Shove
Hi guys, newbie poster here but long-time reader of the forum. Felt I had to join up - if only to tell you about this bet! Tomorrow sees the start of the play-offs in the Scottish lower leagues and I reckon there's some amazing value to be had on Ayr United who visit Airdrie in the first leg of their tie. I can't get away from backing Ayr here. They are play-off specialists and have an incredible record in the shootout stage of the season. In total, they've played eight play-off games since the system came into being and are unbeaten during that time. More than that, they've won all four of their away games in that time and a large part of that is due to the size of support they carry to those games. Tomorrow night will be more like a home game for Ayr as they will take anything upwards of 1000 fans, whereas the home side will struggle to muster half of that. It was a similar story a few years back when Ayr won promotion through the play-offs at this same venue against Airdrie. Ayr are now a First Division side, compared with Airdrie who finished in 4th place in the Second Division. The gap between the teams really should be large and, coupled with Ayr's outstanding play-off record and massive advantage from the stands, I think they're a standout selection. Best price 7/5 with Paddy Power. Get on.

Dont really jump into the scottish leagues if I can help it.... but I may get involved in this one.
Shove
Re: Standout play-off bet Yeah mate, return leg at Ayr on Saturday. I watch Ayr home and away every week and this is by far the strongest team we've fielded during play-off campaigns. Can't stress enough how big a difference the fans make at this stage as well. Tomorrow really will be like a home game for Ayr and the players seem to relish the bigger occasion (as shown by two great cup runs this year when beating numerous SPL sides). maliniok
Re: Standout play-off bet Took your bet mate but thankfully on DNB so got the stake back. I would be grateful for a brief match report and how you see the chances in the second leg.
Shove
Re: Standout play-off bet Ayr had a nightmare. Probably their worst performance of the season and how they didn't lose by 3 or 4 was a mystery. The very fact they got out unscathed with a goalless draw probably says a lot about where this tie is destined to head now...the script is written etc etc. Ayr have a pretty strong home record and they've got to be fancied tomorrow (regardless of the other night's shocker). Gate prices have also been slashed so it should be a bumper crowd and a good atmosphere. Surprised to see us priced up as big as Evs with Paddy Power. It's purely a play-off price because if this were a cup game, for example, we'd be odds on at home to a team from the division below. And as I said, we're unbeaten in play-offs (that's 9 games now), so it does seem a big price.
Kumanovac
Re: Standout play-off bet I thought to play a HW @1,9 according to your and one other man's sayings, but reading now that they could have lost heavily, I am hesitating.
