taking big handicaps in the championship but I think Bolton are worth a play. They have a good squad of players and were under performing but now Freedman has arrived, I think he will turn them around pretty swiftly. Barnsley are in terrible form and have lost their last 4 on the bounce, falling to score in the last 3. I'm really struggling to see past a Bolton win and I think there's a good chance they will put a few past the Tykes. As such I will be taking them -1 on the Asian.

Re: Championship > 17/18 November Peterborough v Blackburn -0.25 @ 2.00 Bet365 (5 points) I think Henning Berg is catching the Posh at a cracking time here and i am backing him to record his first victory as Blackburn boss today. Posh have lost their last 3 games in a row and they are heading back to their early season shocking form. Whatsmore, Ferguson has fallen out with Sinclair and Zakuani for breach of discipline. He has had to back down on the extent he wanted to take the punishment but he is still fuming. Zakuani is a big, big character at Peterborough and I don't know how all this will go down in the dressing room. It doesn't look too rosy though. Henning Berg was an odd appointment for Blackburn and I suspect a poor one. He has been given a top set of players for the championship though and away at one of the worst teams in the champ is a game they should be winning. The Blackburn defence is much improved since Kean left so they just need to start scoring goals. I think they will get them today and I really fancy Blackburn to take the 3 points.

Re: Championship > 17/18 November Nottm Forest v Sheff Wed @ 1.91 Bet365 (3 points) I some how keep finding myself backing Forest this season and again I'm backing them today. It's perhaps more of a play against Wednesday really as I just don't think they have the quality to match the best championship teams this season. I watched them against Boro last week and they just seem to be lacking that fluidity in their play. Forest have Cox out which is a blow but Sharp and Blackstock is a good enough forward line. I just think Forest are the much stronger team and with the home advantage they look a solid 10/11 shot against a team who have been struggling this season.

Re: Championship > 17/18 November Watford +0 (AH) v Wolves @ 1.72 VCbet (4 points) Two teams here in completely different form and I've got to back the home side here. Wolves haven't won in their last 6 games and they've lost the last 3 away matches on the bounce. They also have captain Karl Henry out suspended today. Zola is starting to do a very impressive job for Watford and I've been watching them closely for a while now. Whilst their big win away at Leeds last night was slihghtly skewed due to Leeds being down to 9 men, they were looking in control anyway. The Hornets are playing very well and are proving to be very tough opposition. Wolves are a decent side but are in poor form and the price on the home team looks too big in my opinion. I'm wary of the draw so will be taking the no bet cover there but if any side side is to win this match, you've got to fancy it to be Watford.

Re: Championship > 17/18 November going with watford +0 ahc also 1.75 pinny watford showing great recent form, have lost 3 in ten games also but 2 losses were when in control until gt players sent off. looking more organised from the back to attack and go up against wolves side no wins in last six where they have lost 3 away. you gotta expect a watford win a lot more then bookies suggest and have the ahc 0 line just in case of draw.

Re: Championship > 17/18 November 4pts Leeds (+0.5AH) to beat Millwall 1.97 BetVictor Backing sides who’ve just lost 6-1 last time out might not be the shrewdest move but that result will have hurt Warnock and his players so much that I expect a reaction here. Games between these two are always passionate and fiercely fought and I expect this to be no different. I think this will be quite tight and I wouldn’t be too surprised if both sides cancelled each other out so I’ll take Leeds on a +0.5 handicap in the knowledge Millwall have a couple of key players out. 3 out of 4 winners today in the championship. Again some good calls on this thread with plenty on Palace who cruised to victory.

Re: Championship > 17/18 November

Millwall v Leeds....have to say Millwall for the win over Leeds due to Leeds recent poor form but also Leeds players Workhorse Austin in midfield out with a suspected broken leg and central defender Pearce with a red card last week
I'm tempted by Millwall too...but going for Over 2.5 goals at 10/11 with William Hill, Leeds' defending has been woeful lately and Millwall's recent home games have gone 2-1, 4-0, 3-3, 2-1, 1-2 so it looks like a decent bet.

As a Leeds fan, that's a brave move. Our squad is pathetic, our tactics are pathetic and a lot of Leeds fans are getting impatient with the squad, performances and now Warnock. However, I think it'll be a draw, so your pick would be a winning one in that case. We are good at getting a point, although no more. I'll probably play safe and pick Millwall DNB. We will cause Millwall problems, but it'll probably be a tight affair with the odd goal in it, if any. No doubt there'll probably be a sending off too, as we do tend to make absolutely stupid challenges and it'll be a hostile atmosphere.

Re: Championship > 17/18 November Millwall v Leeds - Over 2.5 goals - 7/10 on bet365 I've not looked anywhere else. Both teams are often involved in games with over 2.5 goals and although it's hard to be to confident with this market I'm seeing this as the best bet of the game. It's a bit of a shock to see the price here for two sides with such attacking qualities and defensive frailties. I'm thinking the bet should have been around 1/2 or 4/7. Both side's games average 3.3 goals a game we're looking at a great chance of over 2.5 goals.Looking at the last 10 games - 7 have gone over 2.50 for a total of 34 goals at an average of 3.4 goal per game. Neither side hardly capable of keeping a clean sheet (4 in 36 matches for both sides) Maybe not lump on material but the stats are looking good.

Millwall miss their best scorer in Henderson. Leeds haven't been great in the last matches. Quite a high bet with these circumstances in my opinion.

Re: Championship > 17/18 November I dont think Leeds can do worse than they are doing in last couple of weeks, even with Pearce, Austin and Brown missing for this one. I dont think Brown's absence is big handicap, but first two are surely important players. Warnock will probably play Peltier at the centre back, which is not his natural position definitely, so Leeds will hardly sort out their defensive problems. But I cant imagine another Watford result in this one anyway. If McCormack can make his return, Leeds will be much more dangerous in attack, so I would expect them to score in this match. From what I saw so far, Millwall are capable of destroying anyone on their day, so even without Henderson they should be capable of scoring. Over 2.5 should be logical bet and 1.70 looks like ok price (1.76 at 188bet right now).

Re: Championship > 17/18 November Millwall -0.25 v Leeds @ 1.72 VCbet (3 points) Im a bit disappointed that the price has come in a lot on Millwall but I think they are still worth backing in some form. They do have Henderson and Henry out which is a blow but they still won without them last week and they have been in brilliant form. Leeds have the worse injury problems in my view. Rudolph Austin being out is a massive blow to them as he really was the engine in Leeds' midfield. A possible replacement in Michael Brown is also out. Another big blow is Pearce being out at centre half as he has done well this season and Leeds just don't have the squad to provide good enough cover at the moment. I am a bit wary of the draw because Warnock sides can really dig in when they need too. But I can't ignore the form Millwall are in and the players that Leeds have out. I will be taking 'wall on a -0.25 line o just a half stake loss in the event if the draw.
