BBOTD 6th of October

Recommended Posts

Only You Maggie - Ayr 4:10 Proven over the trip (1m 2f), ran really well at Newbury three starts ago when 2nd to Gallego, trading at 1.20 in running. Only 1 pound higher than that run. Ran ok at Bath last time out and has been dropped 3 pounds as a result. Only win came at Ffos Las but over this trip and if handling the soft conditions should have a big chance as is on a very nice mark and Matthew Lawson takes off a further 5 pounds. 12/1 i feel will not last. WIN @ 12/1 Hills BOG

Re: BBOTD 6th of October 17:10 Ayr Botham Win (3,75) William Hill The 4 year old Botham are racing to secure his hattrick. He have done well lately whit wins at Hamilton. They where both under simular distance and going. This race will properly be more tough the last time but he´s whitout a penalty for the win, so that might be a helping hand. Botham latest form. 0-3-4-1-1 The jockey Tudhope have shown poorly form lately but he was on board, in Bothams latest win.

Re: BBOTD 6th of October 17:10 Ayr KOOL SHUFFLEis bred to enjoy the step up in trip being a half-brother to a winner at this trip in Germany and also bred to handle softer ground, as his sire progeny do better with cut and his dam placed on soft too. He comes from a yard in flying form off the back of a success in the Cambridgeshire and runs off a mark of 53, a rating he could be a fair bit better than that in time. Sounds like maximum bet stuff but he hasn't really shown a great deal recently, although his last two efforts in maiden company over a mile suggested that a race like this would be within reach. He doesn't look the speediest even though he's been ran up with the pace on occasions and I think if he's dropped out off a decent gallop (which his draw suggests might be the best course of action) then he could be seen in a better light. He does have to bounce back from a poor run on handicap debut at Doncaster in August over 7f but I'm not sure the ground that day was to his liking as he did keep changing his legs and the trip was perhaps on the sharp side. Another factor perhaps was that Tom Tate wasn't in very good form at all at that point, which is in a big contrast to his current form (3/4 in last two weeks) and this one's worth chancing at a big price, as he is bred to go well today. Whether he will or not, we will wait and see but he's 25/1 and there's been a little bit of market support, which is encouraging. KOOL SHUFFLE; EW @ 25/1 Ladbrokes (bog)

Re: BBOTD 6th of October 4:00 Worcester - Argaum - Back Really likeable type who had had some near misses until he won 3 starts ago. He the followed that victory up with a good second, but most notably, he got back to winning ways lto. He beat a fine dirt at this level lto, and he has a huge chance of following up here. He's ultra game from the front and he should take alot of beating here 1pt win @ 8/11 Hills BOG

Re: BBOTD 6th of October 2:40 Ayr - Act Your Shoe Size - 1pt @ 8/1 (Bet365) Decent little Nursery here but Act Your Shoe Size is taken to give Keith Dalgleish and Joe Fanning yet another winner. The pair have a cracking record of 9 winners from 22 runners and they look to have a lively chance here again. This juvenile filly takes a drop in grade having been eased 2lbs in the ratings after a more than decent C&D 4th in a tougher contest last time out (faded after trying to run down solid pace) and with today's ground being even more suitable, she's capable of running much better. There doesn't seem to be any standout opposition and I thought she'd be much shorter than 8/1. Medium sized win bet for me and hopefully she'll go well.

Re: BBOTD 6th of October 2.50 Exeter No Woman No Cry win @ 8/1 Bet 365 Has done most of his racing at Newton Abbott this season and has managed to win 2 handicas there. Was held on his last run and looked as though the handicapper had caught up with him but a change of head gear could well work the oracle here today.

Re: BBOTD 6th of October Worcester 4.30 Just The Job win - 12/1 SJ Trainer coming to form and this horse could go well on chasing debut. Did well last season over hurdles. No show lto, but that was after his summer break and trainer was in awful form. In a weak race, I think he's overpriced and fav won a very weak contest 3 days ago, so worth taking on at those odds.

Re: BBOTD 6th of October A2.40 Stormy Whatever 0.5pt E/W 11/1 BlueSq I whittled this down to a choice of this one or First Phase quite a while ago but whilst I've been deliberating, the 14/1 has gone ! The selection beat the favourite today quite readily in a previous race and is obviously worse off today, but the manner of that win suggests that it can still win off this mark, the key being the ground. It can get really soft up at Ayr and many horse won't perform on it, but SW certainly will. The trainers runner have also been performing better of late.

Re: BBOTD 6th of October VICPOL 2.00 Worcester. 0.5 points each way. Disappointing recently, but better than showing and the blinkers go on today. Trip and ground not a concern and the small field could suit better. Not the strongest of races and every chance if the blinkers work. 13/2 Bet365 BOG

Re: BBOTD 6th of October 2:30 Worcester: Brough Academy 1pt win 4/1 Boylesports Sticking with the first run for Lawney Hill theme, although not sucessful yesterday, it could pay dividends today with Brough Academy. Bumper form is hard to weigh up and and often dosen't translate to hurdles. However, Brough Academy has shaped well on all three appearences and although he has only been with Mrs Hill a short while she may not need to bring about too much improvement in her new charge for him to get involved here.

Re: BBOTD 6th of October Abbi Jicaro 2.20 Exeter. 0.5 points each way. No chance on recent form, but showed promise early in career and has now found himself at Alison Thorpe's yard. She's more than capable of bringing a horse back to its best and even finding improvement, so with the trip and ground not a problem and there being just a few principals, the odds are there to warrant the risk. 33/1 Boylesports (bog)

Re: BBOTD 6th of October K.Fallon takes back over the ride and won on him back on the 19th of Aug. Trainer M.Bradley only sends out the 2 runners and Falon gets the leg up on this fellow, he was 3rd last time out at Chepstow but was given a wee break ''28'' days, sharp shows might be a wee danger but its not much of a race, the pick should be pretty good value for money. Wolverhampton 6:50pm - Colourbearer 1pt win at 4/1 most firms Coral & Tote etc etc

Non Runner BH... Ayr abandoned... Standpoint - Wolverhampton 8:20 Only 1 win to his name thus far but i think has a decent shout today. First runon the AW since March here at Wolverhampton and it went close that day off 1 pound lower, 3rd to Avonrose only losing out by a head. Can be a frustrating horse but is regularly placed and it is long overdue another win. Hollinshead had a winner earlier in the week and that was his last runner at Wolverhampton. Has a good shout here i think. WIN @ 9/1 VC BOG

Re: BBOTD 6th of October 7.50 Wolves Excellent Vision had his only win over this C/D and is still on a decent mark. Didn't get much of a run here lto and hopefully will give a better showing tonight with a bit more luck in running, should go close. 1 Pt win 9/2 VCBet

Re: BBOTD 6th of October 6.50 Wolverhampton An E/W bet on GRAND STITCH is the bet for me in this 5f furlong handicap. The selection is back on the AW after summer campaigning on the green stuff. He rattled up 2 wins over C&D last October, the 2nd one off a higher mark than today. Subsequently the handicapper got hold of him and never seemed to take to turf. Lively chance today if the re-introduction to AW reinvigorates. GRAND STITCH 0.5pts E/W @ 17.00 (Paddy Power)

Re: BBOTD 6th of October 8.20 Wolverhampton - 1pt win Peponi @ 6/1 (Hills) Showed plenty of promise last year on all starts, but something seemed amiss on its final run of the year at Goodwood. Presumably this caused a lengthy lay off but this horse shaped with a lot of encouragement when running well after such an absence in a decent race at Sandown. Will come on a lot for that, and appears well-handicapped on a surface which is proven to be no issue.

Re: BBOTD 6th of October 8.20 Wolves Hidden Fire win @ 11/2 Ladbrokes Drop in trip may be against him but he is well drawn and has the aid of Neil Callan so may be able to go from the front and try and put his stamina to good use. He should strip much fitter here tonight and must have a chance if coming on for his recent return to action at Haydock.

Has form over this sort of trip and has a reasonable draw if choosing to attack under carson. 12/1 betfred, 1 pt win
