BillyHills
Visited the new Casino in Leicester the other night, very impressive. Asked about Poker Tournaments and was told the card room is still to be finished and in the new year there will be weekly Texas tournaments. Usually £20/£30 to enter, 10 tables, re-buys first 90mins. At Nottingham Gala the other night there was a £200 buy-in tournament for 77 players, so Leicester could hold some tasty ones as well. Another interesting point is that you can hire the tables, £2 per hour with no dealer £10 per hour with dealer We could hold our own Tournament even? QUOTE] Haven't been yet but sure it doesn't beat Annabels in Leicester - a quality proper gamblers casino - no frills- and you get free sarnies whenever you want :clap
BillyHills
Re: Gala Casino- Leicester No, its very different to both Annabels and Stanleys, twice the size and aimed at the occaisonal punter rather than the 'proper gambler' i suppose. Its Gala's best effort so far by all accounts but i suppose it comes with a price. Restaurant not cheap, bar meals are about £3. A lot of people are put off by the atmosphere in the other two older casinos, small, smokey, not many tables etc.. I agree the food was cheap. Stanleys do a Carvery for a fiver, never got any free sarnies at annabels though. (no poker tourneys either). As i say i think it will be aimed at large groups of people looking for a night out coz they are catering for parties and the like. I'll keep you informed of any developments.
