  1. Day 60 Profit = £1871

    Total buyins - €102 Total cashes - €41.82

Disaster day. Nothing went right and closest I came was to 3 off the bubble of a €500 GTD only for SB to raise my BB for the 10th time and me to fire back allin with AQ and get snapped by QQ... sigh.

This profit could drop big tonight if I don't do well. Planning to play my other UK final sat so fingers crossed I'm adding a couple hundred to it rather than taking it away!

My mate (a fellow Cardiff fan) and I agree that we think unless Sheffield United invest over January then they'll slip away. I'd still back them to make the play-offs. I have since the start of the season. Teams that win League 1 with a decent manager often compete the next year through momentum. I think they've done well but it's a long season. Can they keep up with the likes of us, Wolves, Middlesbrough, Aston Villa, and Derby? I think Bristol City are another one that might fade. That said, our squad isn't the biggest but we've still stayed up there despite being injury plagued for the last 2 months.

There's been no speculation about how much Warnock would have to spend in January and I can't imagine Tan will part with more than £1m - £2m. However, the reason we went up as champions a few years back was because we bought Fraizer Campbell in January. His goals proved crucial. We need a player to have a similar impact this season. Bogle has shown he can score when he's not getting sent off! Ward has shown potential but needs the games he won't get with Zohore here. I'd like to see more depth in midfield come in. I think we still need competition for Hoilett and Mendez-Laing out wide plus someone to back up Gunnarsson because we've missed him big time.

I agree though mate, I think you'll beat Reading. You're by far the best team in this division right now with the best squad. Going to take something miraculous to pip you to the title.

I'm not sure about Bristol. I went to the 3-3 at home they had with us and I was impressed. Could be a wild card but I must admit I don't know a lot about their squad. Might learn something more about them this set of fixtures. Sheff Weds is another one I think we will continue to rise now (imagine steel city playoff final!) and had they been a higher price I'd have took them against Bristol.

Always liked Mendez-Laing when he was a kid down here. Glad he went on to prove himself at this level. Touch wood I think we will be fine as long as we sign a striker in Jan. Bonatini is absolutely brilliant but if he gets injured I would worry. I think we have loads of goals through out the midfield but we don't have another out and out striker or poacher currently comfortable at this level. The money is there 'for the right player' and we missed out on a £10m deal of PSV's Locadia in the final hour of deadline day after someone got injured and PSV pulled the plug. I would imagine we will go for something similar again in Jan.

  3. Were gonna have to beat Reading because I can't see Sheff Utd slipping up.

Not seeing much I like. Think Sunderland may get their first home win but wouldn't like to bet too much on it.

Other than that not much I like. Barnsley could pull off a win at that price I reckon but some pure gambles in there this week.

Is there money to spend in January @StevieDay1983? I'm thinking Sheff will eventually slip away and Villa will come up strong.

  4. Day 57 and 58

    Total buyins = €122. Total Cash = €218.06

Lost my first UK tour final ticket so only one I have left now is the one included in this profit. Fairly happy with how the 2 days went in terms of my play. Came 2nd in a decent tournament on Unibet for a €154 cash but was disappointed not to grab the win. Fingers crossed will get a lot of play in this week and feeling motivated to do so.

    Total profit = £1931

  5. Successful predictions with Bolton and Brentford and Wolves got a comfy win. Good midweek for me.

As for Friday night, I think any time Wolves are at home and evens are above it's going to be a very popular acca inclusion. This league has a funny way of throwing weird results up all the time but I would be very disappointed if we didn't beat Fulham tomorrow.

Elsewhere Barnsley look a good price. Will say it again, regardless of my dislike for them, Birmingham just do not look like a team that's going to be in anything other than a relegation scrap. I believe Barnsley are better than their league position suggests and have got some decent results recently especially in the games against those in and around them.

Think I'd take Villa at that price too but don't like the look of much else. Tough game to call for you @StevieDay1983

  6. Ordinarily I'd have took a draw away at Norwich but due to debacle of Saturday it now becomes more important to win it. Unfortunately I'm not sure we will. My head wouldn't like to call it either way but my heart thinks were in for a reality check and consecutive losses... Hope I'm wrong. Would expect the manager to be ringing the changes.

Bolton look overpriced given Sunderlands horrendous home record for last 2 years. Small stakes on a team that was seconds away from a very good away win on the weekend.

Brentford surprised me at the weekend. Think they can follow it up against Brum who I just am not convinced are in for anything other than a relegation scrap despite the money they have spent. Think the price is a bit skinny but Brum are struggling for goals.

  7. Total Profit £1846

Thanks @Danshot. Hope I can encourage a few more to put some blogs up. Bit of a mare yesterday. Had to withdraw my 2 UKOPS entries as I ended up doing something last night. I am going to move them to tomorrow but I played quite a few sats in the afternoon and failed them all, bubbling two in typical horrific fashion. Profit -£47

Over on Unibet things were pretty dull. €13 of sats entered, €14 of seats won lol. Profit +€1

Not planning on anything today but looking forward to a full evening tomorrow. Will be playing at least 2 UKOPS hopefully 3. And also over on Unibet a UK tour final (the one not included in this profit ladder) along with a couple other bigger tournaments.

One of my (semi) bubbles yesterday was interesting. Should I call?

    Blinds 300/600

    Player 1 - 5k chips

    Player 2 - 6k chips

    Player 3 - 6k chips

    Me - 7k chips

    2 seats to £22 tournament and 3rd gets £15.

I raise UTG to 1200 with QQ. Player 1 on button shoves. Other two fold. ICM and shove fold ranges have never been my strongest point and with this being a satellite... I'm guessing mathematically I should call seeing as I am only in terrible shape against AA and KK, and 50/50 against AK? Good position for a 3 bet steal so he could be very weak or rag ace? Strange to think about folding QQ in this spot but I can't help but think folding gives me a better chance of winning a seat than calling?

  8. Day 55 - £1892 Profit

Decent day on both sites. Qualified for nightly major on Sky for £1.60 but went out just before the money. Managed to take 2 heads for £25, though. Won a buyin for a £22 UKOPS event tomorrow. Hope to play most of the day tomorrow.

    Sky Profit = £1836

Won a €100 UK Tour final ticket on Unibet. Got two of them now. I won't class the other one I have among this profit and similarly if I win a UK Tour seat with it I won't count that either. If I win a UK tour seat with the token I just won though I will add €280 expenses money to the profit (500 package -220 seat).

    Unibet profit = €63.48 (£56)

  9. Right. I need motivation and I've just noticed that Sky's UKOPS starts tomorrow. As a rule Sky isn't really giving me much motivation to play there but I thought it was worth trying to qualify for a few of these. SO THIS THREAD LIVES AGAIN!

Also, I have bankroll on Unibet. So although sharkscope won't track it for me I will put a summary at the end of the day in here and add it to the overall profit / loss of this thread.

I am only planning to play sats in both clients, unless I unlock tokens for some other format, and the target tournaments those sats feed into.

As a side note - is anyone going to Unibet tour Manchester from here? Brighton is this weekend but I can't make it so going Manchester instead.

  10. Preston seem overpriced. Was impressed with their never say die attitude on the weekend and the way they pummeled us towards the end. Had more possession than us too which has only happened one other time this season (H Middlesboro). Preston unbeaten at home and only conceded 3 in 6. Brentford looked better of late but not sure they will have enough here. Narrow Preston win.

Im having a look a both Derby and Sheffield Utd. Sheffield not great away only collecting 5 points in 6 games. Derby's been a bit up and down as of late but im hoping their win away against Bolton Will give them a boost. Thoughts?

Derby seem decent price on face of it. Sheff Weds been well off the boil most of the season so far.

  12. Think there is actually some value in Preston get something off us. Apart from the Villa match Saturday, in which we were magnificent, we haven't been great at home and, Villa aside, haven't beat any of the top 10 losing to Cardiff and drawing against Bristol City. And struggling to overcome Millwall and Barnsley.

Don't get me wrong. I wouldn't want to be the one betting against Wolves. But Preston certainly have a stubbornness about them that may see them grind something out of this. We are seriously dangerous in the counter attack, but I can't see Preston committing men forward.

i have to go on birmingham tonight. cardiff are hanging on the by a thread and their form is bound to slip especially in this away game. they even failed to score at home against derby last time. if that's not a hint then i don't know what is. the motivation is with birmingham and i think a reaction to heavy 6-1 defeat will be fresh in their minds. i just can't see birmingham not picking up at least a point tonight. calling it 1-0 to hosts

    Wow nice prediction! :cheers

Preston and even Bolton seem a touch of value to me. Nothing massively stands out so I think it's a no bet in the Championship this week. Hopefully see Wolves take advantage of Cardiffs slip up but got a feeling a draw is on the cards.
