Re: A/W Selection Friday 08/04/2005 Southwell 02:20 MUTTASEM @ 6/1 stake = 5 pts. EACH WAY Has won twice in Banded company over 7f at this course on last three starts and seems effective over this trip; however, penalty to carry in this stronger event and that may prove his undoing. ---------------------------------------------------------------- Lingfield 03:55 ATTORNEY stake = 5 pts. EACH WAY Struck a rich vein in lowly Banded/classified company on AW through winter; rarely beats the handicapper and, although confirmed current well-being with a recent third on turf, remains a touch high in ratings for this. ---------------------------------------------------------------- Lingfield 05:05 BISHOPS FINGER @ 10/1 stake = 5 pts. EACH WAY All wins on this surface and showed good turn of foot to win a C&D classified last time, but yet to take a handicap and more to do off this mark.

Re: A/W Selection Saturday 09/04/2005 Lingfield 02:30 PARTY BOSS @ 11/8 stake = 10 pts. WIN Gone from strength to strength with switch to AW this winter, completing five-timer in 7f Listed race here last month; should be well suited by return to farther, likely that there is more to come and track experience an advantage; 2,000 Guineas and Derby entry. ---------------------------------------------------------------- Lingfield 03:05 ACORAZADO @ 7/2 stake = 10 pts. WIN Last successful 14 months ago (over C&D) but done enough this winter to ensure he gets little slack from the handicapper, finding only progressive Sorbiesharry too good at Wolverhampton most recently; should not be far away again. ---------------------------------------------------------------- Lingfield 03:40 LYGETON LAD @ 8/1 stake = 5 pts. EACH WAY Far better round here than elsewhere and quite happy from the front (neither he nor stablemate Vortex would be suited by a steadily run race); back to best in a C&D handicap last time but a bit to do at these weights.

Re: A/W Selection Monday 11/04/2005 Southwell 02:30 BLUE POWER @ 9/1 stake = 5 pts. EACH WAY 3lb lower than when last successful (over C&D) last June but not been in the same form since the summer and was beaten by lower-rated rivals in first-time visor in seller last week. ---------------------------------------------------------------- Southwell 03:30 WOODWEE @ 5/2 stake = 10 pts. WIN

Edge on Frogmill Prince at these weights judged on Musselburgh running and stepped up on that form by running Musselburgh second Soto close over C&D last week; will probably need to improve again to get his head in front. ---------------------------------------------------------------- Lingfield 03:40 ARRY DASH @ 7/1 stake = 5 pts. EACH WAY Decent effort on debut for new yard at Yarmouth last week but has become something of an underachiever and although he caught the eye of the stewards on last visit here (banned for 40 days) he may find this tougher than he cares for tackling 1m4f for first time. ---------------------------------------------------------------- Lingfield 04:10 GUILDENSTERN @ 7/2 stake = 10 pts. WIN Improved display in tongue tie to defy top weight at main expense of Bold Cheverak at Folkestone last week; won with a little in hand but may struggle to confirm superiority over runner-up given 6lb turnaround and wide draw; AW debut. ---------------------------------------------------------------- Southwell 04:30 SIRAJ @ 7/1 stake = 5 pts. EACH WAY All career wins have come at 6f but went down by the narrowest margin at Folkestone last time and clearly on good terms with himself at present; 3lb rise for that defeat makes life tougher here though. ---------------------------------------------------------------- Southwell 05:00 SPEEDIE ROSINI @ 6/1 stake = 5 pts. EACH WAY Unsurprisingly fared better for the switch to low-grade handicaps and although a beaten favourite on his last three starts, hasn´t done a great deal wrong; 6f shouldn´t be a problem and Martin Dwyer has a good record for the stable, so has to be on the shortlist despite wider draw than ideal. ---------------------------------------------------------------- Southwell 05:30 LIGNE D'EAU @ 7/1 stake = 5 pts. EACH WAY Not beaten far at Lingfield on Friday and generally creditable series of efforts this winter; no problem with trip or ground and place prospects at least.

Re: A/W Selection Thursday 21/04/2005 Southwell 07:45 GOOSE CHASE @ 10/11 stake = 10 pts. WIN Related to plenty of useful performers and no surprise to see him leave his maiden form behind once handicapped, making all from an awful draw at Nottingham at the weekend; has to prove he handles this surface but excellent claims of following up if he does.

Re: A/W Selection Friday 22/04/2005 Wolverhampton 03:20 ZHITOMIR @ 9/4 stake = 10 pts. WIN Did well here at end of last year and made promising return from a break when second at Thirsk last week (well backed); same mark this afternoon and has to be high on the shortlist. --------------------------------------------------------------- Wolverhampton 04:25 WEMBURY POINT @ 8/1 stake = 5 pts. EACH WAY Creditable efforts on the whole in 2005 and is at least going the right way; something to find with Fly To Dubai on Lingfield running though and minor placing may be his best hope. --------------------------------------------------------------- Wolverhampton 04:55 RARE COINCIDENCE @ 9/2 stake = 10 pts. WIN Good runs not guaranteed from him but two of last three have been right up to scratch, winning in clear-cut style over extended 1m1f here last Saturday; penalty to shoulder but has to be considered.

Re: A/W Selection Monday 25/04/2005 Wolverhampton 05:00 BAYLAW STAR @ 5/2 stake = 10 pts. WIN Ran away with modest 7f soft-ground handicap off career-low mark at Beverley last week when given astute ride from front; creditable third over that trip here in November suggests he can be competitive under penalty but the slight reservation would be this trip, given below-par shows at 1m; could still be the answer. --------------------------------------------------------------- Southwell 05:50 JOHNNY ALLJAYS @ 11/4 stake = 10 pts. WIN Much improved since given the chance to exploit stamina for present yard and commands respect on the strength of back-to-back victories last month (including this C&D); continues in good heart and no reason he should not make presence felt again. --------------------------------------------------------------- Southwell 06:20 PERCY DOUGLAS @ 7/2 stake = 10 pts. WIN Excelled himself from miles out of the weights when chasing home an easy winner of a competitive handicap at Ripon on Saturday but limitations exposed at this level over this C&D previously so not one to get carried away with. --------------------------------------------------------------- Southwell 07:20 TINY TIM @ 9/2 stake = 10 pts. WIN Deserves a medal for his consistency in these events since the turn of the year (including over this C&D); looks sure to give his usual honest account but no surprise if he found one or two too good once more. --------------------------------------------------------------- Southwell 07:50 HARRY THE HOOVER @ 10/1 stake = 5 pts. EACH WAY In the front rank throughout when runner-up in a similar contest over 7f at Wolverhampton recently (Jalouhar behind in fourth); looks pacy enough for sprinting so possibilities if handling this slower surface.

Re: A/W Selection Tuesday 26/04/2005 Southwell 02:20 LEGAL SET @ 11/4 stake = 10 pts. WIN Tough veteran who is equally at home on any surface; gutsy display when resuming winning ways for today´s pilot back on turf last week and entitled to make presence felt off a 5lb lower mark. -------------------------------------------------------------- Southwell 02:50 MANIATIS @ 9/4 stake = 10 pts. WIN C&D winner; long way from his glory days but boasts a good strike rate since competing at this lower level; first success for current yard when justifying favouritism in a Wolverhampton seller last week and consistency should ensure he is on the premises again -------------------------------------------------------------- Southwell 03:50 SONTAG BLUE @ 3/1 stake = 10 pts. WIN

Appreciated the drop in class when getting off the mark in a similar event over 8.5f at Wolverhampton in December and respectable effort on return from a break last week; equally effective on this surface, so entitled to be thereabouts.

Re: A/W Selection Wednesday 27/04/2005 Lingfield 03:10 MILLENIUM FORCE @ 4/1 stake = 10 pts. WIN Smart performer around this trip at his best; conditions not ideal either start since return from Dubai and concern that he would not want this to be tactical but pick of his form gives him every chance on today´s terms. ---------------------------------------------------------- Lingfield 05:10 SAMSON QUEST @ 10/1 stake = 5 pts. EACH WAY Showed he handles this surface on debut and will appreciate return to this trip after chasing home easy winner over 5f at Bath last week on handicap debut but does need to improve.

Re: A/W Selection Thursday 28/04/2005 Southwell 03:30 BIRD OVER @ 9/4 stake = 10 pts. WIN Comfortable winner of both her starts at Wolverhampton (7f) and plenty to like about her success there on Monday; penalty will make life tougher and does have to prove herself on fibresand but remains open to plenty of improvement after just three starts; respected. --------------------------------------------------------------- Southwell 04:00 FEAST OF ROMANCE @ 5/2 stake = 10 pts. WIN Had a good time of things already in 2005 and conditions look right for another big run; talented apprentice takes off a valuable 7lb and should be involved at the finish. --------------------------------------------------------------- Southwell 04:30 CHATSHOW @ 11/4 stake = 10 pts. WIN Has gone from strength to strength for Tony Carroll this year and turned in another personal best when scoring at Brighton on Sunday; C&D record reads 1421, Frankie takes the ride and decent chance of defying his penalty. --------------------------------------------------------------- Southwell 05:00 DANS HEIR @ 7/4 stake = 10 pts. WIN Best effort to date when upped to this trip last time and although he has to prove he handles this surface, his trainer´s record here with this type commands respect; Frankie replaces a 7lb claimer and should go well; cheekpieces back on here. --------------------------------------------------------------- Lingfield 05:35 COURT ALLIANCE @ 6/1 stake = 5 pts. EACH WAY Hold-up campaigner who snatched a last-gasp win in more competitive Newbury handicap in 2003; missed last year (implying problems) but stays this trip and beyond, so it was pleasing to see him run such a big race over shorter on Tuesday; strong claims iftaking to AW. --------------------------------------------------------------- Lingfield 08:05 BAYTOWN FLYER @ 10/1 stake = 5 pts. EACH WAY Fairly consistent sort searching for fifth AW win (fourth on this surface); went close in similar event when last running over C&D and again performed well on slow turf surface on Monday; possibilities.
