Is this the wake up call that begins the downfall of this project? A sign of things to come, or simply a hiccup?

There's 20 midweek games to go with, for a total stake of £200. This might well be the first reversal of this current series because more than half of the fixtures are Championship which seems to have a long history of a poor conversion rate for correct scores using this particular method.
Ah well, even if we draw a complete wipe out from these 20 the series still leaves us with with healthy winnings.

I'm aware of that, and 8 games have ended 0-0, but one of them was a correct prediction. And an additional £70 returned would add another 5% to the total.

Ignoring the National League games for this exercise because of negative returns is okay, but I can't help wondering just why, and is there anything I can do to flag up no-go areas earlier?

This season the Premier League games thus far have produced 29 different score variants, is there any wonder that correct score betting is so difficult?

The Championship has had 32 different scorelines, League One 33, League Two 28 and National League 31. Little there then to indicate much to trigger further investigation.

The vast majority of these different scores though will be one-offs, Southampton 0-9 Leicester can maybe be regarded as a freak event for example. So what if I examine the most frequent scores in each division? Checking out the proportion taken by the 5 most common scores in each of the English leagues there are small differences;

Prem 49%
Cham 53%
Lg One 51%
Lg Two 52%
National 47%

So, the five most frequent scores in this season's National League shows the lowest proportion of all the leagues, is this significant? However, the best figure is with the Championship which is certainly not the best performing using my prediction methods.

Time to search out another "competitive" league to see how their figures stack up. The German Budesliga . . .
It shows 30 different scores from 198 games this season, rather a high number considering their number of games played is less than half those played in English L1 & L2.
The most frequent 5 games in Germany account for only 40% of games played. I check out this league by adopting my same correct score method from Jan 1st to date. Very low strike rate of winners and a substantial loss so far!

Mmmm, What top 5 proportions are displayed by the top division in say, France, Italy & Spain?
France 51%
Italy 48%
Spain 53%

If these figures do indicate which leagues are better suited to this variety of correct score betting then LaLiga would be a good place to start looking.
Think again, since Jan 1st using my procedure on the Spanish league produced a substantial loss. So, work in progress :unsure

However, nobody can get best odds all of the time, so using them as a measure is disingenuous.
