  1. Re: Sky Bet Championhip > September 30th & October 1st

Wolves v Huddersfield I am looking at backing the home side here to retain their 100% record in the league at the Molineux this season. Wolves can be picked up @ 1.80 with Bet365 Huddersfield got their first victory in 6 at the weekend in their home tie against out of form Millwall and while I do expect Huddersfield to improve over the season from their poor start I am not sure going away to Wolves tonight will be a match they can take points from. Grant Holt is an excellent loan signing for them but may take a while to settle in. Wolves signed Yannick Sagbo on loan from Hull City yesterday and he is eligible to play tonight. A win here for Wolves takes them to the top of the league which should give them even more inspiration that usual to get all 3 points tonight. Wolves are a good team in this league and have a lot of strength in depth. They are playing well and are unbeaten in 7 games winning 4 of those. They played well, as did Reading on Sunday in the 6 goal thriller which ended 3-3. I'd really appreciate it if anyone has any more input on this game or either team?
I agree all of us Wolves fans would be very disappointed not to be top of the league at the end of the night. I believe Dicko and Doherty are facing a late fitness tests but with Ricketts and Sagbo available I don't believe either will be risked. Our record at home is P4 W4 scored 6 conceded 1 (a penalty). I think that Grant Holt is an excellent signing for the visitors but he is the type of player that Danny Batth was built to play against. I would be surprised if we didn't have enough strength to see the job out tonight and I think the odds are pretty decent.
  2. Re: Sky Bet Championship > Saturday August 16th

Wolves one of my fancies to go well this season did not let me down last week by beating Norwich. Wolves 8/5 (boyles) looks good for me away to Rotherham who did well against Derby last week but came up short
Not sure I fancy us but to give some basic info. Our matches last season finished 3-3 away at Rotherham and 6-4 at home so goals looks like a decent bet, as I imagine Rotherham will come out and attack us, and there is no way we will play for a 0-0. We have a fully fit squad and should have a decent following as we have had extra tickets made available. Would like to see us at a slightly higher price, though.
  3. Re: England > Capital One Cup > 11th & 12th August 2014

Thanks for the information. I've been looking at backing Wolves but just couldn't decide how seriously they would take the game. I take it you would feel comfortable they can with Northampton with this team?
Yes and I think the price is pretty fair. 6 or 7 first team starters from last season in there with the rest being in and out regularly too. If this team played away to Rotherham in the league on Saturday I'd think it may be able to do the job even then, so SHOULD certainly be too strong for Northampton at home. That being said I don't know much about Northampton and how they will set up tonight but I'm sure they will come and give it a go.
  4. Re: England > Capital One Cup > 11th & 12th August 2014 Although not official this seems to be the team the media and fans are suggesting Wolves will play tonight. All of these players have numerous first team games for us with many being pivotal in our promotion last year. A few of these didn't play Sunday so I can't see any reason why this wouldn't be the team tonight give or a take a player - so, strong squad to sum up if anyone is thinking of backing Wolves but wasn't sure how strong we would go. McCarey, Doherty, Ebanks Landell, Stearman, Ricketts, Henry, Evans, Price, Jacobs, MacAlinden, Clarke.

  5. Re: Sky Bet Championship > August 8th - 10th

i think fulham is going to beat ipswich only because of the difference in managers. felix magath is known for being demanding manager and getting the maximum out of his players. he has managed at the very top level of football and has got the better experience over mccarthy. fulham pre season has been promising and look like a team ready to get back in premiership next season. they added strength and can't wait to kick off the season. it could be tight in first half but i see fulham edging ipswich and getting a win like 1-2.
Don't tend to agree with this. Whilst it's entirely possible Fulham will win at Ipswich to say the difference is because of managers experience is a bit of nonsense. Magath has no experience of 'the toughest division to get out of' whereas McCarthy has consistently done well in this division gaining 2 playoffs and 2 promotions with Sunderland and Wolves (using a largely inexperienced squad with Wolves).
  6. Re: Sky Bet Championship > August 8th - 10th Would be tempted to avoid my team Wolves at the price. Dropping in to 6/5 and would like to see it higher than that. (Obviously a bit of value on Norwich at 12/5) We have a full strength squad and are riding a wave of enthusiasm but we can't forget that Norwich are a strong team. Last season we lost at home to teams a lot worse than Norwich despite our overall dominance. We don't usually play well in front of the cameras and whilst I wouldn't be surprised if we win I certainly don't expect it. Both to score looks a decent price at 10/11 with William Hill, though. We keep a record amount of clean sheets last season but that is pretty irrelevant against a team that was 2 leagues above us last year. Would be amazed if we didn't score given the goals we have in the team and the good pre season we have had.

  7. Re: Ante-Post > Championship Relegation 2014/15

Relegation not always easy to predict in this league - However Blackpool are reported to only have 8 registered players at the moment and things are not harmonious there at all. It’s possible the only reason the manager hasn't walked is that he's waiting for the chairman to sack him so he can get a payout. And possibly the only reason the chairman hasn't sacked the manager is that he's waiting for the manager to walk so he doesn't have to make a payout. Things not looking good there Hence them being favorites for this
Yep completely agree with this. Can't see no way out for them at the moment. Birmingham's one I would be interested in. Escaped by the skin of their teeth last time and not really bolstered the squad as far as I know. Lots of problems off the pitch over the last few seasons which show signs of continuing.
  8. Re: Ante-Post > Championship Promotion 2014/15 I'd keep an eye on Ipswich as McCarthy has a knack of doing well in this league and he's had a good amount of time to shape his team now. All the talk from my team Wolves is we are going for a promotion push and we obviously have momentum. In reality I think most fans accept we will be just outside the playoffs. However, we've been linked with a few signings in Chris Wood and Patrick Bamford so adding them might be enough for a playoff push.

  9. Re: ipoker This happened again briefly Tuesday on Grosvenor client. Really thought that by now playtech could of sorted these little issues out by now. Seems to have been going on for years. Their slot machines work fine, though... :eyes

  10. Re: Sky Bet League 1 > April 15th & 18th Can see some value on Preston here. Been consistently good all season and winning here could really throw up a late twist in the race for 2nd place. Recent signs of Brentford faltering in matches where they should be taking all 3 points. Taking Preston on the handicap looks decent... Also like the look of Carlisle at home to Walsall. Will look into these a bit more later.

  11. Re: Tuesday poker..who's playing? Few cash games. Busted a forum game 10 left in a sick fashion after leading it for about an hour. Think me and PLNemo split a bounty, though. Wouldn't mind if he took the full bounty as we split but he had me covered too, though.

  12. Re: Question on a ruling Thanks Teaulc. I have seen a deck reshuffled in a couple of games. Mainly self dealt when it could be seen as an angle by the dealer to see if the next card helps. Burning it was seen as a disadvantage to those who have acted innocently but may have needed that card.

  13. Hi guys. I used to play a lot of live poker but hardly any the last couple of years. We had a situation come up in a pub game last night that had some differences of opinion. I have seen this happen a few times before but wanted to know what the general consensus would be if it happened in a casino. The situation was as follows. Blinds 50 / 100 2 limps, raise from mid to 275. Both blinds and both limpers call. Flop 9 9 5 with two hearts. Checks round to the original raiser who puts out 200. Small blind calls and big blind is thinking but dealer isn't paying attention and places the turn down. It's the 8 of hearts which could be a significant card. The majority of people agreed that action should go back to the flop and the turn card should be put back into the deck and the deck reshuffled so as to give the 8h an equal chance of coming out again. Is this the right ruling?

  14. Re: Sky Bet Championship > Tuesday April 8th Small stakes on Doncaster. Seem overpriced to me? Around 11/5 at home to a Bolton side which doesn't have much to play for despite being in decent form. Doncaster still looking over their shoulder and although relegation is unlikely this looks like a good shot of sealing safety for them.
