  1. Re: League 2 > 28/29 September Fleetwood - Barnet - Fleetwood to win to nil @2.5 with Sky I am jumping on the anti-Barnet bandwagon here as I really think that Highbury will be a tough place for them to get their first away goal or a point of the season. Their new signing, Collins, apparently lacks match fitness so if Fleetwood are concentrated enough they should continue their fantastic start to the season.
  2. Re: Npower Football League One > 13th / 15th September Preston - Crawley 1 @ 2.25 with Sky. Preston were among my favourites for promotion and after their slow start they look like they have now hit good form. Two consecutive wins in the league + some good cup results can only produce extra confidence in the side and this is how Westley's sides operate - confidence, self-belief and hard work - Attitude Is More Important Than Ability. Not that Preston lacks the latter - with players like Wroe in midfield, Candsley Sherrif in defence, pacey Monakana upfront Preston looked like they lacked one thing - a proven goalscorer - and then Stuart Beavon arrived. They're a complete team and I definitely can see them climbing up the table. Crawley have had a good beginning but probably the Swindon match showed that they will struggle against top teams. They have two suspensions - Josh Simpson and Hope Akpan and one injury - Sergio Torres with Claude Davis waiting to be assessed before the game.
  3. Re: League 1 > 21st August 3-0 bet won! Looking forward to those highlights on the BBC website! :)
  4. Re: League 1 > 21st August I watched the Brighton game on telly and didn't see any bad atmosphere at all. Yes, I heard about Caddis' case and although it does seem harsh, they're supposed to be professional football players not a social club. I'm sure Di Canio will get the team to do the business rather than weep because someone was stripped of an armband. And by the way the price is now above evens I wish I had waited a little bit longer although I'm still considering adding a small stake to back Swindon to win to nil.
  5. Re: League 1 > 21st August Swindon - Crawley - 1 @ 1.95 with WH. Crawley started their L1 life with beating Scunthorpe at home 3-0 but the impression here is that this result does Scunthorpe injustice. They created quite a lot of chances and their manager was unhappy with their poor conversion. Crawley's manalwas furious at his team that they allowed Scunthorpe too much. Swindon at home play very well and their style of play with strong foundations at the back in Wes Foderingham and strong defence allows them time to create chances. Their conversion should also be much better than Scunthorpe's and especially after their 0-0 draw in the first match they will be determined to get those 3 points at County ground.
  6. Re: Antepost > League 1 > 2012-13 Jase, any idea what sort of players you will play on Tuesday and Saturday?
  7. Re: England > Weekend > BlueSQ Bet Prem Aug 11 Thanks Barton Bank - that's entertaining. Woking defence looked very weak - it looked like it could have been 5 or 6 for Wrexham - penalty for handball and missing an open goal from a yard.. By the way, does anybody know if the new BBc NonLeague Show on Radio 5 will be available via podcast at the same address as the old one? 5 am on Sunday is not my time to get up! :D
  8. Re: England > Weekend > BlueSQ Bet Prem Aug 11 No luck for me either - typical Luton - they keep clean sheets when it doesn't matter and don't when it does.
  9. Re: England > Championship > Weekend 17-18 August Bellamy joins Cardiff. Now, this is a signing that may give them an edge!
  10. Re: Antepost > Championship > 2012-13 You're counting your chickens too early mate! The season hasn't even started.
  11. Re: England > Antepost > BlueSQ Bet Prem 2012/13 Luton 1 Leyton 0 - no, I didn't make it up the M1 to the game but I think that another clean sheet against a higher division side is a remarkable achievement. Did you see the game Kevshat? If so, could you share your thoughts?
  12. Re: Antepost > Championship > 2012-13 Arterrier - I had a bet on you to win po final last season and I think Huddersfield are a bit underrated again so I fancy playing Hudds but on a matchday market. Again, looking at the first fixture of the season I think that cardiff are slightly overrated so will consider backing Terriers in some way. Could you give us some insight on the way you've been playing at friendlies? I thought your biggest weakness last season was 1) defense 2) giving away goals too easily especially when leading (Leyton at home, Franchise in the PO semis to give just two examples). Do you think Grayson has managed to improve in these areas? And also is rhodes staying with you?
  13. Re: England > Weekend > BlueSQ Bet Prem Aug 11 Following from discussions in the antepost thread today (thanks Shipps, Kevshat and Addpea) I am wondering whether there is value to be had in Luton to beat Gateshead to nil. Luton have a solid defense and a great goalkeeper in Tyler and apparently they have improved under Buckle in terms of organisation. What is very important, though, is that they signed Gateshead's top goalscorer Jon Shaw, leaving them with midfielder Cummins (12 goals last season), and strikers Hatch (4 goals since he joined from Darlo in January) and new signing from Hartlepools, James Brown. Brown scored just one goal last season and was released by his club so he is a bit of an enigma at this level. Luton to win to nil currently at 2.6 (8/5 for you Brits;) ) with 365 so I will probably wait to see if other firms put a more tempting price on this market.
  14. Re: Antepost > League 1 > 2012-13 They do sound like decent players and if Pompey manage to get them it will be a question of how they adjust in L1. McLeod was obviously L2 top scorer (or among the top scorers) and playing for relegation threatened Barnet it is some achievement. Djilali was at Wimbledon and spent a few months injured but showed lots of promise when played. A pacy winger who is not afraid of the ball and can cross well. There were concerns about his attitude - he once played at a minot London Senior Cup game and apparently got a strop and started mouthing off at our manager, Terry Brown. That's what ended his career at Wimbledon.
