I was waiting for more bookmakers to put their odds up before looking in depth as I don't think too many will go 2.5 on us. We've lost whatever confidence we had and our defence looks very shaky at the minute. Wouldn't personally touch us under maybe 2.85. Possibly even three. I think we are definite relegation candidates at the minute and are losing games in a poor fashion. Even where we have been so impressive at home in years gone by, we are now losing quite easily. I just don't think we're back able at all so it's a definite LAY of us. We are looking for a new striker, and we may see a new defender come in. And we may have our ownership issues sorted by KO but I'm not holding my breath.

Given that Pompey's defense is shaky I consider Leon Clark to score anytime.Great value at 2.60.That guy scored four goals in two games while the team scored five in total.Clarke is willing to prove his abilities until his loan expires.

Good point but he scored 4 goals in 4 matches not in 2.Pompey are struggling right now.As far as i know they haven't sign a new striker. They lack goals and i think this guy can score a few.Anyway this bet is not in my shortlist

Re: League 1 > 29 September Hi guys. Why do you think of Tranmere -0.5 odds:2.31 @ Pinnacle? I am really liking the odds. The reason(s) that makes me wanna bet on Tranmere is the following:

  • They are the first placed whilst Brentford is "only" the nine placed team.
  • Both teams are much better at home grass. Tranmere has won all 4 home games in the league so far while Brentford has no away victories, three X and one loss and lies in 18th place in the away table. The teams which Tranmere has defeated are around Brentfords position in the away table.
  • Both teams have faced Bury (last team in total table). Tranmere won easy at home grass with 3-0 whilst Brentford only managed to get 0-0 away at Bury.

Thats a couple of my reasons for betting on Tranmere. What do you guys think about the match?:)

Re: League 1 > 29 September Tranmere to beat Brentford 7/5 Willhill The bookies appear to be still underestimating Tranmere. They are still unbeaten and scoring goals for fun. Last week's 5-2 over a decent Crawley team highlighted that they are no flash in the pan. With a record of 4 out of 4 at home and 12 goals for and one against I would expect them to be odds on unless playing a decent team. Brentford however do not fall into this category. Their home form is decent enough but they havent won away yet. I would have been happy to take evens so 7/5 looks too tempting to resist.

Re: League 1 > 29 September 6pts Tranmere to beat Brentford @ 2.3 Bluesquare 2pts Tranmere-1 @ 4.5 Paddypower Have to take Tranmere here i think they are really overpriced in this game and should definitely be odds on for the win. They've had a great start to the season and are still unbeaten after 8 games, after last weeks 5-2 away win against Crawley i think the rest of the pack really started thinking maybe Tranmere could be in with a shout in the promotion race. They have already scored 12 goals in 4 home games this season and with Brentford yet to win an away game it's Tranmere that come in to this with all the confidence. Can see a 2 or 3 goal win for the home team here.

Re: League 1 > 29 September I think MK Dons beat Crewe. They are good at home, I checked their matchstats and I'm impressed. Witch Bowditch, Chadwick and Powell up front, they are really dangereus. The form of them is high, and I hope that it will uphold I think they are good combo material. GL

Re: League 1 > 29 September MKDons is like a public bet. I am however very tempt to take them for a double or a treble (with Valencia, and or Corinthians or Stoke, or again Verona in serie B ... i am now deciding and it is not easy you know!!), but they are promotion material and this time they cannot slip up.Let's hope that the 3 games in a week does not affect thei rperformance a lot, infact i see they have not make a big rotation on wednesday against sunderland. They will have a trip to a desperate Coventry next, so I think it is better to win games like this one first.I probably use them in one of my doubles and trebles.....

Re: League 1 > 29 September MK Dons Vs Crewe The price on Crewe looks far too big for me at Pinnacle. Granted, given their respective squads and home advantage you'd expect MK Dons to win this one most days of the week however I can see a few reasons why they might not. Crewe come into the game undefeated in their last 5 games, in fact they've only lost 2 this season (incidentially the same as MK Dons) so they're certainly no mugs. Crewe are one of these teams that can be underrated before a game but turn up and play you off the pitch with their attractive passing game. Crewe finished last season on a fantastic run of form to get promoted out of League 2 so two defeats this season doesn't strike me as a team that should be 20/3. Would the likes of Coventry and Bury be even bigger than 20/3 here today? I'm not so sure. Crewe can be found at just over evens on the Asian Handicap but I like the big odds for the win. Add to this the fatigue that MK Dons may have had from a tough midweek game against Sunderland and you've got yourself a chance of an upset today. Crewe to win @ 20/3 (Pinnacle) 1.5pts (5)

Re: League 1 > 29 September

Luis boa morte and akos buzsaky trained with Pompey today. Both are free agents and we have two free spaces left in our squad. No signings have been confirmed yet.
Buzz is an absolute quality player. As a qpr fan i was gutted that we didnt extend his contract, he will always get goals and can shoot from distance. Takes a good free kick too. Hope you get him.

Re: League 1 > 29 September Tranmere Vs Brentford Tranmere aren't the most fashionable of teams but they are top of League 1 on merit. Not only are they top, they are at the top in style. Home wins of 3-1, 4-0, 2-0, 3-0 have been followed up with away wins of 5-2 and 3-0. Ronnie Moore has certainly got something going at Prenton Park. And whilst they aren't the most fashionable, they traditionally have good home form. Given Tranmere's ability to brush teams aside at the moment, I see no reason why they can't do the same against a Brentford team that have a very average travelling record. 0-0 at Bury, 2-2 Walsall, 0-1 Leyton Orient, and 2-2 Bournemouth should hardly scare an inform Tranmere team so I struggle to see why I can get a Tranmere win at 25/19 with Pinnacle. Tranmere to win @ 25/19 (Pinnacle) 2.5pts (5)

Re: League 1 > 29 September Hey 1st time poster here Sheffield United vs. Notts County As a Sheffield United fan I'll give you a little heads-up on how I'm feeling about todays home fixture with Notts County. We beat them twice last season. 2 - 1 at home when County put in a great performance and were just slightly bettered due to some clinical finishing. The other was a 5 - 2 victory for the Blades at the County ground in late March of this year. The Blades were under great pressure for a win and fortunately this game was one of those where every shot seemed to go in. Either way, the scoreline didn't really reflect the passage of play as I wouldn't say we were dominant. Today, we have midfielders Doyle (captain) and Flynn back from suspension which is something all United fans have been relishing the prospect of. This season, at home we have only looked very good when we played Bournemouth - a game which we won 5 - 3. We really could have scored 7 or 8 this game and, after looking at the home-draws against Bury and Doncaster, it can be argued that we need Doyle's solidarity in the role of holding midfielder to allow our more creative players to flourish. Also, with Flynn back we have another goal threat. In the run out against Bournemouth he scored 2 goals. Having these players back is definitely a cause for optimism in the United camp. In League One, 3 of County's last 4 games have been 2.5 goals or over of which 2 of those have been over 3.5 goals. For this reason, I can see today being a good game of fast-flowing, attacking football and at least a few goals. Since Doyle and Flynn had been out, the Blades have had to shore up their defence and take the fewer chances in front of goal they were getting in order to pick up points. I think we will be looking to revert back to the style of play seen against Bournemouth a few games back what with these suspensions served. County fans, what with their good league position and ability to score goals, are optimistic about their chances today at Bramall Lane but I honestly think they will do well to come away with anything. It really is a different United side when we have a full set of options and a whole side to choose from. Some picks from me are: Sheffield United to win: Betfair 2.12 Over 2.5 goals: Betfair 1.81 Over 3.5 goals: Betfair 3.15 (Slightly risky, this one)
