Re: Weekend > SPL > March 17/18 One taken, and one maybe... MOTHERWELL v ABERDEEN - MOTHERWELL (-0.25AH) @ 1.885 with Pinnacle (5pts) Fancy Well to turn the tables on the Dons here after last week's Scottish Cup defeat. Even Craig Brown said his side were lucky to get through despite playing against 10 men for more than half an hour and being 2-0 up when Keith Lasley got his marching orders. Earlier, Aberdeen had scored from a corner that never was, which led to Stuart McCall being sent to the stand. Think a real sense of injustice could pull Well through here. Aberdeen retain slim hopes of a top 6 finish, in reality their focus is on the cup, while Well sniff a Champions League place with Rangers unlikely to meet UEFA finance rules by end of the month. All in all, just think after what happened last Sunday, Well will want this one more. Got to add, I'm tempted to back Rangers tomorrow. Interested to hear others' thoughts there. For all that's gone down at Ibrox, nobody was forced out (and no behind scenes staff lost their jobs), the only players who left went voluntarily and weren't regular starters anyway. Fact the rest of the squad took paycuts of up to 75% could be a real uniting factor. Not often you'll get Rangers DNB at 1.80. United are generally looking strong - they battered Celtic for 45 mins last weekend - but it's such a big price on Rangers, they're almost worth taking for that reason alone. Any thoughts?

Re: Weekend > SPL > March 17/18 I never bet on my own teams match but i must say I really fancy the odds on Aberdeen this week Motherwell will be without both centre halves due to suspension and Keith lasley is suspended once again after his red card. Stephen Craigan is hopefully going to be fit for the game to play alongside Jonathon Page in the centre of the defence. He however is struggling with an achilles injury which stopped him being on the bench for the cup tie last week. If he doesn't make the game it is likely one of our under 19's will have to play as we have an extremely small squad and will be stretched to the bare bones. I feel 11/4 Coral on an away aberdeen win is excellent value and I would bite your hand off for a point right now. Rangers are also missing a significant number of defenders through suspension and injury (6 in total I Think) which means there are likely to be goals in the game at tannadice tomorrow. Rangers last away match resulted in a 4-1 win at bottom club dunfermline But United are totally different kettle of fish . I see goals in this and will be putting a small stake on over 3.5 at 7/4 on stan james In the other Saturday match I suspect a further score draw between the Draw specialists St Mirren and St Johnstone who have only lost twice away all season Prediction Draw 23/10 Sportingbet. I hope to have time to write up the Edinburgh derby and League Cup final tomorrow

Re: Weekend > SPL > March 17/18 I take your point Lennox about the pay-cuts possibly uniting the players/fans, however they have Bocanegra, Goian, Bartley & Papac out and I don't think I could back them on the basis of a siege mentality. Its a slightly different now aswell in that for the last month you were able to get Dundee Utd @ 7/1 to win at Ibrox, Kilmarnock @8/1, Hearts at 11/2, two of which I backed and many more did but now your getting best price 9/5 on Dundee Utd. Rangers have also been better away recently winning at Dunfermline and ICT but neither of these sides is as good as Dundee Utd. Looking at the potential XI for them tomorrow it looks very weak aswell with only really Healy/Little the recognised strikers with McCulloch likely to drop back to centre half then I couldn't back them. Not sure how Dundee Utd will react to being expected to pick something up tomorrow but I'd still rather be on Dundee United at 9/5. United competed well against Celtic last week and the sending off changed the game, if they are as up for it as last week they have a great chance.

Re: Weekend > SPL > March 17/18 Absolutely delighted I was wrong about Aberdeen today :D Close But no cigar at Tannadice although both teams had 30 mins to score the 4th goal of the game :cry Miles out at St Mirren but they obviously had one eye on their cup replay against Hearts on Tuesday Hopefully better luck tomorrow

Re: Weekend > SPL > March 17/18 Todays Edinburgh derby is an intriguing fixture today. Hearts have the upper hand in this fixture over the last few seasons but i think there is a strong case for siding with the visitors today. Hearts will be missing their captain Zaluikas which will give them a problem at centre half where Leigh Griffiths and Gary O'conner on their day can be up there with the best the SPL has to offer. The problem is their day does not come around too often due to both players rather suspect mentality. However if you cannot turn it on for the capital derby then you should not be playing at this level . Hibs will be without Ivan Sproule and Isaiah Osbourne but the return of Tom Soares will negate this somewhat. Soares scored twice at Kilmarnock in Hibs last away game in which they won 3-1 and I feel he can be key today as he was missed in the 0-0 draw at home to St Mirren last week I also feel Hearts will have one eye on their cup quarter final replay on Wednesday and with the top 6 bottom 6 split already virtually decided Hibs need for points is much greater. They seem significantly overpriced in my eyes and would recommend Hibs to win 7/2 Stan James 3 units Double chance Draw or Hibs 19/20 Stan James 6 units
