  1. Quick update! Yesterday KK was the difference between a good day and a great day. 3 times whilst in the money I was allin pre with KK and lost to Ace rag. The worst of which came with 6 left in one of the £400 GTDs and whilst sitting in 4th 2nd place flips A3 with me. My personal fave though was a 4th shove with KK I made. I 4 bet shove for 30BB's 10 off the money and someone with 40 BB's cold calls 89?? Obviously makes a straight. Its as if he knew it was coming :eyes It is a shame my A6 could not hold up vs KQ in the £22 game I played as you will see below but oh well... No excuses for not making more yesterday. I played well (save for one stupid shove I made in the mini roller whilst in the money). If every day was like yesterday I would be very happy. On to the results! 5.75 - KO - £0 3.3 - Timed - £7.60 5.75 - KO - £3.76 5.75 - KO - £4.68 11 - KO - £0 7.2 - Sat - £0 22 - KO - £79.22 - 3rd 5.75 - KO - £0 5.75 - KO - £23.09 - 6th 5.75 - KO - £20.68 12 - Sat - £22 5.5 - Hilo - £0 5.75 - KO - £0 5.5 - Timed - £23.50 - 3rd 5.5 - MTT - £0 Main Goal - £1500 up (Currently £565) 1. 2. Could probably class yesterday as another day of what could of been. Sunday's are usually a bust day for me. Football, horses, poker - it all usually ends up a complete betting farce. The football and horses went as I expected and I made a profit, though. Was this going to be the case for poker too? Sadly, not quite what I'd hoped. But is wasn't too bad! 11 - KO - £0 5.75 - KO - £0 7.2 - Sat - Seat to £33 KO 5.3 - Sat - £0 1.1 - Hilo - £0 5.3 - Sat - Seat to Super Roller Semi Final Sat 5.75 - KO - £0 At this point I was feeling a bit annoyed although happy I had won entry to a good sized tournament with the option of fulfilling 10% of goal number 4 and getting into the Super Roller. In the KO's nothing was going right. 11 - KO - £8.44 3.3 - Hilo - £24 - 2nd 24 - Sat to Super Roller - £0 33 - KO - £25.31 3.3 - Timed - £0 5.75 - KO - £0 5.75 - KO - £1.88 5.75 - KO - £4.22 5.5 - Timed - £20.50 - 7th Sadly I could not make it through to the Super Roller which made me wonder how achievable that goal is. Sky actually only runs a regular £100 tournament once a week and I think there are only 14 Sundays left until xmas (!!!) It may be that if I can increase bankroll I branch out to a couple of sats on another site. That may have to be the case with the live event too as I am looking at 888.com's Milton Keynes fest in November. I was gutted with the £33 KO. There were about 30 paid and I ended up going out in 50th losing nearly my entire stack in a cruel QQ to KK all in pre scenario. I had villain covered and by which time he had quite a juicy bounty. The Q hit the flop. But so did the K :( Pretty standard day otherwise! Main Goal - £1500 up (Currently £493) 1. Play 500 games (Currently 72) 2. Win 15 tournaments (Currently 2) 3. Qualify for a live event (Not Achieved) 4. Win 10 sats into an online event >£100 (Currently 0) 5. Have an ROI >15% - Currently 17.0% 6. Get my ability on Sharkscope to >80 - Currently 73 7. Make the top 10% of the field >12% - Currently 16.5%
  3. Update! Had yesterday off but Friday was a good day overall and could (should) have been even better if it wasn't for my allin bluff gone wrong in the final £11 I played. Maybe slightly loose call by villain but good call nonetheless. Came 2nd in a PLO which I am fairly happy with. With 3 left I played awful and was thankful not to go out 3rd. 11 - Timed - £0 5.75 - KO - £0 3.30 - Timed - £0 11 - MTT - £120 - 1st 5.75 - KO - £11.79 - 8th 5.75 - KO - £0 5.5 - MTT - £0 5.75 - KO - £0 5.5 - PLO - £33 - 2nd 5.5 - Timed - £0 11 - KO - £0 5.5 - Timed - £10.76 5.5 - Hilo - £0 11 - KO - £15 5.5 - MTT - £0 1.1 - Hilo - £0 3.3 - Hilo - £0 Main Goal - £1500 up (Currently £490) 1. 4. Continuing the downswing yesterday was even worse than the day before. Nothing went right and upon reviewing hand history I couldn't find a single allin I had where I won from behind - but plenty I lost when in front! Tilt nearly reared it's ugly head as I played a £22. Another long time leak of mine... However, I'm not going to dwell on it too much - because today has been much better so far and I have already won a £11 for £120. Today is not yet over though so I will update that later. On to yesterdays results. 3.3 - Timed - £13.50 - 2nd 5.75 - ko - £0 2.3 - ko - £0 3.3 - Timed - £4.50 - 8th 11 - ko - £3.75 5.75 - ko - £0 1.1 - Hilo - £11.50 - 1st 3.3 - Timed - £0 22 - ko - £0 Will do the stats tomorrow as Sharkscope has already been adding tournaments I changed today and I don't know what the true stats were for yesterday other than being up to 39 games and achieving one tournament win (yeah it was small but there was 4 tables and they all count!)
  5. Sky decided to troll me yesterday and I was not happy. 2 bubbles despite being second in chips in both when the bubble started. First one lost majority of chips when someone shoved on y big and I called AQ. They had Q3 and hit their 3. Then the second one I went out when I attempted to take out a short stack (3.5k who had A8) with AJ and moved allin for 11k. Chip leader with 14k decided he wanted a piece of it and called his stack off with A4. So heres me thinking no 4 or 8 (or at least no 4!!) and I will be as good as tournament winner. But nooooo of course the 4 hits and the donk is rewarded for being brave / stupid. 5.75 - KO - £1.88 - BUBBLED 5.75 - KO - £0 3.3 - Timed - £0 £11 - KO - BUBBLED So only a few games yesterday - Then I went and played live poker. I got trolled there too... Main Goal - £1500 (Currently £442) 1. Play 500 games (Currently 28) 2. Win 15 tournaments (Currently 0) 3. Qualify for a live event (Not Achieved) 4. Win 10 sats into an online event >£100 (Currently 0) 5. Have an ROI >15% - Currently 17% 6. Get my ability on Sharkscope to >80 - Currently 73 7. Make the top 10% of the field >12% - Currently 16.2%
  6. Well if I have more days like yesterday I will surely complete this challenge but alas it just didn't go for me in the end. Next time! The day started off in typically terrible fashion. I bubbled a hilo comp due to a awful play by the villian who hit runner runner to scoop. I also bubbled a sat A10 to A3 and had QQ to JJ (river J) kill me off in a time tournament 2 mins before the end when the win would of given me a top 3 stack. This was not the last time JJ would kill me with a J on the river but more on that later... So early comps looked like this. 3.3 - hilo - £0 11 - timed - £0 5.75 - KO - £0 2.4 - Sat - £0 I felt it was time for a break. I made myself some noodles. As bland as they were I felt they needed a little spicing up. I have a nice 1,000,000 scoville hot sauce which I thought needed trying out. As I tipped the bottle slightly disaster though and more than I had hoped fell into the . A lot more. I do love hot sauce, though and proceeded to power through the meal. And so redfaced and sweating I sat back down to poker. Something did me good as the next couple of games went surprisingly well! I came 4th in the one where a heart breaking 9 fell as I got it in good with KQ on a Kxx flop against 99. 11 - KO - £29.99 - 4th 5.75 - KO - £16.93 - 10th To resolve my disappointment I felt a couple of hours on Xbox was in order and after grabbing a few achievements and a couple of multiplayer wins on Halo I was ready to hit the tables again. This is where it was a case of what might have been. Into the money of the £2.5k GTD and sitting in a pretty healthy 22nd out of 50 left there was a raise from UTG. They make is 3200 with blinds at 1600. With 27k in my stack I shove from the button with AK. Big blind snaps - Uh Oh..... UTG folds and so I am left once again face off for my tournament life against the dreaded JJ. A king is the first card off and by the turn he is left with only two outs. And there it is. A soul destroying Jack on the river denies me the chance of a top 5 stack and the chance to bite a massive chunk out of this challenge. 5.75 - KO - £0 5.75 - KO - £4.22 5.75 - KO - £0 5.5 - PLO - £0 5.5 - Timed - £11.68 5.5 - HILO - £0 5.75 - KO - £16.93 As I say though more days like that and the results will surely come. Main Goal - £1500 (Currently £456) 1. Play 500 games (Currently 24) 2. Win 15 tournaments (Currently 0) 3. Qualify for a live event (Not Achieved) 4. Win 10 sats into an online event >£100 (Currently 0) 5. Have an ROI >15% - Currently 17.8% 6. Get my ability on Sharkscope to >80 - Currently 73 7. Make the top 10% of the field >12% - Currently 16.1% One good thing about yesterday is that going over hand history I noticed a leak and 2 glaring situations where this leak cost me big time. Need to get a plumber on that as soon as possible! Now, on to today...
  7. So first day at it was fairly uneventful. A few deep runs was countered by a horrendous allin misclick by me in the mini-roller as one of the Scottish equalizers against Germany started to ruin my football accumulator (It went down in the end anyway). Anyway, this is what happened in a nutshell. Buy in - Game type - Cash - finish (if relevant) 5.75 - ko - £10.85 - 9th 3.3 - timed - £6.43 - 7th 5.75 - ko - £0 5.75 - ko - £7.45 - 12th 3.3 - timed - £0 5.75 - ko - £1.88 5.5 - plo - £0 5.5 - ko - £0 5.5 - timed - £23.37 - 3rd 5.5 - hilo - £0 2.3 - ko - £0.75 10 paid in the one I finished 12th. Lost AK to 99, AQ to 44, K10 to Q8 and A8 to 55 pretty much in a row and went from 4th stack to out just like that. Need to learn to flip better.... Sharkscope is taking its sweet time to update (Does it wait until tournaments are over to add them?) Either way as of today the stats SHOULD be something like: Main Goal - £1500 up (Currently £456) 1. Play 500 games (Currently 11) 2. Win 15 tournaments (Currently 0) 3. Qualify for a live event (Not Achieved) 4. Win 10 sats into an online event >£100 (Currently 0) 5. Have an ROI >15% - Currently 18.9% 6. Get my ability on Sharkscope to >80 - Currently 73 7. Make the top 10% of the field >12% - Currently 16.6% Hopefully Sharkscope will reflect that when it has added the missing tournaments.
  8. Although I dip in and out of here everyday it's been a while since I have posted anything of worth so felt I owed the forum something back. After a really tough time recently in the personal life I now have lots of free time to play poker and am hoping to make it a great end to the year to make up for the last few months. If I can replicate the sort of success I had in my challenge at the start of the year I will be more than happy. The aim really is just to turn a profit. A decent profit. £1000 to be exact. I don't have the bankroll to play big stakes so like before I will be reducing variance by playing all games on Sky which are mainly bounty games. They will all be scheduled tournaments. Below is my current Sharkscope (which I hope I have embedded correctly!) £458 profit up by the final game - game 317. So to make it a nice round number I want that to read £1500 on 25th December. To make things a bit more interesting though I wanted to add some other milestones along the way - some easy, some hard and some probably unachievable. I hope to achieve these just because I feel like they will either make me a better player - or I should be doing it anyway.

    Main Goal - £1500 (Currently £663)

    1. Play 500 Games (Currently 174)

    2. Win 15 tournaments (Currently 3)

3, Qualify for a live event (Not Achieved)

    4. Win 10 sats into an online event >£100 (Currently 0)

    5. Have an ROI of >15% (Currently 18.8%)

    6. Get my ability on Sharkscope to >80 (Currently 72)

    7. Make top 10% of the field >12% (Currently 16.1%)

I will be editing this post to keep the challenge up to date and reply to the thread to update how I've done daily. Thanks for anyone that takes an interest in this and good luck me!

  9. Re: Ante-Post > Championship Promotion 2014/15 Interesting that the odds are still pretty long on Wolves promotion. 9/1+ you can get. We have the momentum for sure. I'd be fairly confident about taking on anyone in the playoffs except bournemouth and Norwich and for a team that is only outside the playoffs on goal difference I think 9/1 represents some value.

  10. Re: Sky Bet Championship > 20-21 Mar Am not going to bet on this (far too nervous) but will give what info I can to help anyone. We are in good form at home no doubt scoring plenty of goals but against poorer teams. Despite derbies injury worries they are still a great team and smashed us 5-0 earlier in the season. Injury wise we are free of any major problems. Stearman is expected to be ok to continue his great form as center back and McDonald should be fine too despite limping off mid week. Afobe is top goalscorer in England and in superb form. He will be a handful for Derby and indeed anyone at this level. The crowd will be touching 28,000 - 30,000 which is massive for a Friday game on Sky. Derby have sold out their allocation so expect an intense atmosphere. The feeling from Wolves fans is that everything is set up for us to win tonight but I don't believe for a second it will be that simple. My heart says Wolves win this. My head says it will be a draw which would probably kill any hope of Wolves making the play offs.

  11. Re: Sky Bet Championship > March 3rd & 4th

Agreed we are a good price to win although it is dropping to around 3/1 now and I would be wary if it goes much lower. I shall be swerving it either way... What I do like though is Charlton to beat Forest at around 2/1. Charlton have been fairly stubborn all season at home only losing 3. In decent form having won 3 of their last 4 games 3-0 and although Forest have found their feet again there has still been room for improvement on the road recently as Brighton, Fulham and Blackpool (some of the leagues poorer teams) have scored 2, 3 and 4 respectively against them. Worth a punt on the outright at small stakes. Suggest: 3 pts Charlton to win = 2/1 1 pt Charlton to win and BTTS = 5/1 Both William Hill

  12. Re: Punters Lounge Tournament I like Andybell's idea. I'm not sure I could go to Vegas as I have a baby due mid April but would be interested in any PL events that were set up whether it be a full blown live event or just to sat people into a smaller UK event.

  14. Re: Sky Bet Championship > February 24th & 25th

Odds on Brighton and Leeds doesn't look right' date=' i think Leeds has more chances to get something than the odds suggest, or bookies know something i don't.[/quote'] I have actually stuck some money down on Leeds tonight. Can't really justify why other than that I think the same as you. Seems a good enough price for me to take a punt.
  15. Re: Sky Bet Championship > February 24th & 25th

Watford vs Rotherham What do you guys think of this match? Easy win for Watford?
I was there to watch us (Wolves) beat Rotherham 5-0 on the weekend. Rotherham's had chances but their finishing was diabolical and better teams would of put 1 or 2 away against us. Their goalkeeper made plenty of mistakes that day. Watford seem to be quite inconsistent and are always good for conceding a goal but you can't ignore their potent attack either. Despite the 3-0 drubbing Norwich gave them on Saturday I expect this will be a different story. BTTS and over 2.5 goals interests me at 19/20 with William Hill. Small stakes. Actually think the price just for an outright Watford win is pretty fair, though.
  16. Re: KO Challenge Didn't cash in any of the later events. For the second challenge in a row I'm going to have to halt it. I haven't played well all day and had a bad day on top of that too. I'm feeling really tilty at the moment. MONUMENTALLY tilty actually and it would break my heart to see all this effort wasted. I'm just going to withdraw, sleep it off and go to work tomorrow in a bad mood. Thanks for the rails, kind words and support guys. Maybe once my little one is born I can come back with a challenge I actually finish. Thanks all.

The one I came 3rd in I can't moan really as I was 10th with 10 left and came back but I got a decent stack at one point and really just played like a fool and blew my chance.
