Re: Northern Ireland > Carling Premiership > 2012/13

Glentoran already won 3:0 Lisburn at home this season. After all Lisburn's worst home team in the league an Glentoran was very successful there recently (5:0, 2:0, 6:1, 4:0, 3:0). Away win is very probable again, isn't?
another easy win, 2:0 :ok

Re: Northern Ireland > Carling Premiership > 2012/13 Donegal Celtic-Crusaders; Over 4 goals-Alternative goal market. B365 @ 3.4 Donegal Celtic have improved of late, but I fear that their defence is still somewhat vunerable to a good attacking side. Crusaders fit that bill, having put three past league leaders Cliftonville recently. My hunch is that this will turn into a bit of a shootout. I think that DC will score at least one goal in this game, they are certainly not shy at coming forward. For the faint hearted, look at over 3 goals at approx evens as a cover bet. GL

Re: Northern Ireland > Carling Premiership > 2012/13 Agree with Jackie above that Crusaders should have too much for DC, Crusaders are a top team here while DC normally frequent the bottom few places. One team I have a good feeling about is Ballinamallard away to Glenavon. Watched Glenavon last week and although they nearly won but ended up drawing they just don't look a good team, the pace of the Mallards will trouble a slow Glenavon defence and with odds of 7/5 with paddypower they seem a good shout

Re: Northern Ireland > Carling Premiership > 2012/13 Not much value in tonights match between Cliftonville and Distillery, Cliftonville should win quite easily but you are looking the Reds to win by 4 clear goals or more at 11/4 - not worth it for me. With the Reds a cert to win with plenty of pressure from the home team I am going to go for the William Hill match treble - Cliftonville to win, more than 12 corners and more than 6 cards @ 22/1 I feel the first 2 options of the treble will happen ok and hopefully the ref will want to show off since he is on tv and brandish the cards freely!!

Re: Northern Ireland > Carling Premiership > 2012/13 [h=1]Glentoran squad refuse to train over unpaid wages[/h] Glentoran players refused to train on Tuesday night because they have not been paid their wages. The East Belfast club has run into cash flow problems on a few occasions in recent seasons and it is believed that in this instance players have not received their money for two months. Club officials have declined to comment but it is understood that the coaching staff support the players' stance. It remains unclear whether Thursday night's training session will go ahead. The Glens are scheduled to play Ballinamallard United in the Premiership this weekend. It was reported two weeks ago that Glentoran players were seeking assurances from the Oval Board after failing to receive their October wages. It is understood that a letter was sent to to Glentoran officials at that stage, in which the first-team squad said they expected their contracts to be honoured. The squad were seeking a commitment that wages will be paid and that if the problem persists, they would have the right to be released from their contracts. It is also understood that club sponsor McLean Bookmakers is considering providing a cash injection to the Glens in advance of future payments. The club has been plagued by financial difficulties in recent years. In February 2010, a £450,000 donation from a mystery benefactor helped prevent the club from being wound up. The club also received a £60,000 loan from the Irish FA in May after they struggled to pay their players' wages for April. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football

Re: Northern Ireland > Carling Premiership > 2012/13 Certainly value with Ballinamallard this week for obvious reasons. Linfield are starting to pick up abit, i've been talking to a few of their players they seem to be gaining a bit of confidence too. Linfield HT/FT would be my tip for this game.

Re: Northern Ireland > Carling Premiership > 2012/13 [h=1]Colin Nixon says Glens squad 'had to make a stand' over wages[/h] Glentoran player Colin Nixon has said that the squad was left with "no option" but to boycott training after not being paid wages for eight weeks. The Glens squad, apparently with the support of the management, did not train on Tuesday evening. This policy will continue until the players get firm indications that they are to receive their wages. "Some players are struggling to get to training money wise. We had to make some sort of stand," said Nixon. Glentoran have been embroiled in financial difficulties for a number of years and there have been previous instances when wages were not paid on time. However, with the latest wage crisis dragging on for two months, Nixon said that the squad could not stand idly by. Continue reading the main story

“In my heart of hearts, I would envisage all players being paid before Christmas and the club hopefully getting back on its feet”

Glentoran player Colin Nixon "It's a very stressful time for everyone at the club and the players want to see Glentoran getting on an even footing as soon as possible. "No player won't be available for matches and we'll all keep ourselves in good nick for matches. "We understand that preparation might be affected but in saying that, we have to make some sort of stand and a majority voted and we all agreed on this course of action. "No training will take place until money is given or promised or seen." Veteran player Nixon has been acting at as a go-between during the crisis between the club chairman Terence Brannigan and the squad. Nixon added that the club chairman and his directors "have been working hard to sort things out" but as yet there is no resolution. The Glentoran defender called on the club's fans to continue to support the club during the current crisis. "We actively encourage the fans to come out in their droves on Saturday as we know they do in times of crisis. "It's a fantastic club and it's a privilege to play for it and we respect everybody involved in it. But unfortunately at this stage, it's down to simple economics." Talks were understood to be continuing on Thursday afternoon and despite the current crisis, Nixon said that he expects matters to be sorted out before the festive period. "In my heart of hearts, I would envisage all players being paid before Christmas and the club hopefully getting back on its feet." This is the latest from BBC NI on the saga.

Re: Northern Ireland > Carling Premiership > 2012/13 Portadown-Cliftonville; Cliftonville 6/5 b 365 Theres no better way to get an idea of how good a team is than watching them perform. After viewing Monday nights live game against Distillery, a clearer picture of the league leaders was evident. Cliftonville appeared somewhat arrogant in the first half and should have been made to pay by a Distilley side that had raised their game in order to ward off any potenial embarassment in front of sattelite veiwers in various parts of the globe. However Tim Mc Cann's side's failure to "sieze the day" was to prove costly, and in the second half, the Red's players, sobbered by their boss at half time, put the whites to the sword. What I seen from Cliftonville in the second half of Monday nights game suggested that they are a very strong side. They have a couple of very good individuals in Boyce and Gormley and a manager that can bring them down to earth when they get a bit cocky. Portadown are no better that average in the Irish league at present and their recent results reflect that. If Cliftonville play to their strenghts and more importantly, keep their discipline, I belive they are a good bet. For the more "heads above the parapet" punters; Cliftonville -1 AH @ 3.1 b 365, Now thats massive!! GL And finally;Glad to see that Mc Nasra's hard work is bearing fruit, with a marked increase in the contributions to this thread.

Re: Northern Ireland > Carling Premiership > 2012/13 Portadown will present more of a threat than did the insipid Whites the other night Rubber. Looking at the last five fixtures at Fort Shamrock, there have been a lot of goals - I think the average is around 4.5 per game. I see the Reds winning but conceding maybe 3-2. 365 are pricing over 4 on the ah @ 3.35. Good luck to the Reds today anyway, their performance last Monday (2nd half particularly) was a great advertisement for Irish soccer.

Re: Northern Ireland > Carling Premiership > 2012/13 Crusaders-Linfield; Crusaders 9/5 b365 Fairly basic view on this. I think Crusaders are a better team than linfield at present and they are certainly more comfortable that most visitors on their synthetic playing surface. Crusaders KO'd linfield in the semi-finalof the league cup just over a week ago and they know that they have to maintain that form in their pursuit of Cliftonville. linfield have failed to ingnite this season and have struggled against the poorest of sides. Their manager not only resembles a Zepplin, but he pumps a lot of hot air in his efforts to paper over the cracks in a side that has little confidence. Crues for me. Anyone braver take them -1AH at lots! Info note; All IPL games have fall foul of the weather apart from the one above.

Re: Northern Ireland > Carling Premiership > 2012/13 Derby Day all around tomorrow in the Irish League, biggest game will be at Cliftonville where they take on Crusaders - 1st v 2nd. I watched Crusaders play Linfield on Saturday and they were poor, very lucky to get a last minute equaliser. Linfield aren't the best this season but really should of won that game. Cliftonville also had a rest with their game being cancelled and will be far fresher going into tomorrows game. So my choice is Cliftonville at evens with will hill Other potential winners could be Coleraine & Ballinamallard while Glenavon are in good form and look interesting at 12/5

Re: Northern Ireland > Carling Premiership > 2012/13 Irish fellows it seems that Glentoran and Cliftonville will achieve big wins this weekend.Cliftonville defeated their rivals during the midweek and if they don't win against Dungannon their Linfield's defeat will be for nothing.Glentoran should win comfortably too but i will wait for you to respond Thank you [h=3][/h]
